This was just a lucky catch. My wife got some tulips for her birthday and I took one out as the sun was setting to try a get a nice shot. I put the vase down & as soon as I turned my back I heard the hummer behind me, I turned back around and had time to get off one shot before she realized she wasn’t interested in tulips. / Captured in Cave Creek, Arizona, with a Canon 20D. Late afternoon at Port Willunga South Australia. Looking out towards the setting sun through the remains of the Old Jetty structure. Not overly sure about the colours here, strange evening with orange red clouds and just dark enough to get a slight amount of motion in the foreground. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, CIR Polarising filter coupled with an ND4. Wet legs and a wet tripod, standing out in the water trying to avoid waves!!!!!!
Surfing just before dawn. The water color comes from the dawn light reflecting off high clouds in the sky. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/15 second / f/4 / ISO 50 Panning and trying to keep the surfer in one spot in the frame produces the fluidity and quality to the water.

Ooh, I do love birds… I was tempted to plonk a boat into this, but I resisted, I felt it had all it needed with the birds, the water, and the wonderful moon in that bright red sky… I totally am having way too much fun.. ;-)

These are a strong breed of daisies and while some seem to be dying off others are reborn and are exploding with joy. :-)
Another dawn surfing shot with a little more blur and motion to the surfer.
This is a motion shot. No editing was done other than basic RAW file conversion. It was shot at a slow shutter speed, with circular movement to the camera to create the effect of implied motion. / The subjects are strawberry plants in late fall. And yes, this is their color and they remain this color right now (picture taken at beginning of December for a photography class assignment on Implied Movement). / The effect was designed to mimic the leaves blowing in the wind (with a slow shutter speed of course). / Camera: Canon EOS 1D M3, Lens: Canon Lens EF 24-105 IS USM / Aperture: f/22, 1.5s -1 EV / ISO 50, Focal length 105
