“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world…” 1 John 4:1 There are religions and faith movements today that claim to have new and additional revelations that were received after the Book of Revelation. Some of these new revelations are claimed to have originated from angels or spirits from Heaven. In stark contrast, not one book of the Bible was authored by an angel, or from a human who was inspired by an angel. God Himself through the Holy Spirit inspired every human author of the Bible; or they received the information first-hand from Jesus directly. Be warned, you can’t trust someone else to do your thinking and seeking for you. You have a personal responsibility to earnestly seek the truth. God promises that those who earnestly seek Him, will find Him. In a sobering narrative in Luke 13, 22-28, Jesus was asked if only a few people were going to be saved from hell. He said to them, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ "But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ "Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ "But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ "There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.” Friend please read Jesus’ words above prayerfully. Make it the most important priority of your life to be 100% certain that you know and love the true Living God. “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:6-9 In these verses we see that the Gospels of the Bible are revelations by Jesus Himself. God warns us about accepting any other different gospel message be it from men or angels! The book of Revelation reveals events right up to the very last days; no additional revelations are needed to reveal the path of eternal salvation. Conversely, there are explicit warnings not to add or subtract anything to the last book of the Bible, Revelation. As a further warning several old and New Testament books in the Bible foretell of additional false revelations from Satan, demons and human false prophets in the last days. Please realize that the purpose of these extra-Biblical revelations are to mislead people away from the essential truths of the Bible’s Gospel message of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ -only as defined by God in His Word. We will all die and leave this earth one day. Think about that day. Do you know with confidence that you will be welcomed into God’s Kingdom based on a personal relationship that you’ve built over time with Him through reading His word? Or is your relationship based on someone else’s relationship with a god that they’ve told you about? This is a mixed media painting based on a photograph I took of someone leaving a cold war design exhibition in the Victoria and Albert museum, London. The figure and door to the left were cut out of plain, black photogloss paper and adhered to primed canvas.
