Taken at Moonta, South Australia in the summer time. Rolling in off the sea, the lightning storm was barely audible over the crashing waves. This picture was published in April 2006 in SA Life magazine.
Taken when my hand had a spasm while trying to take a picture of a light at the end of moonta bay jetty. The effects of warm wind on a summers night and you just capture a picture of lightning better than any you’ve ever captured before.

Moonta Bay, Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. 1/1600s f/8.0 at 10.0mm iso400 Canon 20D Description for Photography 101 Group. A storm was brewing north of the Bay and rain just beginning in the distance. I liked the way the sand pool was leading toward the storm and the strong winds were causing the water to ripple. My goal was to compose the image so that the pool led to the storm and a fast shutter speed was used to ensure that I caught the fast moving ripples. In processing I have excentuated the contrast between the highlights and shadows without blowing out the highlights in order to reflect the drama and atmosphere of the storm. Due to the lack of colour in the scene and the contrasts in shadow/highlights I decided to convert to black and white. / /

Unbelievable perfume. One of 29 varieties planted by my sister and brother-in-law in Moonta. South Australia noted for its magic roses. It was the rose that was the gift – not the dish! Pentax Optio 750Z with Flash 14mm F/3.5 ISO /

Moonta Bay, on SA’s Yorke Peninsula, offers a lovely sheltered beach for the kids to muck around on. When the tide’s out there are rock pools galore to explore. Then at sunset, there’s this …
