Mother nature presented me on a last October evening with one of those sunsets that you can hope to see just once a year if you’re lucky. / High layers of scattered clouds, a pure, clean atmosphere and the fact that at the end of october the twilight lasts almost a hour, all this elements contributed in producing a stunning natural show. This is the Po River near to Carignano in Piedmont, Italy. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for dropping by. Paolo
I was just having some fun with a sketch I did at work one day.
Painting inspired by cherry blossom.
my tribute to the relationship of mother and child.
What a sight this was, the sky was burning orange! I love how the city looks so small compared to that enormous storm cloud… this was taken at ascot, looking over Brisbane 17.05.08 at 4:55 pm just as the sun was setting… This storm was incredible to watch, until i had to run back to the car because the wind was going to pick me and my camera up + within minutes the city wasn’t visible anymore…
This elderly woman sits at the window and contemplates the world outside. She does not see far beyond the window frame because her world has diminished considerably. Two years ago she was officially diagnosed with dementia after a life threatening surgery and long hospital stay. However, her family and friends noticed a difference in her personality over the last several years. Once a proud and hard working single mom, she raised two children during the 60’s and 70’s at a time when single parenthood was not as widely accepted as it is today. At present, she is reduced to little more than the passive demeanor of a quiet child. She is aware of the reduction in both her mental and physical abilities. She also understands that she is helpless to change anything. / It takes great courage to face the inevitable. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia; it accounts for 64 per cent of all dementias. For example right now in the US, Alzeihmer’s has surpassed diabetes and is the sixth leading cause of death. As baby boomers are rapidly approaching the age of retirement it is believed that 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. Currently, there are more than 24 million people in the world with dementia—this is estimated to rise to 81 million by the year 2040.6 / Statistics taken from both the Canadian and American Alzeihmer’s Society. / Published by Redbubble in Compassion, Courage and Friendship book October 2008 / Compassion, Courage & Friendship Top Ten in the Mood & Ambience, The Seated Human challenge, July 2009 / Featured in the Nirvana group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the RB Buyer’s Booth November 2008 / Featured in the Stillness Speaks group November 2008 / Featured on RB homepage on November 25/08 / The Fine Art of Photography

Dear friends… Per the request of my dear friend Sarah Moore I am re-uploading a dream request I created for her and her family in the honor of her baby boy Axel. Sarah…since the day you asked me to create your dream request of your sweet Axel…was the day I felt like Axel stepped into my heart. I’ve never put so much passion into one image in my life. And to explain in more detail…it takes me some time to create a new image…but when I created this of your boy…everything came to me like 2nd nature. I really and truly feel in my heart, that a little helper was at my side when I made this. I wanted to tell you this when I first created it for you…but knew how emotional the times were…so with that…I am once again honored to share the spirit of Axel! Many of you will remember, and some of you may be new to the news of Sarah Moore’s little boy Axel. Please read below. Sad news …This is Rosalie, Sarah’s mum writing on Sarah’s behalf. / Locals may have heard already on the news of the drowning of a 15mth old in the northwest of Sydney. This is Axel, Sarah and Glen’s little son. / As you can imagine everyone is devestated. One never expects it to happen in your own family … / Please feel free to leave messages here if you feel so moved – they are rather overwhelmed with calls and all the due processes right now but do appreciate the care that their friends are offering. / Feel free to bubblemail me directly (RosalieDale) if you have any questions or any direct messages – I’ll check in a couple of times a day just to check for mail. / Thank you all … / Rosalie Sarah’s Heart Felt Thanks / I finally have a few minutes to catch my breath and thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts, prayers and incredible generosity. The Redbubble community have been amazing and all my family and friend have commented on the love and support demonstrated by you all. / I thought as so many of you couldn’t be with us at the funeral to celebrate Axel’s life, that I would put the transcript here along with some pictures. / There were over 300 people at the funeral from all over Australia. Please click on this Link to continue reading. Sarah & Family…although little Axel is not here physically, he is here for you spiritually…and I feel truly in my heart that he is as happy as ever…_visiting his favorite orange tree, being an adventurer…and yes still a bad dancer, but still moving to the beat. Love you Sare…you know I’m always here for you! xoxo Here are some personal favorite pictures of Axel (if you would like to comment, you can click on the pictures). / I would also like to say Happy Birthday to Sarah’s other son TY…today he is the exact same age as Axel the day he he took his journey! / While once again looking through the beautiful images of axel…I noticed the amazing genorosity created by others in the memory of sweet Axel. I provided the links below… There are also so many BEAUTIFUL writings pertaining to sweet little axel…if you would like to read them…just type Axel in the search engine! Imagine if you will, a door / There is nothing special about this door / Its white, with a handle at its centre / Just like any other door Imagine now that the door swings open / Revealing a field of flowers / Spread as far as the eye can see Imagine then that there is a path / Which winds its way through the field / Meandering here and there / With no real purpose And on the path is a gorgeous little boy / His golden hair is mussed in the wind / And his laughter rings out to you across the field You start to call out to him / To call him back / But he is on a journey / To places where you can’t follow Your heart breaks realising you must let him go / That he is strong and brave / Embarking on a never-ending adventure Gently you close the door / Knowing that you can open it at any time / To watch him, to remember / With tears streaming down your face / You whisper “Be safe little one” Written by the mother of Axel…Sarah Moore /
A beautiful poem written by my wonderful, talented friend Lina…you inspire us all! / / Tree Nature / She kept growing beyond her means / what I mean is, / she kept growing beyond what she desired yesterday, / she thought / if only, / If only I was … better at this…. Problem was she did become better at everything / she desired to become better at! / and still, more / would call her forth like a tree in the forest.. / she fell so many times / yet, none seem to hear her falling / her pain / her fears except maybe her own heart. That felt lonely. Until, / One day she looked deep within / And it was here / She saw and felt / Her tree nature appear / Like a totem / A solemn answer / To the questions she brought / forth She branched out within herself / And the expectations began to subside / What she discovered was / She was best at growing / Some would call it expanding. If she could learn to live in the moments / Between desire, expansion desire.. / She thought perhaps I could find a balance / Of sorts, / Contentment at best / Liberation from her limitless / Limits!! After all, she was like a tree / Happiest when she was in the process / Of Becoming!! / It was only in the thought that she needed to arrive Anywhere That pain seemed to preside / And fear would rear So she planted her feet squarely underneath her and / Allowed her tree nature to shine through. All manner of miracles happened then. / She discovered the art of / Allowing / And her Art, the very core of all that she was and is, / Flourished / Because she knew, She, / Like a tree, Just kept on growing, / Until growing became knowing Knowing, We are never finished and we are never done. Mother and child Great Blue Heron as night falls . . . I thought of the song, “Help me make it through the night” while I worked on this piece. I’d be remiss if I didn’t give my husband Tommy credit for this photo. He saw the mother and child as he was driving in St. Mary Parish. He pointed them out to me, turned the vehicle around, and positioned the truck so I could get this shot. Without his keen eyes, I would have missed this endearing scene. Thank you, Tommy; I couldn’t do it without you!
Pastel on Colourfix paper (burgundy) 70cm x 50cm The lichen growing on the trunk of this tree intertwined with the bark colours for some reason just reminded me of ‘tapestry’! This is a ‘red gum’ eucalypt growing in the cleared area at the bottom of our property and I pass it each day on my morning walk. / original drawing on A3 acid free cartridge paper A drawing which has been digitally coloured, in which a little friend of the forest is overwhelmly touched by the beauty of a particular very old and majestic tree. She spontaneously expresses her love and gratitude with a symbolic hug, revealing her love for her surrounds during a moonlit walk. Just the thing for friends, children, nursery, birthdays, special occasions and something a little different perhaps for an unusual Christmas card.
