A quadtych I made up based on some photos I took at the Race Day in September at the Fort Lytton Motocross track here in Brisbane. The bikes were loud, fast, and airborne, what more could you ask from a lazy Sunday afternoon? Here we see 476 getting seriously airborne in a series of shots as he approaches the main jump in front of the crowds watching.

There I was, pressed hard against the fence to squeeze every last millimetre from my Zoom as a spread out bunch of riders came roaring around the far turn and began negotiating the jumps. I bit my lip in anticipation waiting to get as many riders as possible in shot over the jumps until the leaders were just too close to wait any more, so here it is. The race is well a truly ON! The photograph was made at the Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club track at Port Macquarie , NSW, Australia, on a warm to hot summer’s day. I was out with two of my Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club mates for the last meet of the year and we tried all the best vantage points along the fence, each of us coming home with some good shots on our cards. What I really like about the final result is the great separation of the riders, the background dust and the way the riders stand out in the long, tight crop. Went to watch these awesome dudes doing freestyle motorcross jumps at Brydone last weekend. Haven’t really done many shots like this before, as you know I’m a macro gal…...but I’m really happy with how this turned out.
