We all know that the sun and the moon will never met being on opposite position but what if….. / A double layers. / Friends at last ,they meet on the cosy clouds and stay friends forever. / This idea came to me from a song that my mother used to sing when I was young about a rendez-vous between the moon and the sun that never happenned because the two of them were always waiting for one another.Charles Trenet,my mom’s idole was singing that song… / «Le soleil a rendez-vous avec la lune mais la lune n’est pas là et le soleil l’attend »A wonderful card to say that nothing is impossible when you’re in love. / / / / /

Featured in The Divine Feminine, Sisters in Arms and Painted Ladies groups Acrylic on 9×12 canvas board – a little inspiration from my favorite artist, Erte! She is a sky goddess, guardian of the stars and night sky, she’s the one that makes the sun set and the moon rise. She also stands as Justice one of the Major Arcana cards in a tarot deck. The two most important laws governed by Justice are really two sides of the same coin. First comes the law of cause and effect, stating that all events are connected and each present state is the result of all past states. This is a such strange idea to get your mind around because sometimes seemlingly meaningless actions will have great ramifications. Justice shows that every action you do will eventually have an effect, someday, and you really have no idea of knowing what that event is until it happens. Often the figure on the Justice card is pictured sitting in front of a curtain; this curtain hides the machinations of the universe that bring about these final results. From the law of cause and order develops the law of Karma, showing that all your actions will return to you eventually. They will be modified slightly, and they are often strengthened over time, but the lesson is still the same. As you sow, so shall you reap. This is really a simple elaboration of the law of cause and effect. Under this new law, not only will everything you do have an effect, everything you do will have an effect on you. This is where it becomes critical to be mindful of your actions, because everything you take will come back to you eventually. Before Justice, you have to answer for all your actions, right and wrong. Life, if nothing else, is fair. She raises her curtain to start a sunset or to bring on the night, all the while, behind it, the universe stirs. She is cause and effect embodied, Every sunset she makes sets into motion the timing for the next day. She governs the laws of the universe.

“New Growth New Hope” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A surreal depicition of two larger trees bending over a smaller one and protecting it whilst silhouetted against the rising of a full moon. “Young one you know how I’m older than thee?” / said the largest of the trees, / “Another is growing smaller than you / and we must tell it the best thing to do” / “I know, I know”, said the younger tree, / “To grow as tall as the moon. The Freycinet National Park is on the Freycinet Peninsula, East Coast of Tasmania. This was taken on a summer evening. This is an absolute favourite of mine because it brings together so many significant elements that will never be quite the same again. / It has been featured in Mornings and Evenings, Sunbeams and Storms. Nikon D80 / Sigma 10-20mm lens
I went to the USAFA to look for deer and elk. The animals got away but I did get some great views of the setting sun. Look closely and you will see that the moon and 2 stars have appeared. They are actually the moon, Jupiter and Venus. /
On December the 1st 2008, Venus, Jupiter and the Crescent Moon came together and formed a unique shape in the sky – a smiley face! This image was captured at Green Point, overlooking Brisbane Water, on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia. Taken with a Canon 350D and Sigma 17-70mm lens. This image was chosen as 1 of the top 10 great astrophotos of 2008 by Sky&Telescope magazine. This image was featured on Astronomy Picture of the Day, 5th December 2008.

A re edit of a pic I already have on here which was a HDR image, trying to steer away from it unless I find it appropriate. I like this one better in a lot of ways sometimes it’s better not to see all the hidden details. Processed in Adobe Lightroom 2. Gear out in the field – Canon 400D, Velbon tripod, 10-22mm lens, shutter release, nd grad filter. Enjoy :) This image was the winner of the “Part of the Sun” (Sunset or Sunrise) Challenge in the “Mornings & Evenings—Sunbeams & Storms” Group on the 7th of April 2009. This is definately one of the most beautiful places of the world, at the most beautiful time of the day :) Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland. 1000’s of Rainbow Lorikeets fly above, in their afternoon social time, hanging out in the tall Gum Trees. If you stand within 50 metres of the tree, you can’t hear yourself think for the noise, it’s so wonderful an experience! This colour happens most nights, but this cloud formation does not happen often at all, in my opinion, the perfect sky :) I hope you enjoy this shot, as much as I enjoyed shooting this one. Available Large, and best viewed large. Actual print size is 1600mm x 1000mm. Canon 50D, 10mm, no filters needed, as this was the true colour of the evening.
One of the many beautiful places to sit along the Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland, Australia. The dust storm covering most of South-East Queensland today made for an interesting sunset. Captured a small flock of Rainbow Lorikeets also in this shot. There is 1000’s of these on the river every afternoon, sometimes you can’t hear yourself think.. Hehe :) Most of you keen sunset photographers will know by now, there is a colour band that follows the sun, on the opposite side of the horizon. When that passes through the upper clouds, it makes them go insane oranges and reds, or maybe other colours depending on the air it’s passing through.. From when the sun disappears over the horizon, this band goes from east to west, taking about 30 minutes to do so. I took this shot as it was about half way, and the dust make it glow a lovely lavendar colour. I quite liked the back lit eucalypt trees along the river at this time :) The colours in this shot, have not been altered. Canon 50D, 10mm. Available Large, and best viewed Large!

Rota Island – August 2009 / straight out of the camera / Life on this island is friendly and unhurried and the hospitality is as unforgettable as the magical sunsets. Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret / Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain. Rota has diverse flora and fauna.. / Wikipedia ©2009/2010 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.
