A funny image of the old moon himself taking havick on earth after the space shuttle crashes into him.
We had an eclipse of the moon the other night. / So I thought I would try to fly to it. But the clouds got in my way, and I lost direction. / Well this is the result after a play with PhotoImpact.
This was taken off the last full moon, right after the eclipse. / Sold: 1 medium framed print unknown buyer RB
Which of these moons has a stable orbit? How large can a robot get? You know chopshopstore.com has a poster version of this same image.

Once they all believed in dragons / When the world was fresh and young, / We were woven into legends, / Tales were told and songs were sung, / We were treated with obeisance, / We were honored, we were feared, / Then one day they stopped believing / On that day, we disappeared. / Now they say our time is over, / Now they say we’ve lived our last, / Now we’re treated with derision / Where once we ruled unsurpassed. / We must make them all remember, / In some way we must reveal / That our spirit lives forever— / We are dragons! Here’s another reason space rocks…..............Slee Dragon Wings. What you may ask are Slee Dragon Wings, well’ SDW’s are the best delicacy in the know universe, and maybe in a few unknown ones as well. Every 70th turn of the moon “CandyRock”, the SD’s hatch in the gelitinous pink craters of said moon, they suck up the sweet pink nectar, and when their wings are thick and heavy, they lift off the surface. Once beyond the pull of the moon, they float in space until meeting the gravitational / pull of the planet Candy Wings, floating gently down through the atmosphere and pulled by the lure of the Big Rock Candy Mountains and the sweet treats that await. After landing their 4 wings break off, they then burrow into the sweetness to find a mate and breed. The wings are gathered by the older Slee Dragon females and sold off-world at a fine profit. / The delicacy can be savoured at many top-end eateries across the Universe. Recipe. 4 Wings (nobeing as ever eaten more than 4) / 3 succulent Grimbil Eggs / 5 measures of Kram Lizard Brains / 4 bottles of Guinness ( aged 100 years ) Marinate wings in eggs and brains for at least 5 months. / then cook slowly over a bed of hot Creelab Bark ashes ( about 4 hours) Serve with a sprig of shamrock. Wash it all down with the Guinness. A feast, just talking about it makes me salivate, mmmmmmmmmm good, a tad expensive, but well worth the creds. Dragons and plants created in Bryce.
With the global economy caught in the gravity of the financial crisis, it’s sad that programs like the Constellation Project will have a long wait before anything truly gets off the ground. / / NASA’s Constellation Project is set up to finish the International Space Station, retire the Shuttle Fleet and build a whole new fleet of space vehicles which will take us back to the Moon, then Mars and then the places beyond. / / But with Congressional limitations and funding cutbacks due to the financial crisis, as well as being stuck with a complicated and restrictive “go as you pay” finance structure it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing any groundbreaking manned space flights in the naughties. / / This image represents a fleeting memory of a childhood dream to see man explore our planets and then the stars beyond and it’s one of the few things as a child I looked up to America for. / / The universe is a big place and we’re yet to make it out of our solar system but without programs like the Constellation Project, man may never ever get to make another giant leap. / / DETAIL / / / /
Today I drove from my old home to my new home, so in the morning I drove from the past into the future. / And when driving alone I listen to music, on my journey into the future today I listened to the sound track from *The Last of the Mohicans a challenging sound, a sound of the future, but also the sounds of the death chant of the “People”. So with that I drove into the dawn, in my mind there formed the image of northern regions, forests, lakes and rivers, and thats where I’m heading, to my new home on the river. But of course that image is for the future, it won’t go away, it will wait for when its needed. So with the day at an end, I have to return to the past, because the transition is still taking place, both physically and mentally, the past pulling me back, and the future just beyond the horizon. And so on the drive home I listened to ” Spirit Chaser ” an album with the sounds of the Skin Drum, the Rain Stick and just a pinch of the Didge, and in the background of the sounds of the deserts and forests, and bush. All this from the Anglo Irish group “Dead Can Dance” Showing me that the past will always be there, back beyond the mountains of the mind, it catches and is caught on the sharp edges and the imagination will bring it out when needed, but not always as remembered, for the imagination is not infallible. And so this is my image for this day of change and transition, its an image of deserts and ageless continuation, and a place to confront the Spirit Seeker, and yes,as with all things, it waits for me on an alien world

So called after Greenmo the Bold met Impermos the Grey Rider in mortal combat. Here at this ford on the Nylass River, Greenmo & the Rider fought for 65 turns of the moon, under the shadow of Grimmss World. / Having used every weapon and teaching at their disposal, and having spent the nights sharing a campfire. / They both knew that tomorrow one would pass on to a greater battlefield, whereas the winner would claim the Golden Chalice and so be crowned king. / .................................................................................................................... / Maybe it should have been called, Greenmos Folly. The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite and the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System. The average centre-to-centre distance from the Earth to the Moon is 384,403 kilometres (238,857 mi), about thirty times the diameter of the Earth. The common centre of mass of the system (the barycentre) is located at about 1,700 kilometres (1,100 mi)—a quarter the Earth’s radius—beneath the surface of the Earth. The Moon makes a complete orbit around the Earth every 27.3 days[nb 3] (the orbital period), and the periodic variations in the geometry of the Earth–Moon–Sun system are responsible for the phases of the Moon, which repeat every 29.5 days[nb 4] (the synodic period). / The Moon’s diameter is 3,474 kilometres (2,159 mi),[4] a little more than a quarter of that of the Earth. Thus, the Moon’s surface area is less than a tenth of the Earth (about a quarter of Earth’s land area, approximately as large as Russia, Canada, and the United States combined), and its volume is about 2 percent that of Earth. The pull of gravity at its surface is about 17 percent of that at the Earth’s surface. / The Moon is the only celestial body on which human beings have made a manned landing. While the Soviet Union’s Luna programme was the first to reach the Moon with unmanned spacecraft, the NASA Apollo program achieved the only manned missions to date, beginning with the first manned lunar mission by Apollo 8 in 1968, and six manned lunar landings between 1969 and 1972 – the first being Apollo 11 in 1969. Human exploration of the Moon temporarily ceased with the conclusion of the Apollo program, although a few robotic landers and orbiters have been sent to the Moon since that time. The U.S. has committed to return to the Moon by 2018. Image taken In Virginia with a Canon Digital Rebel XSI….and a 120mm 4.7inch refractor….and a 2x barlow lens…As Is
