Todd Kelly, of the Holden Racing Team, in action at the Oran Park round of the Australian V8 Supercar Championship.
This historic Formula 1 car was the first non-European car to win a grand prix. It did so at the 1965 Mexico round of the championship. The image was taken at the 2007 Sydney International Motor Show, where Honda had the fully restored car on display.

/ . / Went out to the race track for the first time in many years. I took the usual race shots, but thought I would try something different. The photographer was working on the side of the track. Nikon D700 / 70-210mm Lens / ISO 200

Telstra Rally Australia / Perth / Western Australia A Ford Focus WRC car driven by Czech Roman Kresta is thrown flat chat around a dusty bend during Rally Australia.
World Rally Championship photographer is shot whilst capturing the eventual winners of Rally Australia Co Driver Jamo Lehtinen at wheel and Driver Mikko Hirvonen behind.
Telstra Rally Australia. / These images are between 2004 and the last event in 2006. From 1988 up until 2006 inclusive, this round of the World Rally Championships was conducted in Western Australia. This extraordinary successful event was, in the main, organised and run by some 2000 volunteer officials. Right to the end these officials received world acclaim for innovation, safety and professionalism and were presented with numerous awards including, on three occasions, the prestigious “Rally of the Year”. This calender is dedicated to those very hard working officials without whom the event would not have occurred let alone this calender. I am proud to have been a part of that team. The cover shows: / (clockwise from top left) / Satisfied spectators, Ford Driver Mikko Hirvenon, Finland; Citroen Driver Sebastion Loeb, France; Subaru Driver Chris Atkinson, Australia; Ford Driver Marcus Gronholm, Finland, a happy Miss Rally Australia Winner and Subaru Driver Petter Solberg, Norway. The purchase price quoted is in Australian Dollars. For those purchasing from within Australia the postage cost will be around Aus$6.00. Overseas postage MAY be more. Note also that due to online ordering calendars will be a very limited edition. If you have trouble purchasing online please contact me on hawk023@gmail.com
I was a young fashion photographer’s assistant who had also photographed racehorses trained by my father. ITV heard the story and wanted to interview me with pictures of girls and horses. In this picture shot for Biba’s, a world famous boutique in Kensington High Street in the 60’s, I decided to combine them both. I borrowed the 20mm lens and the 250 exposure back from my boss, John Cowan, whose studio was used in the 1966 cult film Blow-Up and set off for Sussex. The 20mm lens had only just been introduced and was the first of it’s kind. Not easy to do with these games… Feeling a bit nostalgic for Scalextric and other racing games I grew up with. If you’re feeling like a bit more reckless you might be ‘getting off track’.. Taken at an Open Day at a local performance car specialist. A Porsche 911 racing car and a TVR Sagaris. Mouthwatering! Nikon D80. Nikkor 18-135mm
1956 Porsche 356 A . Shot number one from this years’ Historic Motor Sports Association event in Reno and Fernley, NV. The next three days are at the track – see you there… Nikon D50, Tokina 12-24mm.
Andy Warhol style retro car print, photoshopped from a photo of what i’ve been assured is a very cool old Toyota (even if I can’t see it and the guy who told me might be a teesy bit biased!)
For all you fuel injected, doubled pumper, push rods out there, the shirt that explains the correlation between V8s and your manhood!
Historic racing is not a collection of old cars being taken around the circuit at a moderate pace – they were built to race, and as this shot shows, their owners like to race them hard! / Here, a lightweight Jaguar E-Type leads two AC Cobras at Silverstone. Featured in ‘Historic Motor Racing Photography Worldwide’ group Nikon D80. Sigma 70-300 APO. 1/1000 f8
trashed up the bmw logo.
This Williams FW07 was driven by the Australian F1 World Champion Alan Jones during the 1979 and 1980 seasons. / Alan was to drive this car to win the Drivers World Championship in 1980 through wins in the Argentine, French, British, Canadian, and United States Grand Prix. I took this shot at a recent historic event at Silverstone…and played about with it just a bit in Photoshop! / The car and sky were in the same original image, but I ‘introduced’ the bushes in the far distance from another image and brought the sky down a little in order to remove people, and other cars that were in the background. / I also had to be very patient, as every so often somebody would stop by and peer into the car getting in the way of my shot! I hope you like the result. Nikon D80. Nikkor 18-135mm. 1/1250 f8
I’d never been to a bike meeting before today, and I know little about specific models etc, but I like most things with an engine…especially if they have some history, so if I have this wrong, I’d be happy to be corrected. This (I believe) is a 500cc Manx Norton circa 1954 still doing what it was built for – racing! This is my first attempt at photographing bike racing, so just getting some half-decent shots was my intention today – I think I’ve bagged a few worth uploading, so here’s the first! Nikon D80. Sigma 70-300mm APO. 1/500th f/10 ISO 1250
