steaming fumeroles with the mists of dawn, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA the burned tree in the foreground shows what most of the trees farther back look like. they are remnants of the tremendous naturally caused burn of 1988, when more than 300,000 hectares went up in flames. as you can see, it has taken 20 years for the reforesting process to reach this stage. nikon D200

Freezing fog morning. Malvern Hills, Worcestrshire, United Kingdom. Everything was covered with frost crystals that morning, it was amazing sight. Unfortunately the mist has risen quickly above the tops of the Hills and everything got back to freezing greyness.
