The moped is more common than the bicycle in Ho Chi Minh City, VietNam.
Taken in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Viet Nam. From Wikipedia – Established by French colonists, the cathedral was constructed between 1863 and 1880. It has two bell towers, reaching a height of 58 meters (190 feet).
These mopeds were zooming round the roundabout in the middle of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I took several pictures trying to capture the motion. I’m not sure even this is all that good, but it stood out and I suspect it’s because of the pink hat.
A Gears of War wallpaper I made for my friend Doug. Love to Gears :3 / Here’s the link to the wallpaper: http://lbyepanda.deviantart.com/art/Gears-of-War-Wallpaper-v1-83918436
A typical photo seen in all Vietnam, the market lady full of life….carrying her bags of goods weighed down onto her shoulder…in the shadow of her hat. Pentax K10 used
This was taken looking out from my hotel window in Ho Chi Minh City. These little impromptu markets seemed to pop up all over the place.

I got a glimpse of her from across the street and I could not believe my luck that she was right in front of this bright yellow building, a perfect complement to her dark blue clothing. She was selling lottery tickets. Taken in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Taken in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She was simply waiting for the bus and I loved that she was dressed in pure white against the white backdrop of the bus shelter. I did add a curves adjustment to give it a cross-processed feel as I felt in the end that the white on white (and taken in very bright sunshine) was just a little too bright.
Taken in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, it took me a little while to take his photo because of the constant motorbikes that were passing on this street. After I actually took the photo, he got up and did this big wave hello. I was heading towards the War Remnants Museum at this point only to find out that it was closed so a few minutes later I actually passed by him once again. He recognized me right away and again belted out this great big hello and then started pointing me out to the couple of people that had gathered … I can only imagine that he was saying!

This is the main post office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is truly something out of a movie from the 1960’s with its antique maps, telephone cabins and beautiful marble flooring and architecture.
These prayer strips covered an entire wall at the Thien Hau Pagoda in the Cholon district of Ho Chi Minh City. What I later found out was that each was handwritten, which I discovered when I saw this young woman sitting in a small alcove with her calligraphy set writing each prayer meticulously on these bright pink strips of paper.
Formerly the Gia Long Palace, this was taken at the now Ho Chi Minh City Museum which traces the history of this Vietnamese city. It was easy to get distracted away from the actual exhibits to focus on the fact that this was an incredible space (often used by couples for their wedding photos).
Taken in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam at the Tam Son Hoi Quan Pagoda. I have said it many times, the smallest and most mundane things amuse me so that being said it is truly no surprise that I came home from a few days in Vietnam and had a photo of an electrical plug! I arrived at the Jade Emperor Pagoda a few minutes before it was actually set to open so I decided to spend that time watching the completely chaotic traffic at a nearby traffic circle and he happened to drive by. Taken in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Taken at the Tam Son Hoi Quan Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Cross-processed for consistency with the other photos from this trip. The beam of light is very real!
Taken at the Quan Am Pagoda in the Cholon district of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The photo seems hazy but that is due to the incredible amount of smoke hanging in the air from the incense burning in this active pagoda.
