Hey thanks Peter and everyone for putting my and Rebecca Zachariah’s work on the home page. / / I just want to say two things. First of all Rebecca deserves most of the praise. (I just helped with post processing). She took the shot in Rwanda when we were travelling over there. It was the shot of the trip as far as I’m concerned. Better than any of my 3,000. Yes 3,000! / The other thing is, the guys at RB and I haven’t always agreed. They’ve put up with some complaints from me. (Is that a groan I hear from you Peter!) But they have ALWAYS answered respectfully and honestly. Allowing us to agree to disagree or whatever and move on. / I just want to say publicly I really rate that. / So thanks. / And then to follow up by putting this shot on the home page is awesome. Because for me and Bec the whole purpose is about the causes we’re so passionate about. / So thanks guys. Kudos to you and kudos to Rebecca. / Peace.

So everyone knows a little more where we stand, and what is happening with “the polyvore affair”, I will post here the “communication” that has happened between “them” and I. I personally am not done with this. I want Polyvore to respect ALL Artists’ copyrights. Here is a collection of what was said and done, at the end of this writing, I will explain what remains. It is not over yet. / _____ @Polyvore, I am really concerned about the fact that you have dissabeld your own tags, and thereof, you can no longer find new works that are being directed to your site. / I can proove very well that I can still upload pictures form redbubble to your site. / I just did it once again… / I chalenge you to take your own responsibility and find the works that I have uploaded… (as you would have to find lost works that are just still around on your site.) you are the one(s) in charge of your own network, it is for you to fix the mistakes that you have allowed to be produced here. / Perhaps you should also think about removing all works from other similar sites (but I think that it would be much easier on you to tell your members to upload their own products from their computer… If they have copyrights (like we do here) they must have it on their own computers. When I started to be a photographer, I did it on my own time… I did not “steal” any equipment nor copyrighted materials from more experienced people. How can we teach our children to be their own selves if we can’t even let them produce their own works? What is the message you want to carry? But let me tell you that if you can find my work, and you do remove it as soon as you do, that means that you can do the same with ALL of our works… this is YOUR responsibility. It is disgraceful to see that you allow young people to upload “anything” to your site, and then wash your hands clean of it for letting the whole world use it. I am very deceived. and I demand that you do no longer allow ANY directing from other copyrighted sites… I am watching you, and there are a few people that are too… you just won’t always know who we are… nor which site we come from… deviantart, redbubble, photobucket… or any other sites… theft is theft, and it is not acceptable to profit (in any forms, and you sure do profit from getting original works to be played with to attract your clients.) Please do not sing me a sweet song, for you haven’t even replied to half of us through our complaints… I want to be kept updated here as to know what it is you are doing to ensure our rights. Crokus Label, creator of the petition to which you didn’t really reply but to cut and paste your message from here to there. We have a petition of 181 + yourself there, that states that WE want it all removed. It was your mistake in the first place. Fix it. Show the young ones on your site that one must take responsibilities for their own actions. It might help them trust adults, and learn to accept their responsibilities too. Work on changing how your images are getting on your site(get them to upload from their own computers), because I promise to not give up the fight, and I am willing to go to any length to achieve the respect of our copyrights. Our copyrights MUST be respected anywhere. Redbubble memebers or not. Copyrights are OUR rights as artists, anywhere we be. Regards, Crokus Label Photography, creator of the petition to which you should probably look at carefully, for we are many to ask you to remove our works, and not allow it to be posted on your site. So I leave you to the cleaning up of your infringement mess, and I will be back in the morning to see if our petition was well understood. (I too will be copying and pasting this elsewhere so everyone knows where all this is at now.) __ Polyvore, I am somehow deceived as how you have been avoiding me. My account was deleted yesterday and reinstated today (I never have been abusive in my journey to copyright assertion. So I assume this is why you reinstated my account on your site.) Now, I would have thought that you would have got something to reply at least in one of my messages/requests. But even after sending you messages to your site, messages here and on the other thread here at RedBubble, and a link in your Bubblemail to let you know I had left you a message in both threads, you never respond to ANY of my writings… And that either in private. I am still looking for explanations of how things will be handled from your site to stop this violation of copyrights. Still waiting for you to give me a sign of life. Crokus Label Photography. Crokus: i just replied to your bubblemail. As of last night, we have blocked imports from redbubble.com (because redbubble.com staff requested that we do so). You managed to import your image before our site software was updated with that change. We have taken down your image and sets that you mentioned in your message. (Although, we did not understand why you uploaded something only to request to have it removed a few hours later). As we have mentioned several times: we would be happy to comply with take down notices as long as they come from the person who owns the rights to the image and lists which URLs need to be removed. Please allow a reasonable amount of time for us to respond to your request (we usually respond in a few hours, but please allow 24 hours before you hit the panic button). Also, please note that different people have different opinions about how their images should or should not be used online. We would be happy to service group take down requests as we did with RedBubble.com but please don’t send us request to take down all image from site X unless you are sure everyone affected shares your views. I hope this is not construed as lack of cooperation or respect on our part. I hope I answered your questions. _ Polyvore, I have uploaded these to see how your site was “working,” and what will happen with my images, so I precisely know what and how to make sure copyrighted images are not still being used. As for standing up for all artist that have their rights to copyrights of their own material, I can not stay there and do nothing about it, for copyrights are made to be respected, and the very big majority of your images were taken on the net “randomly” by users that do not have them rights; Therefore, I will maintain my position at asking that everybody’s copyrights be respected. If you do not remove them you might have to deal with the consequences of your “inactions”… Most people form other sites can’t ask you to have their works removed, for they are not even aware that they have been imported there. It would only be fair to refuse to respect their copyrights because you believe that they should all come and warn you to remove stuff that they do not even know is on your site. Copyrights are made for EVERYONE to be respected, and I do not believe that when you say that everybody has a different opinion on the issue, you seem to forget that copyrights are the same for everyone, and that includes your site. By refusing today to take care of the real problem, you expose yourself to lawsuits in a near or far future. I must say that you have made some great efforts to remove to remove redbubble’s member’s works, and I appreciate this. I would really appreciate if you would let us know how you will make your best so your members really understand what are copyrights, what consequences there might be to infringe them, and what changes you will/might make in a near future so all artists/photographers works be protect as best as you can. Thank you for this first reply, I appreciate that you finally found time to respond to part of my concerns. Crokus Label _ What do you think? I am not done… but let’s keep pealing the onion… ;) (here are some key words so people can find this form a search engine: polyvore.com, polyvore, action, copyrights, rights, copyright, internet, infringement,Pasha Sadri, violation, fraud, theft, thief, mission, respect, honor, ceo, founder, community, innovator, thieves, scandal, blog, concern, concerned, Unite, unity, help, violator, law, trust, refuse, refusal, blame, )

In celebration of redbubbles own mission statement, i thought id join in on the fun of it and create my own set of mission criteria – in the form of an essayed bulletform statement. an essayed bulletform statement is something that exists. i say so MuscularTeeth MIssion Statement Has no specific mission, unless its – be the ripple in the pond. Doesnt really want to state anything except to say perhap, maybe the following; E) lightearted and lightheaded. A place where the imagination should really be locked away but isnt. / A) Concerning large congregations of moose (meese); its positivly not allowed. J) MuscularTeeth wants to impart a sense of the impossibly weird into the uncharted realms of spontaneous combustive explosiveness in a nice, non threatening manner much like a fluffy bunny with a lighter. )B all references to references should come with a reference. F) Art made shall be like science gone wrong – see einling I) All Art/Sound/Music things to be known as ephemeral, incomplete, far from perfect, marred, tarnished and decaying even as we speak. R) A sense of panic wouldnt be out of place Thank you for reading my mission statement.

...otherwise known as Joseph Donais. Joseph is one of those people you don’t often come across in life. He has the amazing ability to make you look deep inside yourself for things you thought were never there. His poetry is deep, emotional, intense. But it’s much more than that with Joseph – even a word of comment under an image can make one sit staring in thoughtful muse. A number of his works are among my favourites – and his work is one the first I turn to when I need an inspiration. If you haven’t visited this writer, please, please do. And now – Joseph’s interview. What drew you here to the Red Bubble community? All the wonderful work, all the wonderful people / that I would not otherwise have seen in any given day if not for the fabulous RB! How does your creativity affect other aspects of your life? I have an unorthodox problem solving ability, and a special view of the world and people. I found a quiet, detached peace in my relationship with the world. Expression of my concern is much as an archer’s use of his skills to send a message. How many mediums do you work in? Which is your favorite, and why? I work with any tradional medium, just put it into my hands. / Including; clay, paper Mache’, pencil, water color, oils, pastels, caligraphy…many more. My favorite is what ever I am using at that time… from my heart it must come therefore; it must be then. Share with us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful. HERE / Never saw it coming, like a piano from the 14th floor. See comments as well. Show & tell: What three works or people on redbubble have moved or inspired you? Here is one person. / (Sorry Gracey, if I ‘m putting to fine a point on you…heh-heh.) HERE is another. The flame that burns in my blood, drives me though I feel at times so alone. and not the least of three - / HERE If you’ve missed the train I’m on, you will know that I have gone. / You can hear the whistle blow for a hundred miles. / I’m 500 miles from my home, not a shirt on my back, not a penny to my name, Oh Lord I can’t go back home this a-way. / Peter Paul and Mary 500 Miles / Yet this is the way I will go back home, My Father’s house. If you would indulge me … I would add a fourth who is no less mentionable as she has time and time again through her work on the RB caused me to write more than one of my pieces. HERE And HERE please read comments what fun on the RB! There are many others but I had to pick three and hopefully squeeze in a real gem on the RB. ______ To find other interesting interviews, check this Squidoo Lens and this page on The Artisan’s Shout

  • Spiritually Charged - Amber Elizabeth Fromm

In the current wave of artist’s interviews, here’s another that crests at the top and rolls forward toward the sands of Redbubble. A short while ago I had the honour of encountering Amber in the bubble. The first I’d ever really heard of Amber was a portrait posted on another member’s profile. I remember asking him who the lovely was. She wasn’t then a part of Redbubble, and I’m not privvy to what it took to get her here, but I’m thoroughly glad she was convinced to join us. Here is one poet and artist whose work never fails to move the emotional string within the heart – every poem, line by line, weaves it’s message through the reader; from head to heart. One of my personal favourites is this piece. Let me introduce you to Amber: How did you arrive at Redbubble I actually was trying to bond with my significant other Joseph A. Donais aka the dreadfulbride (he is so gifted see here) I thought I could post a poem or two for I had written a few pieces for him … such as “Melt Like Butter” and I thought it would make a nice gift and, surprise, figured since he was a frequent bubbler “if you couldn’t beat them (you darn bubblers) then lets see what it this Red Bubble is about” and joined it – and been hooked ever since. It is a magical place; truly it is… How does your creativity affect other aspects of your life? My creativity affects many aspects of my life, I have an analytical mind, sometimes hard to switch gears and can be a problem … with this seeking nature my creativity often comes out with new solutions to old problems … I search for light at the end of the tunnel and sometimes the simple thought is our best path. I am a flint stone …I look for new ways of looking at life I feel I have a multi-dimensional focus and I see out there. I see myself as a spirit seeking spiritual enlightenment, deeper knowledge and seeking inner peace and spiritual improvement within myself first and in our world… and keeping it simple generally works best for me. How many mediums do you work in? Which is your favourite, and why? I work in many mediums from flowers to tambourines… lyrics to chord, and vocal to instrumentation and paint to ink. I used to think my favorite medium was music but I now believe that word, art, music, sculpture and any and all mediums can touch the soul equally and as powerful. An example of contrasts a silent picture to an overt message can be beautiful. So I have no favorite medium. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special This is really hard – to choose just one, so hopefully you’ll bear with me. To put it to one person and one inspirational moment I would have to say working with Cate Townsend She is a truly wonderful artist (check her out or you’ll be missing something). I believe she bubbled me in the middle of our collaboration and told me she was so spirit filled with compassion and empathy in our collaboration of Stolen Child that she felt she had to stop from her heart breaking, the work had consumed her… This moment I was filled with a deeper compassion and understanding… of true art and true spirit … for the message we were carrying I have never felt so deeply about any other work or with any other artist in collaboration and I wrote her Standing In the Whispers. I was inspired to comfort her and my spirit and encompassed in the work it was of truly spiritual nature a beautiful release and experience. Show & tell: What three works or people on redbubble have moved or inspired you? I will list a I am pushing my favorite works and artists please allow me “Breaking Free” by Sean Farragher / He is a truly gifted photographer and artist Breaking Free This represents to me the darkness of our spirit breaking free and I am a person who is in recovery… I always have to watch my darkness; she lingers… Solareclips aka Julie Her beautiful spirit shines in showing us God’s creation, however small, in a new and wondrous light… Wonderful Bonita – bamagirl38 The spiritual cheerleader of the bubble. Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled… seeing this piece always give me peace and joy in spirit… and heart Leah Hyland and her so talented work Metamorphosis I love changing and growing spiritually for the better and this piece represents that to me in it’s entirety. Raven Soul – her magically dark pieces allow us to see what is in us all check out Despair And finally Shree who is entirely unique in style and pre vision of spirit and practicing the Golden Rule in his walk – this is another wonderful piece Please check these artists out and their beautiful spirits!!!! / Thank you for asking me to do this I truly feel grateful and flattered.

  • The Photographer's Heart, The Scientist's Mind - Dana DiPasquale
    by Gracey

One of my choices for this series of interviews is Dana DiPasquale – not because I know her very well, but because I don’t. I’ve found her photography work to be unique and surprising. Her combination of simple vignette’s and unusual composition results in some seriously emotive pieces. In particular, I was taken with her architectural work Some of my favourite pieces in her work are this old-time piece Our Name is Virtue ...followed closely by Waiting to Say Goodbye and it’s companion piece Lost in this World You won’t be sorry for having taken the time to read this interview. As it turns out, Dana is an artist whose life intrudes into her work in a most delightful way. What drew you here to the Redbubble community? I had my work and my father’s work (which I promote for him) on another art site. Unfortunately for me, that site was primary selling paintings, and photography took a distant back seat. Plus, there was little interaction among members and no avenues for learning. Someone on that site mentioned RB so I decide to check it out and was pleasantly surprised that within days of being here I won a competition. It was just the right pat on the back I needed to keep my spirits high enough to continue trying to get better. How does your creativity affect other aspects of your life? Well, this one may be hard to believe as it is does not present the stereotypical image. I am a scientist and I study exercise physiology (think of the Gatorade advertisements of athletes being tested). So, I work with both basic laboratory techniques (eg, test tubes, cells, etc) and with Olympic hopefuls, professional athletes, amateur athletes, the weekend warrior, and people with physical disabilities. My creativity allows me to wrap my head around complex physiological states which people may not always associate – for example, if I train my body to perform at high altitudes, will that also help my body adapt to high temperatures? The 2 conditions are usually thought of separately but I came up with a way in which one could help the other. A more practical example would be when I design exercises for people. Exercise physiologists are not often taught specific exercises to prescribe like a physical therapist might be. Often we have to use our knowledge of physics, biomechanics, anatomy, and physiology to create movements which will use particular muscles or motor skills. To do this well, you must be creative or your clients will quickly become bored of their exercises or adapt to them and not get any additional health benefits from performing them. There was an older woman who was a member health club I used to work when I was in college. She used to tell me “Dana, I can always tell who your clients are when you aren’t even in the gym because they are always the people who are hanging upside down or doing something I have never seen before.” How many mediums do you work in? Which is your favourite, and why? I started with drawing and painting, both of which produced good results only occasionally. It was actually the extreme expense of painting (along with the frustration of not being able to create what I wanted) that sent me to photography. I’m glad it did, though, because now I can enjoy creating things instead of fighting with it all the time. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful. I have been fortunate enough to make 2 very special friends on RB, people I would consider my go-to people for when I have a problem. The funny thing is that even though they live half way around the world, I can always count on them being there more than the friends I have who live within a few blocks of me. To know that I can chat away, laugh, and cry on the phone for hours with people I have never even seen, makes you realize how similar we all are. What inspires your work? I am inspired by 3 general things: strong shapes and lines, looking at common objects from a different perspective and everyday scenes from my life which others can emotionally relate to. The latter is probably just my way of dealing with life’s struggles whereas the others come from an old movie I took to heart. It was “Dead Poet’s Society” when Robin Williams had his students stand on top of their desks and look at the same room they had been in for years from a new vantage point. You are instantly removed form your current circumstances and constraints. It suddenly creates a whole new world, making what were once common things less common, problematic things less weighty, ugly things more beautiful, old thing new again, idealized things more ordinary.

  • The Astonishing Reality of Martin Kirkwood
    by Gracey

Having only recently had the opportunity to really look at Martin’s work instead of glancing …

Having only recently had the opportunity to really look at Martin’s work instead of glancing through his portfolio I find myself astonished at how much reality appears in his work – and at how versatile he is with different mediums. I love his abstracts, but also his portraits – it’s difficult to choose a favourite from among this amazing display. This self portrait is one I find myself drawn to, though it isn’t offered for sale. The face is most expressive, and while it’s titled “An artist at play”, one can feel the concentration in this. From the abstract works, I find a pleasing range of colour, texture and balance in Abstract1 It is nearly impossible to select a favourite from among the portraiture – most are very expressive and beautifully done. If pushed to the wall I might select Lance Or Lesley But there are many other pieces of interest as well – a lovely cat portrait, and interesting one of discs, even some doodles. Visit Martin’s own website for even more. Martin is a man of few words, but some of them will make you smile. What drew you here to the Redbubble community? I got kicked out of my favoutite website for breaking the rules. I’m not sure what the rules were but a great Aussie photographer pointed me here. How does your creativity affect other aspects of your life? It buggers it up completely. I work as a tour coach driver in the UK and there are laws against sketching and painting while at the wheel of a large passenger carrying vehicle. How many mediums do you work in? Which is your favourite, and why? I’ve lost count of mediums. A psychic i confided in earlier this week said 6 but I reckon it’s nearer 8. Oil is my favouite. It has supernatural tendencies that can only be explained by diluting it with varying spirits and other unworldly stuff. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful. Oh crikey. That’s a tricky one. Being noticed by the “Painters in Modern Times” group and being a featured artist in their “Best of Showcase” made me spit coffee all over my keyboard. I no sooner wiped my laptop clean when I was invited to be a joint group host. I’m still in a state of shock. Show & tell: What three works or people on redbubble have moved or inspired you? I can’t answer this question without mentioning my Dad If it wasn’t for my father’s encouragement I’d have put down my brushes years ago. 3 works? Moonglow Over Bixby reminds me that painting isn’t dead yet despite being swamped by digital stuff. Karsten Stier’s work is incredible. Starving Artist leaves me wondering whether to laugh or cry. Flibble’s Shelf Portrait just made me laugh out loud. It’s just brilliant.

  • *Why Does African Countries not do more to help the poor?*.

I have received emails and several bubblemails asking several questions about funding and Poverty in Africa. I will endeavour to answer these questions in this document. I will address these issues raided by Dyle Warren, [SEE DYLE’s AWESOME WORK HER ON REDBUBBLE] DAYLE’S Questions and concerns I believe are the concerns of many so this is his bubblemail. / [I was wondering if you could answer a question about Africa that I have had for years. America and so many countries have come to their aid for decades and all my life Africa has needed help from other nations (CARE, UNICEF, etc.) because of disease and starvation. / Africa is one of the richest nations on Earth why doesn’t this country help themselves and tap into their own resources instead of having their hands out all the time? Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to cause an argument but for the life of me I’ve never been able to understand this and they have had children starving for years. / Possibly you can enlighten me because honestly if a country won’t help themselves for decades and decades I find I have less and less sympathy for the country…..not the children. / Looking forward to your answer as I’ve never heard an answer for it… / Thanks, / Dyle] THE NEED TO HELP, AND WHY WE HELP. / The need for UNICEF, UNHCR, CARE and other organizations to help African countries is as Follows. These are only a few. / 1. Sickness and disease is killing millions each year. Famine, War and son on. / 2. African countries do not have the facilities or indeed the knowledge in some cases to better themselves. / 3. In certain African countries, Government does not have the money or the solutions to solve the problems. / These are only a few reasons why. Other reasons why US, UK and other countries contribute towards these countries is because other countries have a vested interest in gaining from these countries vast oil reserves, Gold, and other precious commodities, in return for humanitarian relief. Sadly world politics plays a part in who we help and how we help, and also what we get in return. WHY DO THESE RICH AFRICAN COUNTRIES NOT USE THEIR VAST WEALTH TO HELP THEMSELVES? / Many do invest in their countries infrastructure, economic growth and world trade. Nigeria, Uganda South Africa are just a few that do that. The problem is they often invest in oil production, gold, diamonds and other natural wealth. But Corruption, greed and favouritism among government officials have damaged this effort and much of the wealth goes into projects that do not help the suffering and extreme poor. War Disputes and other challenges have often marred good work. / Just like American or British members of Government, many loose touch with the real suffering of ordinary people, especially in deep rural and isolated villages. These members of Government are well paid and live comfortable lives. Few have ever experienced what it is like to have no food, or no hope of growing enough food. Most have never felt the pain of a mother watching her baby die, because she could not find enough food to eat, and her breast milk has dried up. / They have never lived in rural villages where the water they drink causes people to go blind, and others die in agony from intestinal worms. / They have not seen crippled children crawl on their bellies, because of diseases that could have been prevented. Many Government officials live in luxury, drive in government vehicles and fly first class, all paid by tax payers. Not all have lost touch, and do hear the cry of the suffering people within their borders. Others do care and know only to well the sufferings, but they are often discouraged and pressurised by senior members. / Loose and foolish words, years of tribal conflicts and cruel wars have all played a part in hindering their efforts in sharing that countries wealth with all its citizens. / I may seem very harsh here, but I have spent years working among the African countries, and experienced first hand corruption and self cantered projects. But in saying this, there are good People serving their people as best they can. / UNICEF, UNHCR and other World Governments have done tremendous work in Africa. Uganda used to be the most corrupt government in all Africa. This was a well known fact among NGO’s GOVERNMENTS and some smaller organisations. Now through Western Government intervention and help, Uganda is a thriving country. It’s Government has become stable and corruption has almost died. This has happened through United states, united Kingdom, DUTCH and other countries intervention. It still ahs a way to go yet, to reach its goals, but a great change has taken place. / Kenya is another African country riddled with corruption, yet it is changing through UNHCR, UNICEF and Western government intervention and pressure. So in short we do well. / STILL NEED FOR BETTER OVERSEA’S POLICIES. / One of the worst problems within western governments is its lack of wisdom and common sense. / Even today, American, British and other countries give Billions of dollars to African countries, via that African countries government. Here is the problem. Many spend the money on Business, and better world trade. But most do not invest in its people. While they spend millions on better roads and better airports, plus its military and other cosmetic projects, whole villages are wiped out through sickness and disease, Poverty. It is time for the western rich nations to look at better ways of funding the relief of suffering in Africa. Tighter rules need to be implemented and restrictions on how much they can spend on military budgets and Government officials salaries. / So you see there are a whole mixture of reasons why some African countries cannot or won’t give more of what they get from the rich west towards the ordinary people living in dire poverty. God Bless those who are honest and do what they can top alleviate the suffering. One of my biggest criticisms is the huge overheads and over exaggerated costs of SOME, not all of the big CHARITIES, NGO’s and well known relief organisations. What they need to remember is that most of their money is donated by businesses, and Ordinary people like you and I. They have no money of their own. It comes from Government grants , individuals and just ordinary people like us. Yet many receive over exaggerated salaries, and misuse the funds they have. UNHCR and others have donated 4 Wheel drives vehicles to many small grass root organisations, that do not need them, and use them for their own personal use. I speak from experience her, and have seen this for years. This is all money Tax payers have paid. Governments have used money for the wrong reasons.. Please do not misunderstand me here. I am not in any way saying all big organisations are in anyway like this. But they need to be held accountable to us here in richer countries. Not by fiddling the account books. They need to check on what is happening. The UNITED NATIONS needs to get their act together. They can do much better that what they are doing. Every department within the UN, need to improve. This is why I formed Philadelphia Mission in 1995. I returned from Rwanda and Uganda from Mission work. I wanted a Charity, build up of members who did not get a salary, or expense account. People who would work for the poor out of genuine concern and Love. Members who wanted to work hands on with the poor ,and live among them. This is what we do in Philadelphia Mission. About two months ago, Redbubble started Mission Share The Love, a series of continuing interviews. As a former interviewee, it is my honor to pass it on and introduce you to Maria Dryfhout. While browsing galleries on Redbubble, I came across Maria’s work and became an instant fan. If you need a special card, her gallery has one for every season and occasion. You will quickly see that she has a great photographer’s eye and her images are outstanding. Emile Zola once said “The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without the work.” Maria definitely has the gift and all of her hard work is evident in her creations. It has been a delight to get to know Maria and now it is your turn to meet her! With her work, Maria can inspire… …she can make you smile… …or she can make a point INTERVIEW WITH MARIA DRYFHOUT What drew you here to the Redbubble community? I heard about RedBubble a year ago. I joined finally on September 2, 2007. What subjects do you enjoy the most in your work? There are so many favorites subjects and it also depends what mood I am in. I photograph stock photography as well as scenic. I love taking food pics (and no, I do not eat the hot fudge sundae after the shoot!). My grandkids also have become little models but that also depends what mood they are in. I live near a great beach with many photo opps there, especially by the “Big Red” lighthouse. The four seasons here in Michigan all have their unique beauty and colors. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful. There are so many that I love sharing opinions, ideas and conversations in the past year, but two people stand out from the crowd. Kimberly Palmer and Bonnie Taylor Barry have a great deal of patience with me as I learn new things with Adobe CS2. They are so supportive and a great inspiration for me. They motivate me in the right direction. When I need help, they are there for me. What three people on Redbubble have moved or inspired you? Kimberly Palmer / Bonnie Taylor Barry / Jeanne What goals do you have for your work outside of Redbubble? I would love to continue to make people happy with my photographs. Every day is a gift and photographs help us to remember what was yesterday. I also would not mind seeing one of my images on a magazine cover or on a billboard… I want to end this interview with a quote that I have posted on my refrigerator. It says it all.. “What I like most about photography is the moment that you can’t anticipate: you have to be constantly watching for it, ready to welcome the unexpected.” -author unknown

  • The Remarkable Art of Susi Lawson!
    by Patricia Montgomery

As a member of RB’s Share The Love mission, t…

As a member of RB’s Share The Love mission, this is the 2nd in a series of interviews to introduce you to another talented artist. One day in March, not long after joining Redbubble, I was commenting on someone’s image when I was drawn to the avatar of a lady who had commented just above me. I thought to myself, now this looks like someone who has a delightful personality. As you will soon learn, Susi Lawson is charming, caring, and creative. She is a talent package bursting at the seams – a digital artist, photographer, instructor and writer! Her precious little neighbor, Cassa, is sometimes a model and one of my favorites is an image called School Daze. Susi conveys perfectly (through Cassa) the personification of childhood! Susi’s extraordinary works, Tiber River Walk and Catharsis are a canvas for her incredible talent in the artistry of digital painting. She is an outstanding portrait photographer and the post-processing afterwards is extraordinary. Susi captured the inner essence of a Native American in her portrait, Cherokee Pride and in the Face of a Farmer she shows us the authenic beauty to be found in a face weathered with character. And she can touch your heart with a tender tribute to a dear friend. During your browsing of all the treasures that fill Susi’s image gallery, be sure to look for the self-portrait that speaks volumes about her sense of humor! If only we all could look this good in a zany self-portrait! Susi was delightful to interview and it has been a pleasure to get to know her. The hard part of this interview was finding enough adjectives to properly describe her work. So forget the adjectives, seeing is believing! And now it time for Susi to talk! What drew you here to the Redbubble community? First it was the respect for work of all the artists here. By that, I mean the prominent copyright messages that help protect our work that we spend so many hours creating. Then there is the option to sell or simply to display what we create. But what has kept me here is the sense of warmth , friendliness and positive energy that I feel whenever I sign in! This is such a supportive and fun community! How does your creativity affect other aspects of your life? Creativity IS my life, I was born to create as I think we all are. Creativity is the opposite of destruction, so I see it really on a spiritual level, ya know? As long as we are busy creating (positive) then we have no time for destroying (negative) so Art is sort of the Zen of spiritual maintenance :-) / / I truly believe that art, of any kind, whether it be visual, musical or otherwise, makes us all the more compassionate and empathetic to our fellow humans, as we are taking in the world around us as ‘observers’ and sharing what and how we see the world and receiving feedback to validate this experience. We are saying simply, “I am alive and I know you are alive and we all have something of value to contribute.” It is so simple but also profound in its simplicity. How many mediums do you work in? Which is your favorite, and why? I used to work in watercolor, color pencil, charcoal and acrylic and used my camera all my life to capture moments in which to take to paper or canvas. I have always loved visual art. Then in 2003 my right arm froze in place (adhesive capsulitis) and I had to have shoulder surgery. It took a year to work thru this whole process and so I began to work more with my digital camera as an art form itself rather than a tool for my traditional work. It was too painful to raise my arm to the canvas or apply pressure on paper so I started teaching myself Photoshop with the encouragement of a great Aussie photographer, Nick Lagos. I soon fell in love with combining photography and art in the computer and a new passion was born! (Thanks Nick!) To answer the 2nd part of the question: My favorite medium now is Corel Painter and Photoshop using a Wacom tablet and my Canon 1dMKIII camera. What subjects do you enjoy the most in your work? I have always been entranced by the human face! Since grade school I have been drawing and photographing the people around me. I was a very timid child and the camera or sketch pad, gave me the courage to express myself and share my thoughts and feelings by the wonderful interaction of Art. I have ventured into landscape and other areas of Photography, but the portrait will always be my passion. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on Redbubble particularly special or meaningful. I have to say Billy Boy is my favorite member here as he is always so upbeat and supportive! There are times I have had a bad day and get on Redbubble and see that Billy Boy has left a humorous or generous comment that reads as so heartfelt that it lifts my spirits up! Thanks, Billy! What three works or people have moved or inspired you? Denise Romano is a newcomer to digital photography and not only is my friend here in town, but I met her during my shoulder ordeal, as she was my superb physical therapist and an immediate bud. Denise also turned to digital photography in her own personal challenges and asked for some assistance in choosing camera equipment. It has been wonderful watching her grow and evolve so quickly and become the talented photographer you now see here! Don Seegmiller is my favorite Digital artist and I contacted him two years ago and asked how he achieved his amazing art and he said “Buy Corel Painter and a Wacom tablet” and I did. This was a real turning point and a big “AHA moment” in my exploration of digital art! This new software and stylus pen changed the whole look and feel of my work and started getting my work noticed on the web. Don teaches at CG Society and I was fortunate to make it into one of his figure classes last year, which I highly recommend. (His books are also superb) David Harvey I must thank! Not only is he a Professor of Astronomy in Tucson, AZ, but an incredible portrait photographer! I was amazed to find out he admired my work as well and he built and sent me a computer that was fast enough for me to start making Video DVD lessons to teach others how I create my portraits. I will never forget his generosity and sheer act of kindness. I now sell my lessons on my “web site“:http://susilawsonphotography.biz. What goals do you have for your work outside of Redbubble? I now write articles for Rangefinder, AfterCapture, Creative Photoshop and Corel Painter magazines which keeps me very busy and is also educational as we can’t help but learn as we write about what we love. I will continue to produce a new set of video lessons once a year. I now have three and I am planning another release close to Christmas. If anyone wants to share with me what they would like to see on the next lessons please do! I also am playing around with some book ideas! My daughter is leaving for college this week so I am considering teaching workshops. I have not yet decided if I want to teach through organizations such as NAPP or WPPI or create my own workshops. I plan to start locally to get my feet wet! I just want to keep evolving and growing and embracing the digital art field which I feel honored to be a part of. One of my dreams is to travel and meet some of the amazing buds I have made online in communities such as Redbubble. But even though I cannot reach out and shake your hand or give you a hug, know that you are appreciated and loved more than you know! Without a community to provide support, feedback, acknowledgment and encouragement, I know I would never have achieved my goals or be able to set future ones, so thank you Redbubble and all the Bubble Buds who make this place a home!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This message is inspired by a piece of art created by longball a great artist on Redbubble. IT IS FINISHED. Have you ever spent time and considered the last words of Christ when he was on the cross? What did he mean when he said it is finished? What did he achieve for all mankind? I want to share with you some deep truths and thoughts on the last words of Our Lord on the cross. It is my prayer that as you read, the Holy Spirit will grant you revelation Knowledge so that you to fully understand and comprehend this cry “It is Finished”. Matthew 26: 36-42. [In the garden of Gethsemane]. Before I explain the deep truths recorded in the last words of Jesus on the cross, let us go back a little to the garden of Gethsemane. The writer plainly states that Jesus was heavy in spirit. He was sad and heavily laden with cares. So he went to prey to his father. He know only to well what lay before him and he prayed these words. / “O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done”. / Jesus, before he could finish his work here on earth knew the price he would pay. But what caused him to be so heavy with fear that angels came and ministered to him? Why did he cry out with these words, He asked his father to spare him the suffering that lay before him. Yet he knew that it was necessary for him to suffer and become the sacrificial lamb. This cry was not borne from the fact he knew the beating post lay before him. You see Jesus Knew that they would tie him to a beating post and there he would be cruelly whipped. / (Psalms 129:3) The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. / He knew that there at that beating post every stripe they lay upon him was the price he would pay for our healing. Understand this, He experienced in his body fully every disease that has been or ever will be. He felt the pains of Cancer as it ate away at his flesh. He cried as the crushing blow of heart disease reeked through his body. Blood diseases, Sicknesses of every kind. He actually experienced them all so we by his stripes can now be healed. He paid the price for our healing. Many had experience the beating post before him and after him. What was different about Jesus was that he took every sickness and disease upon himself. He pained and wreathed in agony for your right to divine health. But it was not the beating post that made him ask his father to remove it before him. / It was not the fact that he knew they would spit on him and pull the very hair from his beautiful cheeks. It was not the fact that they would drive nails deep into his hands and feet, nor was it the fact that he knew they would mock and revile him, strip him naked and place a crown of Jerusalem thorns upon his head. What was it that Jesus feared the most and asked his father to remove?. My Friend, in spite of all these terrible cruelties that lay before him, there was one thing Jesus feared more than all this. THAT WAS SERERATION FROM HIS LOVING FATHER. He was with God from the beginning of time. He never was separated from his Father before. But he knew that God is Holy and that he would not look on sin. Jesus knew what price he would pay for our redemption. [Separation from God]. Just as sin separates all people from God, so he to would be separated and experience the vast void between man and his creator. Jesus Would become a curse. / (Galatians 3:13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. He would become sin. / (2 Corinthians 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. / Just before Jesus Cried out “IT IS FINISHED” he cried another heart rending cry. (Mark 15:34) And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?. My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? / At this point The Father turned away from His dying son Jesus. Total serration took place. At this point Jesus was alone on the cross, and in his own words forsaken. What Sorry and terrible misery he went through was nothing compared with separation from his Fathers presence and his love. Now there was no one to strengthen him, no angels to comfort him and no Fathers loving arms to secure him. Alone and abandoned, Yet he cries in deep love towards his Father, My God, My God. Although separated he still loved his father. A son cries out to his father My God, My God! / After this he died. Friends when Jesus cried out “It is finished”, He paid in full the penalty of sins punishment. He alone was the only one that was counted worthy to do this. Angels were not worthy, only Gods beloved son. He did it all for you. If you were the only person in the word he would have done it for you. / That’s why I always tell people that, “There is a place in Gods heart for you, and only to can take that place”. He finished his work. He paid the price and now all men can be saved from Punishment, of sin and an eternity of suffering. He has now made all those who have received him as Lord and Saviour, Sons of God. Children of the most high, New creations, Yes Born again. Cor 5:17. His Blood not only washes away your sins, But because at the whipping post he took your sicknesses and deseases, He has saved you and healed you, If you are indeed born again. It does not stop there my Friend. As a child of god he has brought you into his Fathers inheritance! He has given you the legal right to Health and Prosperity. As He sis so are we in this world. *1 John 4:17. He has made you a King and Priest. Rev 1:6. You are more than a conqueror. He Lives in you, You reign with him. Because he lives you to live. For in him we have all. * (Acts 17:28) For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Jesus has secured all for us. If you have not received Jesus as Lord and Saviour, Please do so now. Just talk to him. Pray this Prayer, from your heart and He will forgive you and save you. He will live inside you. You will experience Love like no other love. You will hear him as he speaks to you through his word and Spirit. Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe in you. I believe that you died for me, that You took my punishment on the cross, and that If I ask you to come into my heart you will. Jesus Forgive me as I have sinned. Pardon me, and wash away all my wrongs and sins. Come into my heart now. Open my eyes to who you really are and make yourself real to me. I surrender my life to you Jesus. Fill me with your life and make my life beautiful. Heavenly Father I receive Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Amen. I pray this will indeed shed some light on the words Jesus cried on the cross. IT IS FINISHED*

What Love is?. Countless numbers of people, from young to old, from Atheist to Christian, from all walks of life, have asked this question. Many have pondered this question at one time or another and come up with many explanations to What is Love. Some say I am in love, or I feel love, or I must be in love. Love is more that just a feeling, more than just a desire, and often Love is not what that person feels at all. It is my intent here to address and answer the question what is love?. What love is Not. 1. Love is not a strong sexual feeling or physical attraction to someone or something. 2. Love is not something that dies after some time, or switches on and off. 3. Love never seeks to destroy, wound or hurt anyone. 4. Love never blames or condemns. 5. There are those who say they Love God, yet in his name murder and kill men, woman and Children, with Gun, Bullet and bombs. This is not Love. I am sure many readers can add their own views and beliefs of what love is not. But above are just a few of them. In our world today, so many teenagers become pregnant at such a young age, Children having Children, and often the father is nowhere to be seen. Many Say it was because they loved each other and it just happened. This is not love. Marriages and relationships that many thought were build on Love have broken in pieces. Good friends who say they loved each other have fallen apart and in some cases bitter feelings of hurt and resentment linger. Muslim extremists Claim to Love God, [Allah] Yet they do not know God or his Love. / The Church throughout History have massacred millions of people all in the name of the God whom they confess to love. At the Alter, men and woman take their marriage vows before God and the congregation. They promise to LOVE, honour and Obey each other. / Yet a little later in their marriage, they part for many reasons. But one reason I believe stands out more than any other and that is, They have not known real Love. The excitement of the intimate times of sharing each others bodies has become not so exciting anymore. The respect and Patience they ones had for each other has almost died. Some look for this in anothers whom they often call LOVERS. But True Love really never dies. / If they had real love before they married, If they had known what Real Love is, and the giver of real Love, Many today would still be together, and Children would not be caught up in the hurt. A NOTE ON MARRIAGE. Marriage is an institution created by God. It is a Holy Union where two people join together as one and pledge their lives to each other. Its not something to go through to satisfy man made laws. It is certainly not something to go through so as to have a big day and invite lots of friends and family. It is much more that this. Marriage is something more important that this. Although these qualities can make a wonderful day to be remembered, it is Much, Much more than all this. Marriage is a Holy union between a man and a woman. But before you can enter into this union with each other and God, You must first Know God. You need a relationship with God, and to Understand His Love. You need to experience his Love in your heart, and understand How God Loves. What Depths God went to show you his love and the cost to him. / When you have been touched by the God Love, then you will truly know What Love Is. Love is Power! When a man and a woman who have received Jesus Christ into their lives and made him their first love Stand before their God, They stand before him with Jesus Love in their Hearts. / *, speaks of the Born again person. God has spread his love abroad in your heart by Christ Jesus his son. So now you have His Love in you. This cannot be said of those who do not know God or has not personally Acknowledged Jesus as their saviour and Lord. NOTE. In spite of many not knowing God personally and his Love, when they take Holy Vows, God still Loves them and often Blesses that union, with Grace and Peace. Often this Couple find God and his love through Marriage. I am not saying here that all marriages are doomed, because people were ignorant to God and his Love. He is a God of Supreme Love. HOW DO I LOVE?. (Deuteronomy 10:12). And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. This was the Old Testament commandment given by God to his people. To Love God with all your heart and with all thy soul. But man broke this covenant with God. He went after other gods and loved himself and the ungodly pleasures more that God. He chose hate, war, material riches and to love himself and others more than God. So Man broke this covenant. / Nothing much has changed today as we look around us. But Something has changed that has changed the lives of countless peoples all over the world. God sent His Son into the world. Man Cannot love God or each other in the way God wants them to. it’s the same with Salvation. You cannot earn it, or work for it. It is a Gift from God. You cannot Live by Gods word without having The Holy Spirit living within you, and the acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. *You must understand the depth of Gods love for you. You need to understand The Sacrifice God made for you, so you could experience his Love in your Heart. / No living soul can Love with perfect love until Gods Perfect Love has been shed abroad in their hearts. Without Jesus, we cannot know what real Love is. HOW DID GOD REVEAL HIS PERFECT LOVE?. / (1 John 4:8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. I need to make it clear here that humans can show Love. It is something God has placed in us all. It is A choice we make. We limit at times our love to others. But what I am talking about in this message is not the human love with its limits. I am talking about perfect Love. [Agape Love-Gods love. Perfect love without limits. / (1 John 4:16) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. / John 3:16-17 / (16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. / (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Because of Gods perfect love towards us, he sent his son, Jesus, to take our sins, sicknesses and diseases upon himself, and be punished in our stead, so that through his death and resurrection, he could place his Love in our heart. To all who receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, they are born again. A new creation 2 Corinthians 5:17. All their past sins have been washed away in the blood Jesus shed, as an atonement for sin. The Moment you ask Jesus into your heart, you receive his forgiveness, and GODS PERFECT LOVE. As You continue to follow him, read his words, pray and trust him, his love grows inside you. It will empower you to love, those who speak all manner of evil against you, those to lie about you, those who have abused you and hurt you. Instead of hatred and bitterness you will desire that Jesus will save and change them as he did you. You will find yourself praying in tears and overwhelming love for them. Even God himself has said to you in JOB 22:30. “I will change all those for whom you intercede” [Amplified Bible]. When you are tired and run out of steam, you will find yourself compelled by Gods Perfect love, to going that extra mile to help someone in need! When a Son, Daughter, husband, wife, friend or anyone hurts you, you will not retaliate with bitter wounding words, because God Loves them and his love in you will indeed empower you to be silent and pray in your heart, knowing that God will bring a change in their lives just like he promised you in Job 22:30 [Amp bible]. LOVE IS. / 1. Pure and unselfish. It never seeks its own comfort or pleasure. 2. Love is kind and compassionate. 3. Love is patient and longsuffering. 4. Love is Considerate and Merciful. / 5. Love is warm and never cold. 6. Perfect love is God, For God is the author of Love. When God Allowed his son to be tied to a beating post, and receive the lashes of cruel whips. It was Love for you. When he experienced every sickness and disease upon his body it was so that you can be free from all sickness and disease. It was Because he loves you and wants you to be healthy. When they plucked the hairs from Jesus face, when they spate upon him, mocked him and punched him, he endured it because he loved you with perfect love. When They laid him down upon a cross and drove nails into his hands and feet, It was because he loved you. / When they lifted him up on that cross and he hung ther nine hours it was because he truly loved you and he know that he must pay te price for your salvation. He did not want you to be punished for the sin in your life so he in love took your punishment. THIS IS LOVE!. Yes my Friend, THIS IS LOVE!. It Was Love that took Jesus to the cross. It was Love that held him there and not nails. It was love that satan desired to kill, but he failed. Because Love rose from the grave and now that Same Love lives in your heart. THIS IS LOVE! Until you have this love sown in your heart by receiving Jesus as your Lord, You will never know how to love Gods way. I will close with the words of an old hymn. “O love that will not let me go, I give you back the life I owe, / That it might Richer, fuller be”. Receive Jesus today and learn to love Gods way. http://www.philadelphia33.org/ Jesus He called my name. For all who are Christian, those who have been born again and received Jesus as lord and Saviour, there was a time when you heard Jesus Call your name. A time when you knew that The Lord loved you and wanted your heart. This is what I mean when I say He called my name. for those who have read my personal testimony, you will know that he called my name. When I was a chronic Alcoholic, gambler and one who practiced witchcraft. *. Due to the requests of friends I have met via Redbubble, I have decided to share with you, how the lord called me to serve him in Africa. A call to service. [As the Lord lives and is true and holy, I certify that what you are about to read is a true account of how Jesus called me into Missionary Service. This is still as fresh in my memory today as it was when this incredible event took place in my life] On Friday 26th August 1994, I was troubled in my spirit all day. I sat and watched Television and read a book, but yet I felt God wanted to speak to me, but I did not know what he wanted. So my wife said to me that I should just go to the park and pray. It was 6.05pm in the evening when I arrived at the park, and I parked my car and started to walk around the park. / I was walking and looking at the swans on the pond and praying at the same time. Then with not warning at all, I became aware that someone was walking close behind me. I did not look back, but knew someone was behind me. I continued walking along a narrow footpath and as I did I felt a person’s hand holding mine. There was no fear or indeed any desire to look to see who this was that was holding my right hand. / It was very strange looking back now to why I did not want to see who it was. This would have been anyone’s reaction at the time. I felt warm and at peace, not knowing that It was *Jesus who was the one actually holding my hand. I was Praying in the Spirit [speaking to God in the gift of tongues]. Then Jesus said my name, Trevor. It was the softness and Love in his voice that caused me to look and as I say my Masters face, I knew that It was him. He did not need to tell me it was Jesus. When Jesus comes to you my friend, you won’t need any introduction or explanation, for you will know it is the King of kings that has called your name. In an instant tears my friend flowed down my face, and I was crying like I have never cried before. My emotions were overwhelmed with sadness and sorrow, because his eyes were filled with tears also and he was quietly weeping. Here was my Jesus holding my hand and he was crying. I could not understand why I was not jubilant with Joy. His sorrow pierced my very fibre of my being. By now, I was transported away from all consciousness of being in the park on a bright summer evening and we were in a dark place. The Only way I can describe this pace is to use a well as an example. Imagine a deep round stone well, empty, and you are at the bottom of it. It is very round and very wide. So can hardly see the other side of it, and you can just make out the huge stones that form the round sides of it. It’s dark at the bottom and you cannot see any light, except the light that emanates from Jesus Garments. This is how it seemed at that point. As I Gazed into his face, he spoke these words to me. / “Trevor, My Son, I want to show you something, do not be afraid my son for I am with you”. There was a short silence as these words took hold of me. He gently squeezed my hand and began to walk forward in this dark place. As we went forward, he was still weeping, and I could hear voices in the distance and different kinds of noises, like doors opening and closing, and A smell that I had never experienced before. I was crying as the Passion and sorrow of Jesus seemed to flow into my heart. It was so hard to carry such sadness and I have never experienced this before or after. Then I began to see people at my left side and all were chained to the walls and terrible sores were all over them, and all were shouting things at Jesus. I could not make out what they were saying, but Jesus was crying and weeping. The smell was terrible and there were some that when they say him cried as well. As we went forward the light that was so white lit up the side and a little ahead. The place was so big and wide I could not see the other ends. Then he again spoke to me “Trevor my Son, Do not be afraid”. I was scared, but his words just melted away any fears I had. We then came to a place where I saw am Casket alone and as we walked pass, a man spoke and said “Jesus, Why have you let me come here?. Jesus with tears answered him and said “Judgement has been set”. Again the man shouted at him and started to explain to Jesus that he was a pastor and that all his life he served Jesus and Preached and give to those in need. Jesus said again to him, “Judgement has been set”. / / All the time Jesus was weeping and I was looking at Jesus all the time, and I never did see the man, but knew he was a man, because of his voice. Again the man pleaded with Jesus and told him many other good things he had done and as he was talking, Jesus raised his other hand and stopped the man from speaking. Then Jesus said to the man, “ I sent you warnings, I sent messengers to warn you and you did not repent, for the woman you slept with was not the wife I had given you, and you died in your sins, therefore Judgement has been set”. Jesus was very sad, and began to lead me further into this dark and cold place. Then we came to another place like a very large open place with walls so thick and wide and there were like empty prison cells all around. One cell stacked upon another and I could not see where they ended, and they were so high. Then Jesus knelt down on his knees and was now crying and I could feel his body shaking. All this time he was still holding my right hand. I stood beside him with tears flowing down my face and my heart was breaking with compassion and sadness for my Lovely Lord Jesus. I then knelt down beside him and wanted to hold him close, but I was so troubled to see My Lord cry like this. Then I asked him the only question I asked through all of this. “Lord, why are you crying, there is nobody here?. In what seemed like a long time we both cried and cried. Then still kneeling, Jesus looked deep into my eyes and said, / “This Place is prepared for all those who do not know my name”. / As I looked all around, I now could hear screams and fluttering wings and rustlings above our heads high above where we were. I saw in the darkness shadows of what I can only describe as winged demons, hellish beings flying about. Jesus was weeping so hard and as he stood up, I was still on my knees. He looked into my face and said to me “My Son, Go to Africa, to the villages and proclaim my name among the people, Go tell them who I am and that I love them, and I will be with you each step you take” Then Again suddenly, as if no time passed, I was back in the park. The first thing I became aware of was that I could not feel his hand in mine. I cried and begged him to come back again, and I remember saying Lord there is so much I want to ask you. The Holy Spirit then opened the eyes of my understanding and I realised that God had allowed me to have a vision where Jesus came and called my name. Where he had appeared to me and called me for service. I was deeply shaken and all they way back to my car, I was worshipping my lord in tongues [heavenly Language]. How I drove home, I do not know, and as I told my wife and we both just praised God and give thanks. I told my pastor the following day Saturday 27th August 1994, and the response are you sure it was Jesus. I was upset and few in the church the following day had any encouragement. So On Monday 27th August 1994 I went to my local travel agent and asked how much a ticket would be for Uganda. As a boy in School we had a visiting teacher from Uganda. I marvelled at the little round huts they lived in and the photographs she showed us was amazing. So I settled it that Uganda was the place God wanted me to go. The ticket was £530.00. I had no money so I sold my car. I was determined to get to where Jesus sent me and do what he told me to do. All this time and even now. I still see my Lord and the love in his beautiful eyes. Yes I still cry and know someday I will be with him forever. I Got the exact money from the sale of my car. It was then that the Church saw that I was committed to following my lords Commission. A Little money came in and I went to Africa on Saturday 24th September 1994. I arrived in a country where I knew nobody. I asked the taxi driver at Entebbe airport to take me to a Christian Guesthouse. He took me to marimba Guest house. That evening as I lay alone in my little room, a house girl knocked my door. She asked if I would like to attend a church. I was so happy. The following Day I who knew nobody was preaching to a Church of Over 2000 people. That evening I was speaking at Chief of Police Wedding anniversary, and in that audience were Government officials, and others. The following week I was given a small house to live in free of charge, a Vehicle and driver, and the mission to extreme poor and isolated villages was born. Since that time I have dedicated my whole life to Preaching the Gospel in remote areas of Africa, South India and have never had a salary. I have trusted and depended on God to meet my needs and that of my family. There have been and still are difficulties in rising the cost of Travel, But God always blesses me with Good people whom he has given a passion and heart to pray for these precious children and to sow financially into his work. This is how the Lord called me to service. I pray It will bless and inspire you. Thank you to all who have asked me how God called me to be a missionary without having a job to fund it. Isa 49:5 [COMMON ENGLISH BIBLE] Even before I was born, the LORD God chose me to serve him and to lead back the people So the LORD has honoured me and made me strong. Evangelist Trevor Irwin. • An Interview to Meet Sue Anne!
    by Patricia Montgomery

As a member of RB’s Share The Love mission, t…

As a member of RB’s Share The Love mission, this is the 4th in a series of interviews to introduce you to another talented artist in the Redbubble community. One of the many fabulous things about Redbubble is the fact that a small-town farm girl/photographer (me) from the east coast could meet and make friends with another photographer on the west coast! We met on RB over a photo taken on Route 66. We both had been to the same location, taken the same image, but at different times. Sue Anne has such a warm personality that it seems as though we have been friends forever. She is a lovely person – inside and out – with tremendous photographic talent. It was a blessing to meet her here and an honor to interview her. Here are some of my favorite examples of her work but be sure to pop over to Sue Anne’s profile and take a closer look at her gallery. Now it is time for “Sue Anne” to talk! MEET SUE ANNE: 1. What drew you here to the Redbubble community? A dear friend, MichaelJArmijo, whom I met a few years back on TPW. He sent me an e-mail on day after I had not heard from him in quite some time. He was introducing me to new sites which led me to this site. So many thanks to Michael for introducing me to Redbubble. 2. How does your creative affect other aspects of your life? I would like to think of myself as a giver more than a taker, so by being able to be creative in my photography I am able to give the gift of smiles to those who enjoy my work. I love being a Pre School photographer and capturing every child’s very own expression, smile, shyness and even sometimes sadness. I have always had a very big heart where children are concerned and this is just one of many ways for me to share in the joy I get when being with them. Next; I love to sit for hours upon hours at my computer and play with photos I have taken. Sometimes I will lose all track of time and even forget to go to bed. I have been known to spend several hours on a single photo that I know I’m probably not even going to use somewhere, just to see if I can make it look as I had intended it to appear when I started my project. / / 3. How many Mediums do you work in? Which is your favorite, and why? Wow this is a tuff one, but probably one of the most important ones too. So let’s see… 1.. Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album 5: I have been using this program for so many years I think it has just become a comfortable habit for my downloading photos into my computer and moving them around from one file to another easily. The second reason would be it is the program I have used for the proof sheets that I use in my photography business. It gives me the tools I need and have used for over 10 years and old habits are hard to break. 2. Corel Painter X This is used for the obvious reasons. I use this on the photos I want to give a painted look. 3. Micrografx Picture Publisher 10 I find this program easy to use when doing my selective coloring and helping me map out just the right spots I am using. 4. Photomatix Pro 3.0 I use this for all my HDR work. 5. Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 I use this program 90% of the time I am doing any and most editing to my photos. I am a 100% self taught photographer and editor of my photographs. This is my third upgrade to this program and probably not my last.. When first starting out 10 years ago I just couldn’t get Photo Shop and wanted to just give up all together. I ran into a problem with one of the schools I had photographed back about 8 yrs ago and a friend of a friend came over to see if they could help me restore them as much as possible.. Well he save the day and introduced me to this program and I also discovered that it does most everything that Photo Shop does, just maps it out for me a lot better. 6. I use a Nikon D200 and a Nikon D40x I love the Nikon D40x because it is so light and easy to carry if I am going to be out for a while. I have two lenses for it one is a Nikon DX 18-70 mm; the other is a telephoto lens. I loaned it out to my husband’s son to use while on vacation and can’t remember what it is off hand. / The Nikon D200 I have so many lens my husband has bought and resold and bought and resold, I don’t really know what we have anymore. The one I do know is my Nikon AF 28-105 Macro. 4. What subjects do you enjoy the most in your work? Oh another hard question, I think maybe my web page says it best. Children’s Portraits; because every child’s smile is contagious, and every / child brings something new to every photograph. / Landscapes; because no two are alike, each one differs / in their color and their range of beauty. / Nature; because it can take something new and make it old, it can take something small and make it grow, it can change the color of our world. / Wildlife; for the love of all animals and how each one contributes differently to nature. / Architecture; because there are many shapes & views to each one. 5. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful? Well there are so many people that have made my time here at redbubble special so this is a hard one. So I will go back to when I first started RB and thank AtrejuHood who introduced me to the world of HDR. This has taken me to a whole new place in my photography. And of course my dear friend, Patricia Montgomery. Pat is someone that I feel very blessed to have met and I now think of not just a friend on redbubble but a friend and pen pal for life. Pat and I met one day on redbubble when she submitted a photo of a car in a museum that she had taken while on a recent road trip with her husband. I had just traveled to that same museum less than 6 months prior to that and had taken a picture of that same car. I thought to myself, what were the odds of two people whom live 1000 of miles apart and traveling to the same place and then posting the same picture on such a large site at all most the same time. Why, because we were meant to meet and become friends. 6. Show & tell: What three works or people on Redbubble have moved or inspired you? Oh my there are so many, let’s see three huh… Well the first one really is an easy one for me….. His name is Jason Connolly his work amazes me more and more every time he posts a new picture. I really enjoy the treatments he uses on them and the composition is always remarkable. I hope all of you will check out his portfolio, if you haven’t done so already. As for my favorite pictures of his, that’s a hard one because there are so so many. How about I pick two and you can see the rest for yourselves. Sunset Wreck / and The Little Girl Along The Lane Second would be: SunshowerPlay by Annette Blattman. I have loved this photo from the moment I laid my eyes on it. It is a perfect portrait of my two grandsons as if I had taken it. And Third would be: *Have A Drink On Me by NewDawnPhoto. This photo has amazed me ever since I first saw it, for them to have caught this hummingbird drinking out of that running spout is just to amazing to me. / . And one more, I love this photo by Patricia Montgomery. I think it is just a beautiful piece of work and one she should be very proud of. Come on in. Sit a spell. 7. What goals do you have for your work outside of Redbubble? I would love to open up a studio again; I really enjoy doing boudoir and would love to start photographing nudes. Another dream I have for photography would be to live somewhere I could turn my backyard into a mini outdoor vintage studio. I have dreamed of this for so long, I already have it mapped out in my mind and know just how I want to be. This next one I’m not sure if you would call it a goal but more a dream… I have dream to go on an expedition with a group as their photographer to visit a location that has needy children in a country where opportunities do not exist. And to be a part in the joy of sharing with these children things they have never had the blessing to have in their life. To share in the smiles on their faces as they are given a chance for the gift of a better life, than ever thought possible to them. / My joy would be bringing home this wonderful experience and sharing it through my photographs. / / 8. Now for fun, can you tell one thing about yourself that might surprise us? / / 1. I would love to travel the United States on the back of a Harley, and sleep outside under the stars. 2. Is a story I would like to share with all of you….. When I was younger I was VERY SHY and wouldn’t even look at someone in the face when speaking to them. I grew up being teased about something I had no control over and it broke down my sprit as a child and young adult. I met someone in my young adult life that saw this broken sprit of mine and walked me through the necessary steps to fix this monster I had carried with me as a child and young adult. Breaking free of this monster changed my whole life. It gave me the confidence I had always seen in others, but dreamed about having. I think having this monster inside me as a child is one of the many reasons I enjoy photography as I do. Because I am able to see all sides of every photograph, and make it into something beautiful that others don’t see. As this is how I had always hope people would see me. This monster I carried with me for so many years, I did not bury but try to put it to good use whenever I can and hope that I can change the spirit of someone’s life as that very special person did for me. I know you all are wondering what this monster could have been to break someone’s sprit so, well to most it will seem so small but this is my point, think before you act and even before you speak as something so small to you could make a lasting effect on someone’s life forever. My monster was a very large nose I inherited from my mother. I always had a very tiny face and a large nose. My dream as a child was to have someone look at me and see me before they saw my nose. Well my dream did come true and I see myself as one of the lucky ones. But I ask all of you to think before you act or even speak to spare that next broken sprit of even feeling half the pain that I did. As most broken sprits never get to live their dream as I have. / / I want to thank Pat for asking me to do this interview, for it has opened my eyes to many things in my life that I had either forgotten about or had just taken for granted as I had promised myself I would never do. So thank you for reopening my eyes to the many beautiful things around me that I had forgotten to stop and take notice of.

Hello Precious friends. I have now come back from India Mission where I was working with Indian gypsies. These precious people are outcast from society and called and treated as untouchables. God truly has heard their cry. I have many new photographs and testimonies. Please be patient as it will take some time to upload them. I may open a new India Mission site here. I will add a link on my profile page soon. Africa is still my main mission filed, but after prayer, and guidance from the Holy Spirit I have agreed with Gods permission to raise awareness and help these precious suffering outcast people. Full details will follow. Thank you my dear friends for your Prayers and donation. Each adn every one of you are of immense value to me and Gods care of the poor and outcast. I will make a full report as soon as I can. I love you all. Trevor. http://www.philadelphia33.org/ :http://www.redbubble.com/people/joshuatree1

Just a little over a year ago we put together a statement of what RedBubble is about. We want to repost this not because we are too lazy to write a real journal entry but because it is still true and still important. The last year has seen a global financial crisis, renewed threat of a boiling planet, innumerable international crises and no doubt you have faced many personal challenges. But throughout it all we can draw strength from our individual and collective creativity. When we take that camera, pen, paintbrush or mouse (and some things stranger as well) and start to give expression to the deeper things in ourselves we reach to a higher plane of being. When we recognize in another’s art something new or something of ourselves we connect at a profound level – not only with them but with a common humanity. At RedBubble we will make mistakes and some things will go wrong beyond our control but we hope the shared vision will keep us generally going in the right direction. So yes: We (still) stand: • For artists / • For the work they create / • For the audiences they inspire / • For the buyers they move. We honour them, their work and their passions. The creative endeavour should be shared joyously with others. All should feel free to join in the show. Peter, Paul and Pilgrim and all the team at RedBubble.

Hiya, As I mentioned in my last journal, I had to create a piece of performance art for a sculpture project. The overall experience was painful as I am not used to being in front of the camera, but now at least I can cross another art medium of my list of exploration, as this will be my first and last performance.. / A big thanks to Muscularteeth for letting me use one of his tracks! Wireless I could bore u with the concept but what would be the fun in that : P cheers x Edit: Forgot to mention it is stop motion using 1004 photos..
