This photo was actually taken at the tourist location of Skansen in Stockholm, Sweden in July 2008. Shangri-La is a fictional place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by British author James Hilton. In the book, “Shangri-La” is a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the Kunlun Mountains. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise but particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia—a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. In the novel Lost Horizon, the people who live at Shangri-La are almost immortal, living years beyond the normal lifespan. The word also evokes the imagery of exoticism of the Orient. The story of Shangri-La is based on the concept of Shambhala, a mystical city in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

Woot lol! sweet Brandie won lol!Brandie1 . .this wonderful poem written for the creation by sweet Sally Omar ... what wondrous Poetry eh? marvelous!! ....floating..i’m floating / like a rose on the open sea / dancing on water / i’m intoxicated by thee / i never felt the warmth / of anyone’s kiss / how have i survived / there is so much i’ve missed / like a rose set upon the water / i have a free heart / no longer a prisoner / let us never part / colors now invade me / reflections touch my soul / life has taken a turn / i have finally found my role / i am surrounded by warmth / protected by your touch / floating…i’m floating / i love you so much. .... this creation was.inspired by my very own vid woot lol! made it a couple of days ago …wot fun eh?link .a first digital experimental creation using a Rose photo & a river photo I took at the Norfolk Broads UK…merged them together with layers in CS4. NRDC ....
