Can you feel the coolness in this shot….? Taken in almost pitch blackness and between rain showers…Sometimes, while on location I think – what the hell am I doing here ?...cold, grey, wet, waves threatening to wash me off the rocks !! / This shot re-enforces to me why I do it and why I keep going back for more and more…...
I was having my coffee this morning on the balcony while watching the rain and it gave me an idea so here it is! This was taken of the rain coming down on the balcony balustrade with the clouds in the background. I know that there are lots of amazing captures of splashes here on RB but this image really wasn’t about the splash, to me, it was more about the capture of morning rain. Best viewed large :o) Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens, 5.6f / exposure 1/320 / processed in RAW
Night approaches along the rugged Bass Straight coast. Stormy greyness and a big swell surging over the black basalt rocks with a longish 20 seccond exposure in the near darkness….Sister shot to the one below – thanks for all your comments and feedback – much appreciated….rgs, Rob.
The rock stands steadfast against the elements at Cape Schank on the Mornington Peninsula.
Happy New Year to all my friends on Red Bubble…here’s to a year full of inspiration and asperations…...Another addition to my recent Eagles Nest dawn series as per below. I love how the clouds parted in this shot in sort of biblical proportions..!!..Great light to shoot with….thanks for having a look..
Sunset along the Mornington Peninsula N.P. Coast..Taken after some great storm light as per some recent uploads..
Dragon Head rock…...well, it’s my name for this rock feature down our rough and rugged coastline….The shot below was taken quite some time ago and I’d always been meaning to get back to this spot again….Timed it nicely on this particular day as the storm clouds and light went wild – I love it when this happens – 1 min prior to this, it was pissing down rain and I was huddled under an umbrella out on the rock shelf, a few thunderclaps here and there..!! / As always, thanks for having a look and comments always appreciated…cheers, Rob..
After flooding my PF with my recent Tas. collection…It’s good to be back home taking shots in my backyard again. I never tire of this area as every day is always different with the changing seasons and moods of the weather.. / Mornington Peninsula ~ Victoria ~ Aus….thanks for having a look and best rgs, Rob.
Pulpit Rock in the background with a beautiful deep rock pool in the forground. The light really did wonders with a stormish sky and some good contrasty side lighting to bring out the colors…Cape Schank ~ Mornington Peninsula ~ Vic. Aus…thanks for looking….cheers, Rob..
As the unpredictable and unrelenting waves crash in from the coast at sunset, I photographed this just before getting absolutely saturated…for the second time. / It was well worth it to see and experience the power of the ocean, even though it was a long trip home in wet clothes. / This was shot at 10mm. I couldn’t find any other way to shoot this without being part of the ocean, hence the wet drive home :-) I appreciate you taking time to view my work, and I really enjoy reading your comments. / Thanks for visiting :-) Photograph Details / Canon 40D w/ EF-S 10-22mm / Focal length: 10mm / ISO: 100 / Shutter: 0.8 sec / Aperture: f/8 / Filters: ND Grad / Flinders Coast, Victoria Collaboration / Please check out Erika’s poem, Rushing Rivers which goes so well with my photo.

What lurks deep under this rock ledge..?? A beautiful deep rock pool along the Mornington Peninsula Coast. It goes back a fair bit under the rocky outcrop so I’m busting to dive in and find out how deep it actually goes – just because I’m curious..!!
After shooting the early light of the morning down at Cape Schanck I thought I’d take a quick shot of the sun light reflecting off the large boulders in this little cove. I love the warm colours and shapes of wet boulders in the sun. If you ever go down to this place when the tied is high and the weather a little on the wild side, the massive waves that come crashing in to this little space throw these boulders around making an awesome rumbling sound. A must see if you live close enough to the Mornington Peninsula.
