I have a series of calendars that I have produced for about 20 years. This is a possible image for the 08/09 edition. The style has always been to present beauty and sex appeal but with a real look. This shot was taken near my studio in Ivanhoe. The feel is meant to be of a nature photographer in the Amazon or some similar region. This was taken after we got her a little wet in a waterfall. The lighting was coming from behind her and was very diffused. I used a silver reflector very close to her face to bounce the light back and light her face. That was how the highlights on her shoulder were created.

Model – Meluxine The height of winter, she’s laying on wet frozen ground, in a vintage dress and my ugg boots, full to the brim with Hungry Jacks, watching me dance like a crazy person with a head cold around her when suddenly the sun breaks through right at the perfect moment, and she manages to pull of that look like it’s as easy as microwave popcorn. / This girl rocks. Or journey of the lost soul…I guess every day is a failure. I fail to live up to my own life. But I will die trying! I’m ready to make a leap of consciousness. The old struggles are no longer interesting. They do not engage my mind. My energy passes through them-they are mirages. I once sought big monuments of proof that I existed-no more. For me going deeper is better. Deeper insight is all that I seek…and a beautiful cup to drink from.

Taken in Tunga/Zuga Village, deep in Kebbe state, Nigeria. This girl is 12 years old. Alreay she is mother to her three younger brothers. Orphaned three years ago, she became head of her family.
