  • This historic Formula 1 car was the first non-European car to win a grand prix. It did so at the 1965 Mexico round of the championship. The image was taken at the 2007 Sydney International Motor Show, where Honda had the fully restored car on display.

  • James Hinchcliffe locks up pushing hard for Team Canada. Turn 6 at Eastern Creek International Raceway.

  • Carlos Checa in qualifying for the Superbike round at Phillip Island. Its been a long long time since I’ve shot bikes.

  • Troy Bayliss goes for pole position in the Superbike round at Phillip Island.

  • From the Supersport support event at the Superbike round at Phillip Island

  • Heikki Kovalainen pushing hard to catch the BMW of Robert Kubica at the opening round of the 2008 FIA Formula 1 season at Albert Park Melbourne, Australia Click here for my other photos of cars!

  • Well I finally made the trip to Brooklands :) Only took 3 shots during my time there all of the banking. I just wanted to sit on the concrete for a while and try and live the speed, noise, courage and excitement of those early motorsport days. Awesome. This is a view towards Members Bridge and banking.

  • Fuchs Promotional Girl in Pits. / Australian V8 Supercars / Barbagello Raceway / Perth / Western Australia

  • Telstra Rally Australia / World Rally Championship / Perth / Western Australia

  • Shot of Rally Photographer at Rally Australia. I believe she is the only female accreditated by the world peak Autosport organisation, the FIA, as a photographer for the World Rally Championship (WRC) events. A very nice lady who speaks English with a very sexy French accent and who not only is talented but as you can see she also has a nice bit of kit.

  • Posterised image of the Lotus Cortina lifting a wheel as it goes through the chicane.

  • A resubmit, I took out the advert sign behind the car. Ford World Rally Team driver Mikko Hirvanon flys his Focus over a jump during a leg of Rally Australia, World Rally Championshp; an event he won that year.

  • Aston Martin DBR9, Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2008

  • Troy Bayliss riding the Ducati 1098 in the last round of the 2008 World Superbike Championship at Portimao, Portugal. This special, one off livery was especially for Bayliss’ last ever WSB race. / All the best for the future Troy, you’re a living legend.

  • I took this image at a historic meeting Brands Hatch in 2007, and shows the March 717 Can-Am car driven by Frank Bradley. / Unfortunately, Frank lost control of the car shortly after this photograph was taken and the car was substantially damaged by the unforgiving Brands Hatch banking, but I’m pleased to report that it is out and about and winning races once more. I opted to give it a retro-style treatment in an attempt to emulate the look of Tri-X film. This image was chosen to be included in the Dunlop Photobook and published in late 2007. Nikon D80. Sigma 70-300mm APO. Converted to mono in Photoshop

  • Taken at an Open Day at a local performance car specialist. A Porsche 911 racing car and a TVR Sagaris. Mouthwatering! Nikon D80. Nikkor 18-135mm

  • The late, great Steve Hislop, doing what he did best, Goddards corner, Donnington Park, UK 2002. Steve was tragically killed when the helicopter he was flying came down in the Scottish borders, a great loss to British motorsport and to his two young sons.

  • This Williams FW07C was driven by the Australian F1 World Champion Alan Jones during the 1981 season, which was his last year driving in F1. / Alan won the Driver’s World Championship driving a Williams FW07 in 1980 through his wins in the Argentine, French, British, Canadian, and United States Grand Prix. / The FW07 was further developed during the following years into the FW07B and finally the FW07C as pictured here. Best viewed large I took this shot at a recent historic event at Silverstone…and played about with it just a bit in Photoshop! / The car and sky were in the same original image, but I ‘introduced’ the bushes in the far distance from another image and brought the sky down a little in order to remove people, and other cars that were in the background. / I also had to be very patient, as every so often somebody would stop by and peer into the car getting in the way of my shot! I hope you like the result. Featured in ‘Cars, Motorbikes and Motorsports’ group Nikon D80. Nikkor 18-135mm. 1/1250 f8

  • I’d never been to a bike meeting before today, and I know little about specific models etc, but I like most things with an engine…especially if they have some history, so if I have this wrong, I’d be happy to be corrected. This (I believe) is a 500cc Manx Norton circa 1954 still doing what it was built for – racing! This is my first attempt at photographing bike racing, so just getting some half-decent shots was my intention today – I think I’ve bagged a few worth uploading, so here’s the first! Nikon D80. Sigma 70-300mm APO. 1/500th f/10 ISO 1250
