At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. The day summer arrived and it got stinking hot. This shot was taken at 5am and not a cloud in sight. The days temperature climbed up to 40.2°C in Brisbane. Summer is over is just over a week. This morning was certainly what I would expect in winter, crisp, vibrant and cloudless. Keep it coming…love it

In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. This image was taken at the same time and place as Morning but is slightly different in perspective and it does show a bit more of the road (for a current challenge). Taken on top of Blue Knob Mountain in Claysburg, PA with the Nikon D40x, using the 18-135mm lens on 9/20/08. Other than cloning off some dew drops, it’s pretty much as is from the camera.

*Sunflowers and Colorado Sunsets * Revisiting the Sunflower fields I miss so much, a magical place on the eastern plains of Colorado like no where else, a place one day I hope returns. As the front rage of the Colorado Rocky Mountains dances with the setting sun, this scene seemed something out a paradise lost, the kind of thing you only ever read about. On this day when shooting the sunset here, I shot over 400 shots and came back quite a few other times as well. Well worth it I would say! Day is mostly long just now 21.6, dark time is very little. I went in morning already before clock 3 rivers ashore, morning showed promising. On the river was magnificent fog, I expected sunrise, thick dark cloud covered however the skyline, this picture I took just sunrise time, only a little reddens behind the thick cloud.
