Words of love and lust
Lily reflection
The words of truth and the images of love.
Petals taken from a gerbera flower.
The wonder and the colour of the rainbow, dripping into the daisy!
I wanted to create mood here. Let the imagination run wild. One of two.
The glory of the sunflower and the wonder of the sunset!
Tulip of the spring brought together with the sanitary environment of the loo!
A perfect gift of love, a treasure to behold and to cherish. From the hands of a child, given with love and honour.. my first flower from my son!
Flowers after Rain.
Its a rainy day..

Steer II (Missy Higgins) / / Pencil drawing, digital colouring The Golden Elephant – story and art by Karin Taylor / A long long time ago in a tropical land where the papaya grow wild and free, there lived a golden elephant who’s beauty was unsurpassed. All the creatures were mesmerised by what appeared to be the sun entering the water when she swam and when she walked on the land everyone stepped aside, as elephants were revered. Legend has it, the golden elephant was once a beautiful warrior princess. Once, in midst of of a terrible battle with her enemy about to take her life, she made a wish that she could become an elephant, for then no harm would come to her. The beautiful warrior princess was granted her wish, tho could sadly not return to her human form, and so it was that the golden elephant lived forever, bringing warmth and light wherever she went. During the darkest nights when the stars hid and the moon disappeared, the beautiful golden elephant shone like the sun, lighting the way for pilgrims on their journey. Although very happy she got what she wished for, the golden elephant found herself still thinking the grass was sometimes greener on the other side. Indeed she would have liked to be human again. But she accepted her new role and did the best she could with her gift of light. / A few years ago when my daughter Sarah was very young, she had a little dolly called Hamble whom she treated as her younger sister… Sarah has never forgiven me for cutting the dolls hair and painting her face in a similar tribal style, however I still maintain I would never have painted Hamble and that it was another dolly of much less importance to her!! Here is a part portion of a larger painting I’m currently working on. I liked the how effective her face was cropped in a frame, so I’ve uploaded it as a work to stand on it’s own, eventually I’ll finish the full work and upload it here also :) /
/ / Vintage Christmas / / Forest / / Reindeer Dreaming Pencil drawing on brown paper, coloured digitally I’ve been out looking for Christmas cards and not finding much out there that I liked, I made this little card in a vintage style, for all the girls that love vintage stuff and wanna give their girlfriends Vintage Christmas Wishes just tried to make something I’d like to give my friends really and the face and hair are a lot like me (although my eye colour is brown) This design also comes without the text, please let me know if you’d prefer that option.
/ A little drawing I made this afternoon, coloured digitally, lots of light hearted fun :) Looks like all she needed was a night out on the town! Hope you like Glamour Puss! /
/ Girls Night Out / variation on the theme / Powder Room / third variation in the series of 3 Media pencil drawing coloured digitally, background created fro the original sepia drawing to resemble cork a little legend who wears peacock feathers in her hair…i wonder what her story is…i bet it’s fascinating….perhaps there’s a little bit of you and a little bit of me in her….i’d like to think so. art as therapy….definitely, this piece was therapeutic…... i was lost in 3 hours of whimsy when i created this between 11pm and 2am this morning…. it so pleased me to use peacock feathers, we have had a vase of them in mum’s house from as long back as i can remember…and below you will see a little picture of my mum when she was a little girl posing for a photo with her peacock feather fan…i have always loved this picture of my mum. From what I understand she is on her way to a dance, all dressed up in kimono as a dear little geisha… a red haired one with curls to die for…mum i hope you like this….dedicated to you with love … xxx So you see, that kimonos, peacock feathers and the love of beautiful adornments have been intriguing me my whole life, my mum is so creative and sews beautifully, and used to make a dresses for herself and me, she would be sure to purchase extra fabric to make me a little dress in a different style to hers, to bond us closer as mother and daughter…what a lovely thought / / My mum Sal with her peacock feather fan dressed up in kimono
/ / Powder Room is a good one for a Hen’s night!! it’s a pencil drawing coloured digitally, background created fro the original sepia drawing to resemble cork This is a variation of the recently uploaded piece...she wore peacock feathers in her hair and Girls Night Out

\ / / This little one has a bit of a vintage Christmas vibe to it, so I’ve named her Vintage Wings a nice alternative Christmas Card perhaps… or just a sweet card/print /
\ / / Fancy Dress – a mixed media drawing and collage on calico fabric. Her face and arms are the only things drawn, using coloured pencils, pastels, watercolour crayons, marker pens. Her wings are fashioned from tiny white leaf veins The dress and her hair are crafted from felt, the trims are bits and pieces, such as lace, feathers, tiny white pebbles for the necklace and wooden shapes for her shoes peeping out. She has then been enhanced digitally, and this changed the creamy calico to a pink/salmon satin look which i was quite taken with. Christine my friend has inspired me yet again, with all the wonderful magazines she’s just given me, and my old love for cloth dolls has resurfaced…so much so that i tried to recreate a fashionable vintage cloth doll (without all the sewing) and so, i have simply layed one piece over another and carefully transferred it to where i could photograph it and then work on the rest in photoshop. I wasn’t going to load anything new prior to Christmas as thought i’d be fully immersed in family outings and such, but it’s turned out they’ve given me some lovely time to myself and spoiled me rotten….bringing me lunch in the studio and doing all my chores so i can draw! What a delightful little family I have :)
