It’s that time of the week again already, and this week there are two important additions to the site today. Gaia, the book, is now on sale. It looks fantastic, get your copy from the RedBubbble Store. For more information, and a list of those published, please see this post. Even bigger news is that today we have launched a new take on RedBubble’s continued exploration of New Art. We see this art as a move away from art bestowed upon us to art that ultimately embraces all of us as co-equals in its creation and interpretation. The publications ‘In the Moment’ and ‘Gaia’ were part of this exploration. The new work ‘PAX’ is an online Mosaic of 16,384 images from RedBubble artists that aims for a collective beauty that is no greater than any single one of its components. It is an art work that is complete on the Web, fully harnessing the power and potential of this medium in its creation and in its display. Enjoy! - Pilgrim

  • Taken in the Queen Victoria Building, Sydney. HDR created with tonal contrast enhancement. Nikon D300 with Nikon 17-200 lens.

  • This is the first time I have put this image up for viewing or for sale. It is an amazing image that has taken me many hours of work to complete. It is a womans face made up of over Nine thousand (yes 9000) individual images, all toned to match the features on her beautiful face. Unusually all the images are of breasts and lingerie of every colour, shape and size you could imagine. To be view properly it has to be as large as possible…I have personally printed it up to A0…but even at A1 it looks amazing…it is a true conversational piece! The image that will be uploaded with this image shows just the detail around the eye.

  • Taken in the Great Barrier Reef over 100 nautical miles from Cairns Australia. To be published in National Geographic’s ‘Your Shot’ section of the December issue.

  • I’ve finally got around to painting in a background to this image, and digitally remastering the figure as well… / The version of Tessellation 1 that I originally posted here had a background created in Photoshop, while the painting itself was blank apart from the female figure. Not any more! / I’ve submitted this for an upcoming exhibition – details of that to follow. / This is all hand painted and features a lot of metallics golds and coppers….It is extremely detailed – right down to the tiniest patterns in the centre….It took ages….Hope you enjoy… / Compare with the original posting below /
