Dear artlovers: / No, you are not imagining things. The original title for this piece was “Go with the flow, Joe.” / I put it up straight out of the oven, as it were, and on reflection I don’t think I properly understood what I had. Initially I saw a series of curving lines traveling more or less across a flat plane whereas now what I see is a horozontal plane meeting a vertical. / It could be the world’s most elaborate skirting board. But Christ, there’s no way I’m using that for a title. But I like the way it comes at you from the top right and then slides past to your left. / Feel free to be utterly confused by my jabbering here. Hey, you either like it or you don’t!

For some, golf is just a game, but for many it is far more than a sport. It’s a game for all ages we can play for a lifetime. Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best: ‘Man does not quit playing because he gets old; he gets old because he quits playing.’ Invite them to your golf club / Example Laminated Print small /

When the world was thought to be flat, people were fearful that they would fall off the edge of the world. However, they too, although unkown at the time, were in a circular momentum!

Momentum is a piece that represents an amalgamation of techniques and tricks that I’ve learned in recent months. I wanted to convey a strong sense of motion and velocity by using the disintegrating type of effect. Also combined photo manipulation techniques with geometric shapes, type, and additional effects set at various blending modes. It took me about forty hours to do but I feel that they were forty hours well spent: I hope you enjoy this one!

Back in 1992, I wrote this quote in my journal, “Forgiveness is a courageous attempt to add steps to the ladder of the future. To forgive oneself is the doorway to heaven and the challenge of lives to come.” I cannot remember who the author was, but this quote is a part of my daily routine - / I forgive myself for what I’ve done yesterday, today and tomorrow! / In my counseling efforts the issue of forgiveness is always misconstrued, that in order to forgive you must embrace the person forgiven – this is NOT to say you need live with them, tolerate future abuse, or forget the lessons learned from this relationship. I guess that this particular belief is what sparked the inspiration for this writing at 2am this morning. / I am hopeful that someone struggling with Self-Esteem earns their presence and ability to hold themself in enough regard and strength NOT to compromise themself for Survival, Affection or Success! / Peace~ Imagine my surprise today 5/6/09, when my sweet sister DevineDay Dreams created created this beautiful artwork to accompany this poem…

Yesterday I witnessed a remarkable event…it probably happens everyday but I was fortunate to see physics and nature in action. I have a feeding tray setup, hanging by strings from a market umbrella for the parrots. I usually handfeed the bigger birds, magpies and kookaburras. / Lately a pair of Currawongs have been edging closer and closer to be fed. For non-Aussie’s, these beautiful big birds are sometimes called / crow-shrike. They have bright yellow eyes, black plumage with tufts of white around the tail feathers and they have a beautiful song. Yesterday, when the parrots had finished feeding they flew off the hanging feed tray and left it spinning violently. A Currawong flew down onto an old chair just below the tray to get closer to the food. He looked up at the spinning tray holding the promise of treats but the tray was orbiting so quickly he couldn’t fly onto it… I watched in amazement as the Currawong stretched up and gave the tray two quick sharp taps to break the orbit and give the tray a new angular momentum vector. / The tray stabilised…..the clever Currawong jumped on the tray and enjoyed the leftover treats. .....there are humans who have problems with Quantum physics and angular momentum! Amazing what we can learn from nature;)
Life has become what I see as a never ending circular flow. By following the traditions of Native American philosophy, I have come to recognize the values of circular momentum. After all, we live on a circular planet, gaze at a circular moon, a circular sun, circular planets in the distance, while our Earth revolves in circular motion. What goes around comes around. If I put love, hard work, concentrated focus, sheer determination, and positive action into my circle, then I continue to feed it. It is then, and only then, that I repeatedly reap the benefits of my circular momentum. These events form my essence, my true inner being and my self-existence. Disturbances, some major and some minor, try their best to enter into my circle, which can interrupt my flow. However, it’s entirely up to me to conquer those disturbances, in order to keep my circular momentum flowing. Sometimes when they continue to pop up on a continuous basis without my creation, I believe that it is my Creator’s way of telling me that something is not right. Therefore I find it necessary to do my best to make a shift. Upon doing these things, in my own unique and imperfect circle, I can find harmony, but not necessarily balance. Life is never truly balanced, as there will always be some things that mandate high priority and put lesser things of importance on the shelf temporarily. However, if I am open and willing to accept these imbalances, it is then that I will find harmony. This is exactly what I need to continue my daily walk as part of a continuous flow in my unique journey through life. / Polly Anne Peacock ‘09 This is a photograph that I took of a Honeysuckle branch in my backyard in Roseville, CA with a Canon 40D. Life is full of our own beautiful and unique dances and so it is documented here! Enjoy!!
