This is my favourite photo that I took of the surroundings of the castle. The castle itself is actually not on the photo, it is to the left.

Château de Chenonceau near the French village of Chenonceaux in the Loire Valley, is considered to be a true fairyland caste with its distinctive turrets, rooftops and the unique tower next t the castle. This specific view of the château is what makes it one of my favorite châteaus. Colors of monochrome: Some of my other work: / / / © Kuntal Daftary

Nightshot (10sec exposure) of the side wall of the Zwinger Palace in Dresden, Germany, formerly part of the Dresden fortress of which the outer wall is conserved. The name derives from the German word Zwinger (outer ward of a concentric castle); it was for the cannons that were placed between the outer wall and the major wall. This city was firebombed in 1945 and is being painstakingly rebuilt to its pre-war splendor.

Ok, so I went to shoot the Story Bridge, and Customs House. But what really fascinated me was the Brisbane River lapping up against these sandstone walls. No one takes notice of someone shooting the bridges, but sooo many people stopped to talk to me while I was shooting here – and almost everyone of them stuck around the minute or two while I had the shutter open so they could see the results. / / / © 2008 Sara Lamond. I was on a day trip to visit to this beautiful castle amongst other places, and when I saw the ducklings in the moat, I thought I just had to take the photo.

A photograph taken during an early morning walkaround in the Belgian city of Gent. I can never sleep in a strange bed, so i decided to wake up early and have a look around the city before all the tourists wokr up. Indeed, at about 7 in the morning on a sunday, i was almost the only person in the city.

A great view along the outer perimeter of the castle looking down the hill and far away – the various colours of all the tree are great too – a great plave to imagine what once was…

This is a picture of one side of the local castle (I love being able to say stuff like that) Leeds castle in Kent. Very nice place. Good restaurant as well in case you are ever in the area… and a Duckery (a place you keep ducks apparently) That is definately on the list of things I have to have when I win the lottery. “Yes darling, I will meet you in the Duckery”

the oude gracht (old canal) in the dutch city of utrecht. dug from the 11th century onward, it connected the drying arms of the river rhine (or what had been the main flow of the rhine untill the roman age) with the river vecht. in fact, many parts of it are actually parts of the pre-roman riverbed. the canal ensured that goods could be transported to and from the city, making it the biggest trade centre of the netherlands in the middle ages.
