  • Taken on a section of the Great Wall of China between Jinshanling and Simatai. In the distance you can see the wall rising steeply up over the mountains at Simatai. This got accepted into the ADPA competition in 2007.

  • Moffat Headland Moonrise (Caloundra). This was the night of the recent eclipse. I was hoping to get some colours of the sunset coinciding with the moonrise but the clouds wouldn’t co-operate. I was happy though with the soft glow effect.

  • WOW, talk about being in the moment, when I saw this scene I almost forgot to take any photo’s it was so tranquil. / The sea was like glass, with the Island before me and the moon above the spacedock at Almas Peak, all against a backdrop of the White Nebula. / What an incredible end to a perfect holiday. WOW

  • Shot over the Barossa Valley. All existence of mans hand was hidden bar the stacks from one of the wineries.

  • Last light of the day in Inverloch, Victoria. / 16mm wide-angle with graduated neutral density filter.

  • MOONRISE OVER PEMBROKESHIRE BEACH

  • Moonrise over a frosty Duart castle on the Isle of Mull, Western Scotland.

  • A wild and woolly afternoon on Bombo Beach… As I sat watching the waves break over rocks, the most perfect scene unraveled before my eyes. It was truly a spectacular and beautiful moonrise. [Creative Effects: NONE]

  • Visited Austinmer Pool, near Wollongong Australia for the moonrise on Friday then the sunrise on Saturday morning. Some amazing people there who swim every morning – even though the water temperature was only 13 degrees. Series 2: / /

  • Yep this is a moonrise, not a sunrise. I’ve never seen such an orange moon rising as on this night. This is one photo from a sequence of 135 I shot of the moonrise, which I’ve turned into a timelapse – you can see one hour of moonrise in 30 seconds here And can I also get your help? I can’t make up my mind which crop I like best so can you tell me whether you like #1, #2, or #3 and I’ll post the most popular up. Taken at Wottamolla Cliffs, Royal National Park just south of Sydney Canon 1Ds MkIII / Tv: 20secs / Av: 3.5 / ISO: 400 / FL: 35mm (plus cropped)

  • Zion National Park-My first trip to Zion was a photo workshop with the San Diego Natural History Museum, led by photographer Robert Turner. The sunset light reflected from the cliff walls was amazing. Canon Elan 7 camera and Provia 100 film.

  • New spin on an old image or two (or three or four) ;-)

  • Moonrise on Melrose © Vicki Ferrari This photograph was taken on the Melrose Road, Albert (central New South Wales, Australia), in the 1980’s. This is a scan of the 8X12 print in one of my earlier portfolios – there has only been basic editing done in photoshop, to remove the inevitable dust and scratches that are prominent with negative use (which become really apparent once you have scanned the image!). Apart from that, what you see is what it is! This is one of my favourites. It was even used in a country music CD a few years ago! I was a bit impressed by that – chuffed almost! (yes, I was chuffed, not almost!) You can take pity on the person that was in the car with me, driving home at night and having to stop! I have to take a photo! (and how often do we do that?!) I hope you like this and thank you for looking and reading! / Vicki Purchase Card / Purchase Framed Print / / Purchase Laminated Print / /

  • The Original on 24×36 canvas has recently been accepted into a Juried Exhibition; South Texas Art League 75th Anniversary Exhibition, Art Center of Corpus Christi, Texas / This piece is now on Exhibit at Artfluential Gallery, Rockport, Texas / Featured in Digital Abstracts & Patterns / I don’t know where Orchid Bay is, except in my own mind. I just chose a name that I thought fitted this creation. The moon rising, the sailboats docked and the water rippling…...what a nice place to dock for the evening!

  • This shot was actually a “sunrise” on the Pamlico River (Beaufort County, NC) that I changed the hue around to resemble a night time photo. The black marks to the left of the sun are seagulls which show up well in an 8”x12” print. Canon 20D / Sigma 24-70 F2.8

  • Shot in the North Bay at Kaikoura, 17, 07.09 (my daughters 12th birthday) this is one of the last images that I shot last week in Kaikoura, just had to do it first, this sunrise was sensational. Low tide reflections, seal colony to the right, seaward Kaikoura ranges to the left. I shot over 1200 frames last week, this one has been eating away at me to knock it off, this is a Photoshop image stich using 6 images, this sunrise alone i would have shot over a 100 frames/brackets. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Lens, Cokin ND8 soft grad, Raw files with Active D-Lighting on High. / Not quite dawn

  • Finally I got some luck with the Full Moonset and no clouds.. Not a cloud in sight this morning, and the moon was beautiful setting over Mount Cooroy. I have been doing tests lately with composition of moonrises and moonsets. If you take the shot with a massive zoom, from a few 1000 metres away, the moon is beautiful and large! I have learnt to throw away the 10mm lens for these kind of shots! Moonset of Thursday, 6th August, 2009 – 6:04am. Over the Noosa River, Noosa Sound, looking over Noosaville. Canon 5D Mk II, 800mm (400mm + 2x Tamron). Available very large, and best viewed Large!

  • Moonrise of 6th August, 2009 – 5:45pm. Sunshine Beach, Noosa Headlands rocks. Unfortunately this evening there was some cloud on the horizon, so the moon was late getting up. I have everything set up to get this pelican as a silhouette over the rising moon too.. Bugger! As it turns out, the clouds actually gave this shoot a dramatic dynamic anyhow, and the well behaved pelican stood nice and still for the shooting, dispite the wave spray.. I think he was captivated with this beautiful moon! I just couldn’t get the camera low enough to use the 800mm with this and get land in the shot, as for the cloud.. Canon 5D Mk II, 250mm. Available large, and best viewed Large!!

  • A huge Bull Elephant assumes an aggressive posture as he crests a low ridge in the moonlight – Damaraland, Namibia.

  • the moon sets as the sun rises this morning 11/6/09 in Asheville, NC. USA Olympus E-3. Zuiko 300mm. 1/350 f8 ISO 100.

  • morning moon. 11/7/09 8:15 EST. / Olympus E-3. Zuiko 600mm w/2xTC=1200mm.
