Taken at the Summer Palace in Beijing. More travel shots like this in: / My Adventures /
I have always wanted to have a go at ‘painting with light’. So blacked out the spare room and bought a bunch of tulips. The flowers are lit with a small torch waved over them for 81 seconds and the shutter set to ‘bulb’. Except for the 50% texture overlay (I thought the wardrobe doors were a bit boring) it is exactly as shot. /
Taken late in the afternoon on rottnest Island, Western Australia. Cross-processed using RGB curves adjustment with a TTV blend layer.
Playing around with long exposure and painting with light. Exposure time – 25 seconds. A lot of fun – then I ate the subject matter!!!
Found this lurking in a hard drive. Taken from the Eureka tower last year just before they banned cameras in ‘The Edge’ – a glass ‘box’ that extends out from the top floor and hangs over the city 92 floors below. This image was taken through the floor of ‘The Edge’. I adjusted the levels aggressively and burned the reflections of the people to make them stand out more. /
St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney. Split toning filter applied.
A half-dead bunch of ranunculi backlit with window light. A couple of textures layers added. / Nikon D300 with 80-200 mm lens
This is living proof that it is still possible to get a half-decent shot last thing at night after an extensive drinking session! This is the stunningly beautiful little bar Eszerweria in the Kazimierz district of Krakow, Poland.
Some rust detail on panelling of a haybarn in Slovenia. I love the rich colours and detail in this – beauty can be found in the most humble places.
Taken at Port Arthur, an old convict settlement in Tasmania, just as the sun was disappearing.
My photos, added texture background and TTV overlays.
My photograph with a texture layer added in overlay mode to create background interest. I just reloaded this with an adjustment to the shadow – softened it a bit – following some input from a most esteemed fellow shutterbug. Thanks J. /
Taken inside Telstra Dome, Melbourne.
© Simone Byrne Photography, 2009. All Rights Reserved. 10th June, 2009 Street photography is something I haven’t done in a very long time, not since my first year at Uni. But catching up with a mate in Melbourne on Wednesday, we headed into the city to have a play. I actually went in specifically to do some modern architectural shots, but couldn’t resist passing this old icon. Used the black glass in order to get some traffic movement and decided to play with some textures and mono treatments for that classic, old world look. Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Camera: Canon EOS 350D Lens: Canon 18-55mm @ focal length 18mm Exposure: 2.5 sec, f16, ISO 100 Filters: Hoya UV, Hoya CPL & NDX400 Processing: Adobe Photoshop CS Textures: CG Textures More Images @ SimoneByrne.com.au Thanks for looking, all comments greatly appreciated, Simone.
Something a little different…
A photo taken at last year’s Avalon Airshow. Cross-processed it by adjusting the curves colour channels and overlaid it with a grungy TTV hoping to get a REALLY aged look. View more of my Digitally Manipulated images at: HDR and Digital Manipulation /
