Taken at the Milwaukee Art Museum. If you’re ever in the area and in the mood for some amazing art, you need go no further than the parking lot of this building. The architecture itself is a work of art. © Cadence Gamache

Winter storm night. 2/7/07 / The Astor Hotel is my home away from home. I was fortunate to be here for the big storm last night. / The Hotel is on the list of Registered Historic places. Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the East Side near Lake Michigan.
Walking about Milwaukee as I don’t have my family here with me on assignment, I found the big lake beginning to freeze. I loved the play of light and shadow with the mixture of ice and water at dusk.

This is a photo taken on a boat on my way out to Lake Michigan during one of the many summer festivals in Milwaukee. We got out there just in time for a spectacular fireworks show! / 6.29.09 /
A photograph of the foyer of the Milwaukee Art Museum. I was so fortunate to be there early enough on a bright sunny day before people crowded out this view. The architecture of this building is simply stunning. If you have never been, you should visit sometime. The building was built to resemble a seagull landing on Lake Michigan and it even has “wings” that flap everyday at noon. Its quite a site. This would look very nice along with my other print “Milwaukee Art Museum” taken at the same site. Enjoy! Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.
Taken at the Milwaukee Zoo. I love the high contrast of this image.

This is part of the new addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum in WIsconsin designed by Santiago Calatrava. It is simply amazing either from the inside or outside, but this is in the main pavilion looking up through the skylight at “the wings.” When the wings are open, they look like a sail or a whale’s tail from the outside and allow lots of light to filter through the geometric ceiling inside.
This I photographed in the fall along the shore of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, WI I am able to see the most amazing sunrises and sunsets where I live. Of course I had a little help with PS…heehee / /

I took these shots a few Sundays ago when I visited a local cemetery. (Thank you Gary and Denice for pointing me to something right under my nose.) I had planned to use them for reference for future drawings, but they looked as though they could use their own home in between.
