Before I found RB my own sales were very limited I would never have believed that an Australian site would have done so well for me a UK artist. / I can create a slideshow or movie of your work complete with links and I will provide photos of my performances in the UK advertising your work… / This is a unique form of advertising… a total show stopper! ANY ONE INTERESTED / Prices have not been decided… I thought I’d throw it open to you to begin with The National Museum of Photography and Television in the UK today (Mon 29th Jan) expressed an interest in “Monitor Man” / I hope to push this creations with local and national museums and with TV stations later… A Red Nose For RedBubble

Well thought I’d give you guys out there an update on Monitor Man’s progress or lack of it. / For those of you who do not yet know my creation please see / Monitor Man / The National Museum of Media ping ponged me to 3 different departments (Isn’t it great when they cannot pigeon hole you, no label exists since one has not yet been invented) Final I speak to a young girl who says “Wow your idea sounds fantastic, email me the details and pics” / Emailed pics/videos and descriptions she informs me my details have been sent to the family workshop unit (not that I still believe that is the right department) / No one wanted to see my creation in the flesh so to speak. / The nearest big gallery said a virtual repeat of the above and guess what sent my details to the family unit… and did they want to see…errr no.. OK / Next stop… / Comic Relief… this is a UK charity which aids charities in the UK and globally… / It is a major UK event and raised more than 40 million UK pounds in 2007. / In 2005 I raised £115.00 in one hour and 15 minutes in my own small village. / In 2007 I thought head for the city I’ll raise even more cash here. 3 1/2 hours in the pouring rain dressed as a clown and I raised £33.00 and the locally bank said “Oh no not another Comic Releif supporter… if you’re bringing in cash you’ll have to count it yourself…” My reply “there’s a £150.00 here or prehaps not since I am dyslexic” .... Nice to feel so wanted. / Well despite all this I continue… / I will ring Comic Relief headquarters in London… / “Wow your idea sounds fantastic (dajavue) you must be a genius…” / “Thanks, ok have legs have monitor head can travel….Could you send me some videos and I can play them where ever you like….” / Oh sorry no… we don’t have any videos ourselves… all the videos belong to the BBC…” / “Now the best thing to do is use our free webspace tell the world what you are doing…. raise lots of cash…. and jump up and down from the tallest building and scream your lungs out and then maybe some one might see your webspace and …” She did not actually say those words word for word but that was the gist of it. So the BBC own all the rights might has well be the Russian Mafia.. / OK, I think the BBC are not the only video creators. So I find videos from the World Food Programme. They are very factual and great visual footage but watching them is like eating cream crackers with no butter or water. Still with a bit of editing still using all their original footage and rearranging the sound track and giving it a soft music background it rocks. / Feeling good about this I went on to create a video of the homeless in the UK using photos creative blends and a musical soundtrack. couple the two videos with some funny commercial outakes and wacky vids and I have my own portable Comic Relief. / I get in touch with the local mall an ideal space since I have performed there before. Met with a secretary from hell who basically hates my idea and thinks that I am some kinda nutter… / BANG! / Again another person who has made judgments about an object that they have not even seen! / I am trying tomorrow to see if I can obtain a street performers license to perform in the street…(Yes you have to be vetted.. in this world of “free speech” you must first interview the protest song player and then decided not give him a license). Will the “judge” have been to University and studied “Devised Performance” or spent 5 years studying “Visual Communication”? / Some how or other I doubt it they will be using there personal judgment on what they see is suitable for the public… / I am also going to try my local building society, they are a very friendly bunch, maybe they might let me perform? / Another wild idea is that the godfather of Britart, Charles Saatchi, is to play a silent Svengali in an X Factor-style search for British artists. (Maybe I enter this competion?) Saatchi, who famously spotted and promoted young British artists such as Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin in the 1990s, is to preside over the talent contest, which will be screened on BBC2 later this year. The winner will have his or her work shown at the Hermitage museum in St Petersburg in October. / The only problem being that I must live in London for 3 months at an “art School Boot camp (I was originally at art school in 1976 Ha!) Well that all my rantings I will keep you informed of my next stages… / Thanks for listening

Hi / Many thanks to all of everybody who has been following my progress so far as “Monitor Man” / I am presently looking for sponsors to raise money for “Red Nose Day” Friday March 13th 2009 / “Red Nose Day” is a day of fun and raising awareness to major issues both Globally and in the UK. “Red Nose Day” forms part of Comic Relief who have so far raised over £250 million for good causes. / A child dies every 3 seconds from malnutrition. / On “Red Nose day” I will be performing as “Monitor Man” in Huddersfield City Centre in the UK. “Monitor Man” will show crazy movie clips and films from the World Food Programme, Oxfam and videos I have produced on the homeless. Please view my home page at Rednoseday.com / http://www.myrednoseday.com/MonitorMan?SID=58092 Please copy and paste this link in manually since it refuses to work properly when it is actively linked I will give everybody an update after the event.
