A beautiful but bitter cold morning of -29c caused a stunning mist to dance along Okanagan Lake in Peachland, B.C., Canada. CENTRAL PARK Photo best viewed large. Central Park on a very foggy morning, March 17, 2009. / / / / “CENTRAL PARK” was featured in the group:#1 ARTISTS OF RED BUBBLE / / / “CENTRAL PARK” was featured in the group: / THE SCAVENGER HUNT / / Ashland, Kentucky, located in the NE part of the bluegrass state, boasts a 47-acre (190,000 m2) wooded park. Central Park was founded in 1854, with playgrounds and other amusements. In the spring of 1995, the pond was excavated, and later filled with water by September. The original water lilies that were planned in 1937 had come back in full bloom. Several fountains were added in the center of the park, and numerous fish species were added. The park today features an ice skating area, three separate children playgrounds, several baseball diamonds, a volleyball court and a traditional bandstand. Central Park also hosts an annual, holiday light show, the Winter Wonderland of Lights. The park is filled with lush greenery, flowers, and towering trees. /
Captured 12/13/2008 on a very frigid morning at Cherry Creek State Park, here in Colorado, I froze my damn keester off because I was dense and forgot to bring along my damn jacket! It was an incredible sunrise folks, one which I won’t forget, the colors changed and developed by the minute, going from the cool blues to the warm pinks, reds, and oranges…and I was able to get something in the shots which I had never had been able to before, the lake actually shimmering! In some of the other shots in days to come, you can really see this, and you kind of can here in the bottom left side a tad, an odd occurrence, and one I finally managed to snag! Long exposure, using my Singh-Ray CPL and Marumi ND4, on my Minolta 18-70 DT Lens, I hope ya all like it, let me know what ya think! / —-John !
Canadian geese taking off in the morning from Prospect Lake, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. I used my 70-300 lens for this capture, so they look like they’re really close. I also added some dry brush in PSE 3.
One more visit to the hoarfrosted world in Groeneveld park of last December, as so many of you reacted so enthusiastically to my submission of the little bridge there. With ever so many thanks for all delightful comments and favs! Some of you may wonder about the colours. This picture was taken just after sunrise when the light of the first sunbeams of the rising sun hit these trees, indeed creating this miraculous effect. So the miracle of the hoarfrost was enhanced by these first morning sunbeams, making it all into a really enchanted winter world. An early morning study of winter tree shape, just as we begin to break into Spring. This was taken just south of Ashbourne in Derbyshire on my way up to meet up with other UK bubblers in 2008, and I feel is my best image of the trip – well worth the early start for. Taken with a Sony A100, F4, 100th/sec, 75mm, ISO400, hand held, but resting on car roof for support This image has featured as image of the day on Fotopic.net, bringing over 500 extra views
