This wall-hanging was made using coconut husks, sun-bleached seaweed, Khaya (African mahogany) seed pods, sticks, gum nuts, casuarina (She oak) seed pods, paper bark, shells, eucalyptus bark and shellgrit.

This painting has an interesting story… two weeks ago I painted the background, then I made the very random swirled golden network of lines, with no particular idea as to subject matter, and put the painting away to allow ideas to emerge…..a few days ago, as I started to work on it, filling in the spaces between the lines, again in a random manner, the face began to emerge…all the pieces fell into place like a puzzle, exactly as if I had consciously designed it to be so...... a clear member of the “Wild Women” collection…the poem was written after I posted the painting and is an ironical piece, speaking to the fragmented lives that all women lead…split off in all directions, with a million different ties that bind Inks and Gouache on Arches Not Paper… I’m better in pieces than whole / Whole is simple, uncomplicated, dull don’t you know!.. / I’m better in fragments, and shards.. / See…much nicer to pick at one piece at a time… / I’m better in slivers and scraps… / A piece here, a piece there, another over here… / I can spread myself thin, give to all a little bit.. / But where is the morsel that’s just meant for me?....Janis Zroback…Mosaic / The Temptation / The Party / The Beauty / Deep Blue / October Eve / It’s you darling / Norwegian Wood / The Cameo..Unpublished / The Masquerade..Unpublished / The Confession
