The press loved the Mini on it’s launch in 1959, but sales were unimpressive, but when well known celebrities such as Paul McCartney and Twiggy became owners that the sales went through the roof. I’m pretty sure the Italian Job also had plenty to do with sales post 1969. The scene where the robbers’ Minis are chased through a sewer tunnel were filmed in the Sowe Valley Sewer Duplication system in the English city of Coventry.
Im pleased to let the redbubble community be the first to know that mikotoMiniBadges are now available at the mikotoShop on my website mikoto.com.au. They are all limited edition badges that could someday be a collector item ( you never know?). I will only make them available while the shirts are in season and until their stock runs out. I hope you like them. I have been very busy tweaking all the website gargon and making them look as vibrant and as fun as possible! scotty.
Series of designs paying homage to some of the great iconic cars loved around the world.
Found these guys too cute to not shoot, they are about 25mm (1 inch) tall, and very delicate indeed. they seem to like the mossy areas at the base of trees, alive or dead. Found these in the national park, just North of Lorne VIC, on the Great Ocean Road. Canon 50D, 400mm.

/ A Pocket Full of Posies Ring a-ring o’ roses, / A pocketful of posies. / a-tissue!, a-tissue!. / We all fall down. I created this from a tissue box for the Mini Challenge: Recycled Art over in the forums here on RB. The tissue box shall now live on my kitchen bench and is the new dispenser for recyclable plastic bags :) this was painted using aquarelle watercolour crayons and black marker pen, over an undercoat of white gesso…fixative applied liberally after to protect the paint work I thought this poem was very appropriate and hence the title….as it was originally a box full of tissues :) there are many variations of this poem, the one i’ve quoted is the UK version.
