Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Chilli Beach, Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland. Chilli Beach is wide and long and fringed with palms – a truly magical spot overlooking Restoration Island, Capt Bligh’s first landing place in 1792. They might say the best time to visit the Cape is May through to October, but I can imagine that the roads would be in very poor condition by August. When we went in May they were just grading the roads preparing for the onset on tourists that visit the Cape. 4WD vehicles only!! A view of the North Carolina Blue Ridge mountains from Lake Tahoma near the town of Marion. THe snow covered peaks in the upper left hand corner are the Seven Sisters and Mt. Mitchell. / THe lake was built in the 1920s real estate “boom” as a luxury development. The old building on the lake was a casino where well known bands performed regularly for dances. The 1929 stock market crash ended the development. Now the lake is owned by current property owners. THe casino has been renovated and is used for private special events. Nikon D50 /

July 20th, 2009 produced one heck of a mighty sunrise! As I traversed over a golf course and came closer to the rising sun, I was in awe of the incredible sky paintings that illuminated the ground I stood on! One of my favorite old Joni Mitchell songs, is “Circle Game.” It seems fitting for this picture. It’s my hope that you enjoy both the sunset and Joni!! This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D wide angle 75mm lens in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
