  • I just love Rocky Mountain National Park, spose I always have and always will, though I have to admit that at times I wish we had more clouds in the skies here in Colorado, but I suppose the infamous blues make up for that. The Rockies here just seemed so alive…in that morning light.,...damn that air is fresh I tell ya folks! Anyways, thoughts welcomed, processed in HDR

  • Moraine Lake, Alberta, Canada. About 10km from Lake Louise. Canada has some of the Worlds most unreal landscapes to photograph, only if you can handle to -30C temperature!

  • Lake Moraine
    by John Dekker

    US$3.42–US$91.20

One of the most stunning places to visit and photograph. It is in Alberta, Canada, deep in the magnificent Rockies. I took this nearly 20 years ago on my old Canon EOS630 SLR. I would probably compose this shot I little differently now, but back then I was young and photographically niave, nevertheless it remains one of my favourite shots, and one of my favourite destinations.

  • Mt Rainier Glacial Waters
    by ItsAboutLight

    US$3.99–US$106.40

Glacial meltwater full of glacial “flour” looks cloudy as it runs downstream from the glaciers of Mt Rainier.

  • Moraine Valley, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado…. I also will be uploading a color version of this at some point. I really wanted a B&W though for the dramatic light play, it was utterly dramatic in the first light of the morning….scenes like this are just what I live for, and the shadow in the bottom I intentionally made sure to shoot ‘in’ the shot, as I wanted the hint of the split rail fence. Well let me know what ya think! I am groovin’ on HDR B&W I think though / —John

  • MORAINE LAKE
    by Sandy Stewart

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Moraine Lake ( Banff, Alberta, B.C.), is known as Valley of the Ten Peaks. This is where the Wenkchemna Peak Mountains are hard not to notice, rising from the valley background. Not all the peaks are shown in the photo, but the ones that are shown from right to left are, Mount Fay at 3,235 metres ( 10,613 ft) high, Mount Little, 3,088 metres ( 10,131 ft) high, Mount Bowlen, 3,072 metres ( 10,079 ft) high, and Mount Tonsa at 3,057 metres ( 10,030 ft) high. / The tallest of the peaks that is not shown, is Deltaform Mountain at 3,424 metres ( 11,234 ft) high. The Valley of the Ten Peaks was featured on the reverse side of the 1970 and 1978 issues of the Canadian twenty dollar bill. Note; When we arrived later in the afternoon to Moraine Lake ( shot taken at 4:15 pm, Aug 2nd/08), the lighting was not conducive to taking shots of the mountain range and sky area (shown in the photo). I decided to take one shot set up for exposing the clouds and sky portion and another exposed for the treed and lake area. Unfortunately, I somehow managed to delete the one I took that was exposed for the trees and lake area, so I was left with the just the one photo. Needless to say, the treed and lake area was under exposed and worse off was the treed area. Shot in Raw file, I attempted to edit in Lightroom2. I decided to make two separate copies. I edited one for the treed and lake area and another separate copy of the same pic, for the mountain and sky portion. Than editing in photoshop CS2, I layered the two pics one on top of the other and preceded to paint back the mountain and sky portion of the better exposed copy for that area. After finishing there, I did a little more tweaking and I was surprised to finish up with not such a bad photo after all! This was my second ever visit to Moraine Lake and the first time, I was only ten years old and so the second visit brought back fond memories of visiting when just a child. It is nice to have this pic to remember my visit by!

  • Ten Peaks, Four Canoes
    by EchoNorth

    US$3.42–US$91.20

One of those quintessential canadian moments, canoes on the shore of Moraine lake with the famous Ten Peaks looming over the scene, on one moody and wet day in Banff National Park!!

  • “What we get from this adventure is just sheer joy. And joy is, after all, the end of life. We do not live to eat and make money. We eat and make money to be able to enjoy life. That is what life means and what life is for.” / / George Mallory / / Panorama of the Mount Everest massif from Kala Patthar, Nepal Himalaya / / The impressive mountain peaks of Nuptse (right) and Everest (right of centre). The Khumbu icefall spills from a 300m wide break between the mountain spurs. Everest Base Camp lies at its foot.

  • Alberta Canada and the Rocky’s are sensational. No need to comment. I think the images speak for themselves. Its pretty hard to take a bad photograph!

  • Probably one of the most photographed scenes in Canada, it was once featured on the back of the Canadian $20 bill. I happened to capture it early one morning just as the bus loads of tourists were arriving. Location: Banff National Park, Alberta Canada near Lake Louise. Photo taken with Panasonic Lumix FZ20 digital camera, at full resolution. Copyright 2007, David R. Belcher. / All rights reserved.

  • Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6183 feet (1884 m). The lake has a surface area of 0.5 km². The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. source: wikipedia

  • Two Glaciers
    by pbischop

    US$3.56–US$95.00

This picture was taken outside of Anchorage on our way to Seward. The picture is of two disctinct glaciers – two distinctive ice flows come together – the dark line/strip is where they come togethe and is called moraine.

  • Flying into the mountains in a ski-plane to land at the top of the Ruth Glacier in Denali National Park. The dark line that follows the curve of this river of ice is a medial moraine composed of rocks and sediment that have been compacted together as the ice continued to move down the mountain. The Great Gorge is reputed to be the tallest, steepest-sided gorge in the world – including the depth of the ice, which is about 3700 feet, and the visible mountainsides at about 5000 feet, it is about 8700 feet deep! • Along the Cub Lake Trail in Moraine Park, (RMNP) Colorado, this gorgeous bird was adamantly guarding her turf, most likely she had a nest near by. She is about the size of a small turkey…....very quick, very silent in her approach, and just beautifully marked.

  • such a peaceful little gathering along the trail head. mule deer / moraine park, in RMNP, CO
