  • A morgue slab from a derelict mental asylum

  • A close up of a morgue slab in an abandoned mental asylum

  • A picture of the morgue slab and surroungind mortuary in an abandoned mental asylum

  • This metal drain you can see here is at the foot of a morgue slab, the blood drain to take away the liquids when an autopsy was performed. At least, this is one of them, this is one of the few asylums with more than one slab, again testament to just how many people were at this site.

  • I dread to think why you would need wellies working on a morgue, but these were found laying against the back wall in the room with the body fridges.

  • When your time comes….. / When the light beckons…... / When you make your final journey….. How will you arrive? Thanks to Miss O’Brien and Miss Tremp for modelling.

  • ©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 06/06/08. A Compullage™ work. This is a very sinister cityscape with lots of emotion, heat, and passion, all those things that make life interesting. Exotic intrigues in and out of the shadows where hearts are broken and lives are shattered all done over a glass of good wine. Thanks for looking, Seth.

  • Call the ambulance Carry me home

  • “A safe but sometimes chilly way of recalling the past is to force open a crammed drawer. If you are searching for anything in particular you don’t find it, but something falls out at the back that is often more interesting.” / James M. Barrie (1860 – 1937) Thanks to Melissa for ‘modelling’ :) —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / If you would like to purchase any of my art in a larger format, please contact me. • Self portrait

  • Junkyard Series Found image of creature. / [View Large]

  • This is the mortuary slab at this derelict asylum, the last place that many of the inmates would be before being taken away to be buried at the local cemetery.

  • Looking up the morgue slab from the bottom you can clearly see the wishbone design of the blood trench here, designed to carry the bloody away from the body while it was worked on. At the top centre of the slab you can see two protruding lumps, designed to hold the head up straight while the pathologist carries out the work, a unusual feature on a morgue slab.

  • Even after all the years of being left derelict, and all the dust collecting on it, the morgue slab still holds a strange sheen to it.

  • Morgue locker room.

  • You know him. You love him. Here he is. Another 1 hour portrait. Hope you dig it. Oils on 8” x 10” canvas panel.
