“Big love” was featured in the group All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical. This photo of the mother Giant Panda and her baby was taken in San Diego Zoo, California. The Giant Panda is an endangered species and highly threatened. According to the latest report (2007), China has 239 giant pandas in captivity (128 of them in Wolong and 67 in Chengdu), and another 27 pandas living outside the country. It also estimated that around 1,590 pandas are currently living in the wild. However, a 2006 study, via DNA analysis, estimated that there might be as many as 2,000 to 3,000 pandas in the wild. Though reports show that the numbers of wild pandas are on the rise, the World Conservation Union (IUCN) believes there is not enough certainty to remove pandas from the endangered animal list. / Source: Wikipedia

When my grandson was born, my daughter’s first born, I captured this first moment. I thought it would make an adorable card, for new moms.

My granddaughter, Theresa. One day old. She arrived on her due-date! I took this of my daughter and grandbaby after a long day of labor and delivery. Karin was exhausted and after numerous posed pictures with family that day she finally grabbed Theresa and took her to bed with her. Even though she was sleeping, I couldn’t help but be so proud of her and just had to snap this photo. Who wouldn’t look up to a daughter who had just delivered the most beautiful baby one could ever ask for? This photo was featured in the group, “Mood and Ambience” on 3-30-09.
