Morning rainbow, Jokulsarlon, Iceland Iceland / Belgium / Italy / France / Hungary / Spain / Sri Lanka / USA / London / Portraits / Other Jokulsarlon is a glacial lake that meets the sea in Iceland. One of the most beautiful places i have been on our little planet Earth. The tragedy is that this beautiful photo would not be possible without global warming. When in a cafe at a petrol station i saw a postcard of Jokulsarlon. One single large iceberg floating in the centre. As you can see now the lake is full. Note: The size if this work was increased using Photoshop CS2. / Best size being around the 50cm wide.

Shot this back in November, 2004, when the grass was much greener, and there was water in the dam. There’s only been water in that dam one other time since then, and it lasted around 6 weeks….this is a nice reminder of what we used to have…. Sold this a number of times pre-redbubble, mostly A3 size, and it won me a $1500 prize from the Brisbane City Council, as well the John Herbert medal at APSCON 2005, and also a number of other smaller prizes. This was sold december 2008 on redbubble as a matted print. I was off to take some photographs of some waterfalls in the Breacon Beacons in Wales when I almost missed this scene. Had there not been a break in the cloud I may have missed it. It was probably the best drive by shooting photograph I have to date. I’ve had a little play in photoshop and thought I’d post the results. / The original was shot using a Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 27mm, f/8, 1/60 sec, ISO 400. No filters used and mounted on the car door.
