  • This is just a small piece of the beautiful Callan Park…

  • I designed this for a poster for my friends new band, Reckless Cause. I had a week to come up with a concept for a poster, and this is where i ended up. The idea behind it, basically, is: to be a part of a cause is to put your hand in it, or put your hand up for it, or at least thats how i figured it. The tree layered over the top of the hand can be seen as purely decorative, or if you want to look deeper into the concept, it could be seen as breaking or cracking up the hand, because of the recklessness of the cause! The band were very happy with the design, as was I. Hope you enjoy it :) Check out their myspace, www.myspace.com/recklesscause

  • The main background is the plaster texture inverted. The splatter texture is overlayed on the viewers right. The 02 FAC texture was uploaded into the texturizer and applied to the face with the effect erased from the eyes and cheeks so it is most evident on the lips, nose and forehead. The 01 FAC texture was darken-layered around the edges of the image after I colored it magenta using the hue/saturation slider. The remaining elements are parts of my photos, model is my wife Candace who is my greatest inspiration.

  • Part of a series I started a while ago before I discovered photo shop. I created the originals (Monday ~ Sunday) using collage technique, cutting, pasting, painting but they never really came out the way I wanted them to. So Iv’e decided to try again using my computer this time. I started with Wednesday’s child because it was the easiest! / Girl’s image ‘playingwithbrushes’ free stock on Flickr / Tree brushes photo shop free brush download / Other bits and pieces by me

  • Before the dawn, Noora Evaporation basin near Renmark South Australia. Just before the sun with a brooding blue stormy cloud line silhouetting the majestic old dead river redgum trees that line the basin. As most of you know this is one of my favorite spots to sit and watch the sun come up! Canon 400D – 18-55 lens with CIR Polariser topped with ND4.

  • This one was made for my daughter Catherine! Named by my friend Shawn after a CCR song

  • I took a bucketload of shots like this in the space of about 15 minutes on my way to work one winter morning. I’d never seen fog in 25 years of living in Japan and there was no way I could miss work that morning. Fortunately I had to pass through a park and just kept taking shots until I could delay no longer. I arrived at school with about a minute to spare!

  • This oil painting was inspired by traveling in Portland, Oregon last Christmas during the worst white out in 40 years. The awesome quite and stillness of winter with it’s snow blanket drifitng in the breeze and the nightly shawdows on the water invites mystery and quiet contemplation.

  • The beauty of color in Autumn. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter, around late September in the United Kingdom. Night becomes visually noticeably ,the cold felt with a strong need not be alone. The leaves fall of the tree and leave them bare and alone. This is part of my autumn theme. / Location: Warwick Park area of Tunbridge Wells – Kent UK

  • Lyrup Flats, South Australia. Canon 50D / 10-20mm (at 10mm) HDR (3 bracketed exposures blended manually). / + slight texture added. Click image to see larger preview.

  • I was off to take some photographs of some waterfalls in the Breacon Beacons in Wales when I almost missed this scene. Had there not been a break in the cloud I may have missed it. It was probably the best drive by shooting photograph I have to date. I’ve had a little play in photoshop and thought I’d post the results. / The original was shot using a Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 27mm, f/8, 1/60 sec, ISO 400. No filters used and mounted on the car door. I then upped the exposure in photoshop with a layered PS approach and added some crows for effect. I hope you like it. © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

  • Taken in the North Yorkshire Dales, heading out of the village of Grinton and heading towards Redmire Moor. you climb up a nice gentle slope and then a few bends with wide open roads and hit an area that looks like it has been blasted by nature and man a few times and you came across some open views and then vistas like this one. Best viewed large. Featured by the kind hosts of The Northern Landscapes Group Converted into pinhole black and white
