In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. In my search for Sydney letterboxes ,) I come across moments and opportunities. So, I am beginning a collection of some of these inner City Sydney moments: ‘Blink and You’ll Miss It’ - This image was recently used by DannyNolan in his journal entry EPIC / It’s a great read so check it out. / - Although this might look like a feral inner city cat, he was simply yawning after dozing on a possibly warm motorcycle engine on the first sunny and dry day in Sydney in what seemed like weeks. The other shots I took are friendly and sleepy…but this was a killer. Thanks to MBartworks for the cool title.

Band playing in the Red Carpet Lounge of the Pitts Motor Hotel in the 1950’s. “In the sixties, the Pitts Hotel was a showplace, and Cornelius Pitts was one of Washington’s most successful black entrepreneurs. His hotel attracted not only tourists and traveling businessmen but local customers, black and white. They lined up at the Red Carpet Lounge, which featured valet parking and a maitre d’, to listen to the likes of Aretha Franklin. “The place stayed packed,’ a former regular said. “The drinks weren’t that high. You didn’t feel like you were getting ripped off. The music was great. This easy trail, through a hemlock forest, crosses three small streams and leads behind the falls. the cool moist environment at the falls is perfect for salamanders and summer hikers. Trillium Gap Trail meanders through an old-growth hemlock forest, crosses three small streams and leads behind the 25 foot high waterfall. The cool moist environment at the falls is perfect for salamanders and summer hikers. / The hike is 3 miles roundtrip and considered moderate in difficulty. Access trail: Trillium Gap / Trailhead: From the parkway in Gatlinburg, turn at traffic light #8 and follow Historic Nature Trail into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Take Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail (no RVs or trailers; closed in winter ) to stop #5 where there is a large parking area.
