  • This old rustic fence running off down the hill with it’s slotted holes in the misty morning of a cold grey Macedon day looked good with the lone tree as a backdrop.

  • Satellite, oh, satellite / Who sits upon our skies / How deep do you see when you spy into our lives? I know that god lives in everybody’s souls / And the only devil in your world / Lives in the human heart So now ask yourself / What is human? and what is truth? / Ask yourself / Whose voice is it? that whispers unto you? / From the cellars of your homes / From the tops of your city roofs / Ask yourself / Whose voice is it? that whispers unto you? Who is it? / That turns your blood into spirit and your spirit into blood Who is it? / That can reach down from above and set yours souls ablaze with love / Or fill you with the insanity of violence and it’s brother: lust Who is it? / Whose words have been twisted beyond recognition / In order to build your planet earth’s religions Who is it? / Who could make your little armies of the left / And your little armies of the right / Light up your skies tonight Now some of you may live and some of you may die / But remember / That nothing in the world can kill you inside / For he is thinking of you / In your great cities of great solitude Oh children you’ve still got a lot to fuckin’ learn / The only path to heaven is via hell Good morning beautiful, good morning beautiful / Good morning beautiful, good bye world The The

  • another dark and mysterious landscape shot with Infrared film early one morning while I was staying at a friends place in the Hunter Valley. I’d gotten up very early to shoot for the rising sun and on my way to a place I call the ‘big valley’ .... on account of the very big valley there…... I past this hill just as the morning light hit the peak of it which makes it look like its been topped with icecream somehow. The radience of the light on this hilly peak gives the shot a different sort of drama that really appeals to me in this warm and temperate land that really never gets snow except in a few tiny places. So this then is a pretend snow topped mountain in place that is almost perfectly perfect…....

  • Another my current series of Infrared landscapes all shot somewhere deep within the Hunter Valley at a friends place a couple of years ago. This particular one is a companion shot to big hill little cow and shows more of the hill and none of the cow. I am quietly enjoying the softness of the early morning light playing with the contours of the trees on the hill side….. enjoy

  • Had a real ‘moodie” feel to it the morning this was taken….... .....

  • Infrared image of the ocean shores of the Oregon Coast.

  • Literally taken in my backyard as I was heading off to catch the bus to get to work. I have never gotten ready this fast in the morning, out the door with camera in tow when I saw that it was a beautiful foggy morning. Life’s natural soft focus …The colour is achieved with an adjustment layer.

  • Been having lots of ‘foggy’ mornings this summer!! Taken from home looking into the mist and trees…nsw aussie

  • I took a bucketload of shots like this in the space of about 15 minutes on my way to work one winter morning. I’d never seen fog in 25 years of living in Japan and there was no way I could miss work that morning. Fortunately I had to pass through a park and just kept taking shots until I could delay no longer. I arrived at school with about a minute to spare!

  • A flight to Denver Colorado, a 5 hour drive to Togwotee Mountain Pass, USA at an altitude of 9767ft made for some spectacular scenary, but also made for the worst altitude sickness EVER. One by one our party fell ill, only I remained standing. I went out on Christmas Day, took various shots including this one from the car, I also took a video diary of the trip for everyone in bed. I should really dig it out as I remember they wern’t happy with my jolly commentary. Only after I got stuck in the snow did I begin to feel exceptionally ill. The trip was immediately cut short. I missed out on the Devils Tower Wyoming and Mount Rushmore. Dammit. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Canon 10D, 70-200mm at 135mm, f/9.5, 1/90 sec, ISO 200. No filters used and mounted on the car door. A small amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. • I was off to take some photographs of some waterfalls in the Breacon Beacons in Wales when I almost missed this scene. Had there not been a break in the cloud I may have missed it. It was probably the best drive by shooting photograph I have to date. I’ve had a little play in photoshop and thought I’d post the results. / The original was shot using a Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 27mm, f/8, 1/60 sec, ISO 400. No filters used and mounted on the car door. I then upped the exposure in photoshop with a layered PS approach and added some crows for effect. I hope you like it. © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

  • I lost about 8 years of work due to a accidental click of a delete key in 2004, I stupidly had not backed up the work. Two days ago while clearing out the loft I found the photo of the girl with some others I thought had been lost forever, phew. The shot of the girl was taken in Sailsbury, Wiltshire, UK 2002 at a Civil War Reenactment and the the background is a lovely walk through Ashridge, Bedfordshire UK, which I took yesterday, I have added a few textures to the overall blend. The composite work has been done in photoshop CS4. I hope you like it. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Girl / Canon D60, 70-200mm at 200mm, f/5.6, 1/250 sec, ISO 400. / No filters used and hand held. Background / Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/16, .8 sec, ISO 100. / 3 stop Layer Comp. No filters used and tripod. © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

  • “Foggy morning- Child running down country road” I was lucky enough to capture this on my regular morning walk with my daughter. As a man and his 2 dogs approached us my daughter said” I hear puppies and started running up the road. This image was judged best of show at the “Professional Photographers of Oregon’s” Print competition. It stirred quite a discussion by the judges.
