Deeply inspired by Anathema’s ‘Closer’. “You’re closer to the truth, within you… is the truth…” Thanks for looking! :)

From vision to creation, just use your imagination. / Inspired by the lyrics of my favourite band “Tool” and the model’s band Amber Room. This is not a photomanipulation, the records are really there. / Thank you for looking.
we are the sum of thoughts in our heads, what we think, what we know, what we say.

The labyrinth was a maze created by the brilliant engineer Daedalus for King Minos to hold prisoners from ever escaping. The Minotaur resided deep within it’s depths, later to be slain by the hero Theseus. Of course Daedalus himself later became a captive to his own creation. Since even he could not find a way to escape from his own construction, he devised wings of wax and feathers and string, and, along with his son, Icharus, flew from the confines of the labyrinth. Icharus, not heeding his father’s warning, flew on too high toward the sun, causing the wax in his wings to melt; and he fell to the earth, and his death. / The labyrinth has been observed in many cultures to be a metaphor of the depths of the human psyche. From the ideas of old Greece to medieval cathedrals to the modern ideas of the psychoanylist Carl Jung, the labyrinthean depths of our own minds may very well be of the very highest construction and capability, as well as our greatest obstacle toward true enlightenment and freedom. / Original work was created using watercolor and gouache media on Arches cold-press 180lb. cotton rag.
This shots got a lot of different meanings for me. I see it as waking from yourself, as if lifting from your body-escaping.And also this spirit that can never lie to rest. hope you like this shot, took me ages to wait till the light outside was right :-)
Ever had that feeling of absence?

a bird on a barbed wire fence in Lawton OK. This is very near my home… Nikon D80 / May 7, 2009] We have birds making nests in our bbq if we leave the lid down. When I open it, I find bits of trash that they have collected along with the straw and twigs. We should all pay more attention to where our trash is ending up and maybe trying to buy “Naked Products” which are products with a little to no packagins as possible. Buy local and aways recycle! ;)
Featured on : CRIMSON KAIE so what is GRAPHICS…......such a loose term! FEATURED in STRICTLY FACES / / Wikipedia said many things of GRAPHICS….......it may be PHOTOGRAPHS…............... check wikipedia for more insightful knowledge. So where does this type if photography fit into a CAMERA CLUB ….............I think once a photograph is opened into a computer program the mutation begins. There are very few photographers these days who do not enhance a photograph in some way. There are programs sold to teach one how to enhance/perfect a landscape/portrait/etc …........come up with the perfect result! So I guess this is where the word IMAGINATION steps in…........there is no program for imagination!! Apartment Living / This image was created when I 1st returned to Melbourne and found my city covered with graffiti . Then attended the Howard Arkley exhibition where I decided that Howard was the cause of it all…............well we all know people wrote in caves years ago. Arkley ’s work is wonderful in colour and a record of a period in architecture/etc in Australia. / I decided that using photographs I was sure one could create the wonderful city as colourful as depicted in Arkley’s city images. Also Melbourne itself seemed to have exploded in colour in architecture around the waterfront /so many apartments/a new style of living./such close living…..... I found all this rather exciting. To a point amusing. All the images in this work were taken in Melbourne..the city buildings /etc/all photographs. Maybe my HUMOUR is rather questionable …......... Humour can be described as / introducing uncomfortable or delicate events which people do not normally want to think about./want to reject…...........maybe that is what I have done here. Please check wikipedia for complete works of the meaning of HUMOUR
Hmmm when you can have an understanding of each other and need (want) one another…that has alot to do with love. Oil on canvas, an older image but i thought i would post it.
Ok, as some of you know, I’ve had a pretty rough time recently and have taken up ‘mindfulness’. I completely lost my way just before I went away and wanted to use the 2 weeks to refresh my spirit. I took a load of books away with me and one was ‘The Monk who sold his Ferrari’. For those of you who may not know, it’s about an American multi-millionnaire lawyer who breaks down through stress and the pressure of life. He sells up everything and finds peace with the monks in India. He then comes back and shares the 7 virtues of life with others. This book is my bible and I truly believe in it. I’d just finished reading it when we went to Carcassonne. I could feel my soul being mended slowly and knew I’d found my path again. I walked into the medieval city and bumped into a friend from England who I hadn’t seen for quite a while. Weird enough. I then turned a corner and saw this man meditating, doing yoga and balancing crystals with some awesome music playing in the background. He was the book personified and he sent me a real message. This may sound corny but I strongly believe that these things are happening because the time is right and the messages are leading me to where I belong…. /
