/ My ‘First Tree’ is officially published in the coffee table book Artists of the West / For information on purchasing a signed copy of the book, go to Carrie Glenn Studios Thanks! First Tree was Featured in Lifestyles Magazine as part of an article about the Artists of the West coffee table book I am also honored to announce my painting First Tree was a part of the Rialto Towers two week art exhibit in Melbourne, Australia in of July 2007 Acrylic and pastel on illustration paper. (1995) This is truly the first tree I ever painted, the need to paint and create was something brewing so strongly inside I had to do something about it. Yet my resources were very limited, I grabbed the only paint I had any access to, a can of my father’s black spray paint, I sprayed it into the lid of the can and used the only paintbrush I owned a cheep nylon brush from a water color kit and created. I then finished my work with the only two pastels I owned brown and black. / Necessity is the mother of invention, or maybe it’s that there is more than one way to skin a cat. (Sorry cat lovers) At any rate I grew up in a home with very few luxuries but I did have a passion to create, always, I had to feed the creativity. So this is a very special piece to me and I hope to you as well. Down through the dark trees, you came and saved me... Another experiment with metallic blue paper as a background and the flash on my camera… haha, I guess it worked well. I never use my flash, so that’s why this is so experimental, hehe. It’s also the stamen of a hibiscus.
After it rained one day, the sun started shining… and a cool breeze went through the pine trees in my backyard…
I used several fractal designs for this artwork. I created seperately a colorful background and used the tools of Photoshop to get the endresult. / Design: Thea Walstra / /

You give me rainbow butterflies / Your hand touches mine and I feel / The wisdom of oak trees line up / And we walk that lane which shines / Both of our spirits on parade Your wings are vibrating those / Colors that catch the light / My eyes are green to emeralds delight / As you listen for my lead / The one I took from our Spirits creed We make a pack of lovers bliss / That all things are possible with / One soulful kiss / That all who know us or come / Our way / Are blessed with knowing / All things are possible / Today. Linaji 2009 All things are possible if we start right now to believe that here in this moment is our POINT OF ATTRACTION / That no matter for how long or what has been going on that does not seem to work can change in an instant if we understand that everything that can ever possibly happen can only happen at this point in time. NOW That everything changes when we start to see that life is suppose to be FUN and we can allow the infinite possibilities to formulate the best path for our desires to manifest. I have never seen this more true than my own life. As everyday I soften my thinking to better feeling thoughts I experience new vista’s to guide me towards that which I am becoming and that which I desire. Today has been such an easy day full of butterfly vibrations and lovely sounds and visions and YOU! xox
This fractal design reminds me of a sunfrower. I created this artwork with Apophysis 2.08 3dhack and I used Photoshop and a part of a different fractal design to create the “sun” heart of the flower. Designer: Thea Walstra / /

Bast is the Egyptian goddess with the body of a maiden and the head of a cat. She is the Goddess of cats, the rising sun as well as the moon, truth, enlightenment, sexuality and birth, fertility and the harvest, the home, music, dance and the arts, among many other attributes. She is also sometimes considered to be the Egyptian version of the Greek Artemis and Roman Diana. Halloween was originally celebrated as the Feast of Bast and Sekhmet. Sekhmet is Bast’s twin sister, who has a lion head. While Bast is associated with life, Sekhmet is associated with death and is the destroyer goddess). In this stylized, abstracted portrait, I portrayed Bast with a golden corona or solar disc to represent the rising sun and life. The triangles are a symbol of fertility as well as the creative power. Mixed Media (liquid copper leaf, gold acrylic, oil pastels, colored pencils, and black art marker) on tan Canson pastel paper. Original work measures 19×12.5 inches.
