  • A beautifully decorated roof terrace in the Medina district (the Arabic old town) of Tunis, Tunisia, North Africa. • I’ll always remember these types of scenes when I look back on Egypt. I don’t remember a skyline that was not pierced by one or many minarets. The morning call for prayer (more than any other of the day as I was quite asleep) seemed to boom from these places. And the life of every city or village revolved around them. From the minaret, to the bright Mediterranean colors and the rough textures, this was Egypt for me. This one happens to be on Elephantine Island at Aswan.
