Of the two albino squirrels that I shot this morning, one was still a little sleepy. I was trying to get a clear shot of his entire head, but I couldn’t get the angle needed. Still, that twig was gripped in the squirrel’s hind foot, so I guess it was a good trade-off. It was also a rare treat to catch this little critter sleeping. The more that I look at this picture, the more that I love it. I can’t look at it now without smiling. I also now tend to reflect upon the helplessness of nature as man continues to invade their environment. How many animals will lose their homes to man’s quest for more profit today, tomorrow, the years ahead?

A flight to Denver Colorado, a 5 hour drive to Togwotee Mountain Pass, USA at an altitude of 9767ft made for some spectacular scenary, but also made for the worst altitude sickness EVER. One by one our party fell ill, only I remained standing. I went out on Christmas Day, took various shots including this one from the car, I also took a video diary of the trip for everyone in bed. I should really dig it out as I remember they wern’t happy with my jolly commentary. Only after I got stuck in the snow did I begin to feel exceptionally ill. The trip was immediately cut short. I missed out on the Devils Tower Wyoming and Mount Rushmore. Dammit. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Canon 10D, 70-200mm at 135mm, f/9.5, 1/90 sec, ISO 200. No filters used and mounted on the car door. A small amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. The orange autumn sky and skeleton of a bare Walnut Tree – except for some scattered walnuts. Taken 9/26/09 at sunrise, Clarks Valley Road, Tower City, PA The natural color was an orange tint, I just tweaked it to make it more vibrant!
