  • This is again, from a drive through the back roads of the Dandenong ranges in Victoria. I was just driving around and stopping to photograph things that caught me eye (I wound up lost too). This is a plot of land behind a farmhouse near Seville.

  • On a frosty june morning I found myself to the top of a local range near Geranium in the Souther Mallee looking at one of the most brilliant sunrise’s I have ever seen. The warm glow of the sun across the clouds and the shifting light made me forget about the the freezing temperatures I was working in.

  • A large tree standing itself alone amidst all difficulties and natural calamities inspires me to become stronger.

  • At this particular spot the morning-light show on that July morning a few days ago here in the forests near Hilversum/The Netherlands was at its best, when the sunbeams were chasing the morning ghosts. After which trees were they hiding? – I was ever so lucky to find this place in time, as this show was a fleeting appearance. Proposed for “Pay if forward” (http://www.redbubble.com/groups/pay-it-forward) / by Byron. Near Laage Vuursche, 24th July 2008, 7,15 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 48 mm / F 10, 1/30, ISO 200

  • In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. I particularly like the fact that compared to a lot of fog shots it displays color, to I think, an advantage and shows the promise of a beautiful sunny summer day emerging… Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens Top Ten Placement in the Nikon D40 Users, Masterpiece challenge, September 2009 / Featured in the Nikon D40 Users group, July 2009 / Top Ten in the Journey or Destination challenge for the First Things group, July 2009 / Featured in the Outsiders, March 2009 / Featured in Canada: The Great White North group September 2008 / Featured in the Nirvana group September 2008 / Avatar for Shots In The Fog group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the 100% group. • Took this australia day morning as well..the fog & mist ‘hung’ around for the longest time that morning!! DebsPhotos

  • One of the benefits of doing night shift in winter time is getting home sometime past 7am after a cold night at work and being greeted by this wonderful sight. / The scattered eucalyptus in farm paddocks appearing out of the mist. / I have had this image on my computer for quite some time and I liked it (sort of) but the frame of mind never quite took me to do anything with it til now. / It didnt quite do it for me, so I decided to b&w it today. So I did the b&w thing, then cropped the top of it and then thought… “hey I like that crop, I wonder what it looks like in colour?” / So I went back to the colour and gave it the same crop and here it is. • Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper (burgundy) – 70cm x 50cm There is a radio program in Australia called ‘Macca on a Sunday Morning’, which explores all aspects of this country. There is a segment in it called ‘Why I live where I live’, and it got me thinking about where I live. I did this painting as part of a solo exhibition (‘My Easel and Eye’) which was held in 2005 and this was the first painting that was sold. Yesterday morning was a glorious autumn morning, and I went for my early morning walk. This same area of the bush looked exactly like this painting! • Misty haunting morning this morning, sitting in a pine plantation at Mt Burr in the Limestone Coast area of South Australia. Last hints of fog lifting as the sun rose towards a clear blue sky. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with ND4 filter. Three shot HDR converted in Photomatix and cropped to size. Damn it was cold!!!!!!!!!!

  • Out early this morning to watch the sun rise through the fog in a pine plantation at Mt Burr – Limestone Coast South Australia. Certainly worth the cold to see the beauty as the sun tried to force its way into the forest. Canon 400D 18 – 55 with ND4 filter. Processed in Photoshop CS3.

  • Taken near Anakie on a misty morning.

  • I took a bucketload of shots like this in the space of about 15 minutes on my way to work one winter morning. I’d never seen fog in 25 years of living in Japan and there was no way I could miss work that morning. Fortunately I had to pass through a park and just kept taking shots until I could delay no longer. I arrived at school with about a minute to spare! There will be more of these when I’ve sorted out which are best suited for this site.
