Photograph. An image I’ve been working with I’ve titled “Closed Open Nude” printed this time on two different Asian papers and collaged together with Asian motifs.The primary paper has mango leaf inclusions. The secondary paper is a fragile taupe Unryu. A small square of Japanese block printed calligraphy paper is at the bottom, below that a section from a Chinese money envelope.

This is kind of a reworking of my Butterfly Glade image, in a way. I was never quite happy with how that turned out but at the time, didn’t have the skills to do a better job. I always wanted to try something similar again… :) This image is a mixed media creation; the background image is a pastel drawing I did specifically for the purpose, which has then had several hundred layers of photos overlayed in Photoshop. All resources used are my own, with the exception of two brushes: the brush for the hair was courtesy of Trisste Brushes, the brush for the vines was courtesy of Obsidian Dawn.com. All photos by me on either my old Kodak Easyshare CX3700 or my Canon Powershot A480 compact cameras. Proudly New Zealand made. :) Featured in Yellow Gallery, Nov 14, 2009.

For my dear friend-Donna Adamsky. These bright flowers have a Summer Glee about them that are hard to ignore. I absolutely fell in love with them at the local nursery and had to bring them home to put in the side garden by the north end of the house. Hopefully they will Winter well there this year with some hay on top of them and pop up again next summer. I love the brilliant contrast between the flowers and their bright little “faces”.
