Yet another update to the site this morning, with lots of great stuff… here’s the highlights: the activity monitor (in MyBubble) has had a major overhaul — the most recent events still appear on your overview page, but we’ve added a new “activity” tab, which let’s you go back through your entire history of events and filter the events so that you can see “just comments” or “just sales”, etc you can now choose to have a copyright watermark embedded on the larger previews of your images — to turn this on go to MyBubble > Account > Edit Profile all our FAQs are in the forums now we’ve changed our T-Shirt previews so that the artwork is a little higher on the tee, to better reflect what the finished product will look like we’ve tweaked some of our image processing so that the “zoom” view of most images will look a whole lot better I’m sure there’s more, but that’s probably enough for now. Enjoy!

  • This is a juvenile Lace Monitor Varanus Varius / I rescued him from the home of a dog breeder. Not sure if he was after the puppies, but at least he is safe now, back in the bush. I donate 100% of the proceeds from the sales of this image to The Kangaroo Protection Coalition

  • This is the final photo Dean chose (below) as his promo shot. I love the shot, my only issue with it was that it’s slightly blurred. I was able to sharpen it marginally, but it cannot be enlarged without losing overall quality. I also didn’t appreciate the light flare running across Deans shoulders and chest. This isn’t a problem for Dean, the light added a grungier feel to the shot and he is using the pic small so it will appear roughly same size as below on his site. Meanwhile, I have been busy trying to work out how to use this photo to create something different. I was in no way satisfied with a slightly blurred image, and it was not coming to the redbubble party looking as is! I don’t think there is a need to choose between the two, I just wanted to show you the original and the edited versions, to give the project more depth. So I added noise, a linear transmission filter and utilised a materialiser from KPT. This is the end product. Consider it the sequel to Hostage Plea, another chapter of underground illegal electronic communication. The possibilities for a story here are many: held for ransom, bargain plea, secret communication. You guys can decide. Featured in The Male Photographer Best viewed large.
