It was an early morning start. I was meeting a friend for a sunrise shoot. The location was all planned out, so was the time – unfortunately we still missed each other. It was my fault. I went to the South end of the beach, he was at the Northern end. / / Sometimes a mistake can actually turn into luck, and this was the case here. A wonderfully still morning, beautiful light and the moon to boot….. / / I did eventually meet up with my friend after he finally answered his mobile, but wow was I glad I overshot the Northern Entrance…. Sydney is not only blessed by a beautiful coastline providing us with countless beaches, but also some of these beaches have a “rock pool” at the headland. These rock pools provide a great place for the locals to take a dip in the ocean without the waves. This was taken in Banff National Park 5 years ago on an October morning.

This shot was taken from the Destin Harbor – Destin, FL. The sunset cruises were coming in for the evening. This is one of the sunset cruises that I caught coming back into the harbor. During post processing in Photoshop I added a larger than life moon via the Lunar Cell filter. It seemed like it added a mysterious beckoning element to the photo. Another Northern Manitoba wolf, I just can’t get tired of them, and it seem that this little pup (about 90 pounds) just can’t get enough of the camera… Could find any title for this one…If anyone has an idea, just let me know…

This shot was actually a “sunrise” on the Pamlico River (Beaufort County, NC) that I changed the hue around to resemble a night time photo. The black marks to the left of the sun are seagulls which show up well in an 8”x12” print. Canon 20D / Sigma 24-70 F2.8

Early morning (yes you read the right – I actually got out of bed) and I wonder why I haven’t done so more often. By chance took a trip down Back Beach, with the dog to await the rising sun. Only to find a full moon setting across the sea as the sun was just coming up back over my right shoulder. It was quite dark and the first rays of light were peering from right of picture. The moon lit the sea with a spectacular moonbeam.
