I imagine a spider’s view of the world…. / / Taken on family property in Pomona Park, FL
Spotted some horses in a field on the way to work yesterday, the sun was just coming through the mist, had to go turn round and go back to have a look and came away with a couple of nice shots. There was a thick frost on the ground, real crisp winter morning Thanks to Richard Shepherd for the title.
Sunlight touching the layers of mist and fog thats blanketing the land!!

This is a shot from a couple of years ago. I remember it well, it was one of those mornings when everything was just perfect and all I had to do was turn up and press the shutter, lol .:)
In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. I particularly like the fact that compared to a lot of fog shots it displays color, to I think, an advantage and shows the promise of a beautiful sunny summer day emerging… Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55mm lens Featured in the group Ontario November 2009 / Top Ten placement in the Summer challenge for the group Ontario November 2009 / Top Ten Placement in the Nikon D40 Users, Masterpiece challenge, September 2009 / Featured in the Nikon D40 Users group, July 2009 / Top Ten in the Journey or Destination challenge for the First Things group, July 2009 / Featured in the Outsiders, March 2009 / Featured in Canada: The Great White North group September 2008 / Featured in the Nirvana group September 2008 / Avatar for Shots In The Fog group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the 100% group. ! Featured on the RedBubble homepage on Monday, 9th February, 2009 ! / Featured in the group “Italy and all Italian things”. / Thank you so much!!! / Featured on October 10th 2009 – Thank you!!! / We took a trip to Tuscany in October 2006 and stayed for one night in a most beautiful place called San Giminiano. I got up really early in the morning to find the whole landscape beginning to glow in the morning light. Swathes of mist rested in the vales of this beautitul landscape. “Tuscan Dawn” was also taken (a little earlier) on this morning. It was one of those times when dragging yourself out of bed before dawn was well, well worth it! This work is absolutely “as is” work. No manipulation at all, just what we saw! /
Caught ‘up the sware’ (a local viewpoint) at dawn yesterday ( 23/9/08) as the sun rose over the tweed valley just outside Peebles, scottish borders. An especially heartwarming sight after the wet grey summer we’ve had … and it’s straight from my Nikon 4800 coolpix compact camera, untouched. ;))) See also mist in the valley taken at the same time ! and also front row seat cheers all / ding / :))
A light mist hovers over the still waters of Thompsons Creek and the lake at The Minya Winery , just prior to the sunrise. Pentax istDS Camera.

This dreamy glade in Pisgah National Forest, Western North Carolina, gave me the feeling of being in two worlds at once – the “normal” world we live in and also a world filled with faeries, gnomes and is that a troll hiding in the forest?? I added the Orton effect with PhotoShop to give it an even more dream-like quality and enhanced the colors. This was taken in the early morning hours just after the sun rose. One of the benefits of doing night shift in winter time is getting home sometime past 7am after a cold night at work and being greeted by this wonderful sight. / The scattered eucalyptus in farm paddocks appearing out of the mist. / I have had this image on my computer for quite some time and I liked it (sort of) but the frame of mind never quite took me to do anything with it til now. / It didnt quite do it for me, so I decided to b&w it today. So I did the b&w thing, then cropped the top of it and then thought… “hey I like that crop, I wonder what it looks like in colour?” / So I went back to the colour and gave it the same crop and here it is. Misty haunting morning this morning, sitting in a pine plantation at Mt Burr in the Limestone Coast area of South Australia. Last hints of fog lifting as the sun rose towards a clear blue sky. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with ND4 filter. Three shot HDR converted in Photomatix and cropped to size. Damn it was cold!!!!!!!!!!

Out early this morning to watch the sun rise through the fog in a pine plantation at Mt Burr – Limestone Coast South Australia. Certainly worth the cold to see the beauty as the sun tried to force its way into the forest. Natures strength showing the small re-growth forcing its way up amidst the towering trees. Canon 400D 18 – 55 with ND4 filter. Processed in Photoshop CS3.
The perfect place to sit and watch the sunrise and clearing mist over the beautiful tweed valley in the scottish borders… See also morning glow and mist in the valley I hesitated to post this one earlier but it does rather combine two of my favourite things…. cheers and comments most welcome.. cheers ;)) (ps tried a b&w but am really hooked on these soft tones…) Taken with an old nikon coolpix 4800 / f/2.7 / 1/46sec / ISO-50 / 6mm

“A Boab Sunrise” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Sony a100 camera / Photoshop CS4 artwork The Australian Aboriginal legend of the Boab Tree (or Bottle Tree): “When the tree God created the Boab Tree it was to be the most beautiful of all trees in the universe, with the most beautiful flowers and bearing the juiciest fruit. But as the tree grew to maturity its flowers were mediocre and its fruit had a bad odour and tasted vile. The Tree God became so angry that he yanked the Boab out of the ground and slammed it back in the earth upside down and that is why today, when you see a Boab tree, it looks as if its roots are growing up in the air.” Thangool, Queensland A Boab Sunrise was featured in the: Trees group – Sept 09 Image Writing group – Sept 09 Queensland group – Sept 09 Inspired Art group – Oct 09
