This was just a lucky catch. My wife got some tulips for her birthday and I took one out as the sun was setting to try a get a nice shot. I put the vase down & as soon as I turned my back I heard the hummer behind me, I turned back around and had time to get off one shot before she realized she wasn’t interested in tulips. / Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona, with a Canon 20D. Ooh, I do love birds… I was tempted to plonk a boat into this, but I resisted, I felt it had all it needed with the birds, the water, and the wonderful moon in that bright red sky… I totally am having way too much fun.. ;-)
Location: Beirut, Lebanon
Surfing just before dawn. The water color comes from the dawn light reflecting off high clouds in the sky. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/15 second / f/4 / ISO 50 Panning and trying to keep the surfer in one spot in the frame produces the fluidity and quality to the water.
A group of ducks fly by in the dawn and captured with a panned slow shutter speed exposure near the breakwater of Santa Barbara, California. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/10 second / f/8

Late afternoon at Port Willunga South Australia. Looking out towards the setting sun through the remains of the Old Jetty structure. Not overly sure about the colours here, strange evening with orange red clouds and just dark enough to get a slight amount of motion in the foreground. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, CIR Polarising filter coupled with an ND4. Wet legs and a wet tripod, standing out in the water trying to avoid waves!!!!!!
A friend and I attended the Wa:k Pow Wow at the San Xavier Mission south of Tucson, Arizona. The dancing and the costumes were spectacular. I couldn’t figure out how to show the motion of a dancer in a still photo until I came up with this idea. Texture layers are free on stock.xchng.com. Photographed with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ 28. / “Red Fringe Dancer” was featured in: / RETIRED AND HAPPY – 4 A DAY LIMIT/August, 2009 / VISUAL ARTISTS OF GREEN VALLEY/August, 2009 / /
I just love the muted but colorful tones on this shot taken through a wet bus window. Hope you like it too. This reminded me of a Renoir painting, The Umbrellas Thank you to The Human Condition and the I Love Italy groups for featuring this work!

Please see RoyAllenHunt’s written piece: Are You Ok With This. His incredible song is a compliment to this piece. See here for how I created this shot. I really thought I would wait at least two weeks before I tried this again, but then I went hunting in the pantry and found more dye and well, curiosity and motivation got the better of me tonight! Red and green dye this time around. Green was dropped in first, and allowed to swirl around a fair bit, then the red came in. It looked so much like blood coursing through someone, or something..
