Condo tower in Yaletown, Vancouver BC / The colored windows are clearly inspired by Piet Mondrian. Very striking building.
Captured this strange reflection today (“Friday the 13th” June 2008) and could not help but think of the name “Mondrian” and his style. The shot captures some of the windows on the westen end of the recently law courts building on Victoria Square in Adelaide, South Australia. Came home and the first bubblemail I read talked about the latest “lines group“competition and thought this would be a great attempt to make the grade! Enjoy!!!
had some fun taking photos today. I told my niece (3 and a half) I’d been to the Botanic Gardens, but she corrected me: ‘No, it’s not the Botanic Gardens. It’s the Botanical Gardens’. She is a bossy little lady. “No, I’m not a lady, I’m a girl”. Obviously.
The original image of a decaying wall in a rundown Sheffield industrial estate which I used to create this montage represents the end of an era as Sheffield’s steel making heyday is well and truly over.. But.. That image of doom and gloom is not a true reflection of Sheffield and its people. With this version my intention was to capture the new energy and skills brought to the city by the 1000’s of university graduates who decide to stay on and call Sheffield their home.. Probably.. Due to the enduring locals who know that a smile and a wave is what really makes the world go round..
Mod paper doll with hand-painted YSL Mondrian dress swinging her way through London.
Inspiration for this carton model were the tree studies and the geometric work by Piet Mondrian.

The inspiration for this headturning shirt comes from the Dutch artist Mondrian and his grid based abstracts. Our t-shirt features a mysterious female in a chic hat with her face in blocks of green, lilac and blue.
©Seth F.Weaver,Sr. 05/29/09. She was a great lady of the stage and cinema, mistress of a thousand roles, each one unforgettable. She was a chameleon in every role. Upon her death her adoring fans seeked endlessly for something that showed her true appearance, just a face unpainted. Nothing but a lacy decaying mask was found among her treasures and it was concluded by all that she was the role she was playing and nothing more. This work is a blend of Mondrian and James Ensor. A Compullage™ work. Second in my GRIDLOCK series.

With apologies to Piet Mondrian . . . Shot in Venice, California. An apartment building, I shot this as an afterthought, literally from the open window of my car (with the motor running) as I was leaving from my shoot that day. Much thanks to Ron Quick and Wayne Pearson for graciously consulting with me on this image! Nikon D300 / Tamron 28-300mm / 1/640 sec / f/16 / 185mm focal length / ISO 200
Little boxes on a tshirt, inspired a little bit by Mondrian and our homage to the great artist.
