I finally decided to upload this design. / It sold out on laFraise.com so is now available here. / Enjoy!
You buy your first stilettos, four inches high and fire engine red. You can’t quite strut in them yet, but you will.
The world breaks everyone, and many are strong at the broken places. / Ernest Hemingway I hid this for a long time. Mostly because I sent it off to a publisher, but also because it’s without a doubt my most personal piece on RB. It was accepted by the publisher and recently I read it aloud at the book launch. Yasemin Sumner (who also had a story published in the same book) and Luckyvegetable said my voice didn’t tremble at all. I think they were being kind. After all, when you read your diary out to a room full of strangers, you’re allowed to shake a bit.

Saw a great swath of poppies in the distance. But do you think I could find them. With dusk fast approching I at last found this small field. There was a gusty breeze though so no possibility of macros.
Shot from beneath, afternoon sun coming through mini-blinds stripes this Tree Philodendron leaf (Philodendron Selloum) . While it appears very vibrant green from beneath, the top side shown in the uncropped original version is decidely less exciting. Other than cropping, this photo was left as shot from the camera. It is also available on RB in a black and white version entitled, Shadow Play. Winner of Bubble Jeopardy challenge: Naturally Green!! My first RB challenge win. Yowsa! To all my fellow Bubble Jeopardy players, thanks so much for all your guesses and votes on this one!!! Best, deanne Canon Rebel XT Visit MORPHING DREAMS

To appreciate fully, see extra large view here Storm clouds, which I saw as symbolic of the misery caused by drug addiction, hang over this poppy crop in Tasmania. The atmosphere here at the time, due to fading light and drizzle was totally miserable. The fences around these crops carry government warnings of the legal implications for theft and mis-use of the crop. In Tasmania, the crop is grown for the production of morphine, codeine and thebaine. These alkaloids are extracted from the poppy straw and used in the manufacture of pain killing drugs and in cough mixtures. The seed of the morphine plant can also be used in cooking and the Tasmanian variety can be recognised by its distinctive blue-grey colour. Seed from thebaine-enhanced poppies is not sold for culinary purposes. Link Canon 40D 18-55 IS

Featured in Unconventional Artistry This is a mesh fencing covered walkway leading to a back entrance at UCSF Medical Center. My daughter worked there as a molecular biologist and took me with her to work one day. I liked this image and found it fun to play with a bit. The ominous feeling of going into an unknown and back way to a medical facility, plus being in earthquake territory inspired the concept and title. This color version is edited with more spin effect than the black and white version of the same photo. Canon Rebel XT Visit MORPHING DREAMS

There was an indie film a few years back that came out after Columbine. It followed these kids around through their everyday school lives- literally there would be 5, 10 solid minutes of the kid walking down the hall, etc. In the end the school is broken out in chaos when two boys bring guns to school and start shooting students and teachers. It’s very eye-opening. / The movie was called “Elephant.” / My business teacher was on the subject of Columbine one day and refered to the boys who shot the place up as “crazy.” This pissed me off. Because It just gives more evidence to the fact that no one pays any attention to how fucked up higschool is. How fucked up life is. / The film has the very same message as my painting. There are pieces of wallpaper clippings to portray the “room” of which the elephant roams. / This goes hand in hand with my writing “Ode to My Nazi-fuck Highschool”. The (Elephant in the Room is jabbing his arm with a herion needle.) http://www.elephantmovie.com/ In Memory of Cruz Bowman / Blaze Ya Dead Homie.
