This was taken in Morton National Park just north of Ulladulla on Pointer Gap Road. There is a great lookout at the end, just don’t go when the weather’s like this. /

This was taken after a Flickr meetup in the Dandenong Ranges earlier this year. Its a grove of trees up in Ferny Creek that I just love to shoot (I have an Autumn shot from here too).

Why I chose this title: Anyone who have seen the movie Bambi a few times during their childhood (or in adulthood) might remember the scene where Bambi was experiencing his first winter and explores the forest after a heavy snowfall. Every once in a while, large clumps of snow would fall from the branches and land right on top of Bambi. / Well, this is pretty much what was happening in that photoshoot. I took this on a sunny, cloudless day. There was no fog whatsoever. What you see here is the powdery snow being shaken off the treetops by the breeze, creating this misty effect ... and yes, at some point there was a particularly LARGE clump that landed on top of me. Thank god I was wearing a hat and scarf!

Shot this back in November, 2004, when the grass was much greener, and there was water in the dam. There’s only been water in that dam one other time since then, and it lasted around 6 weeks….this is a nice reminder of what we used to have…. Mist enshrouds the bridge in Fagan Park a couple of weeks ago – a 2008 version of Billy Goats Gruff which was taken twelve months ago.
