I added the following in regard to raiding the system in the voting of the Short Story competition and decided to repost it here more publically to further spread my view of how I feel about the Gods of the redbubbleworld and Redbubble dot com. / I also hope that the Gods of the Bubbleworld who I am coming to ADMIRE tremendously will help us all to remain with the sincerest integrity. Sometimes people fall into weakness and we forgive them for that, but WEAKNESS AND ANY EXPOITATION shouldnt be allowed to prevail ! and ultimately when we all value each other far more than winning or selling and competing in this case, we truly have achieved integrity across the community, in a community spirit. I continue to love it here because the redbubbleworld is conducted with class. I HOPE REDBUBBLE.COM GOES INTERNATIONAL at some point and grows to make the creators’ millionaires, I am happy to stay a smallfry- the amount of artists, photographers and creators rebubble.com touches and liberates there creative lives, ALL you GUYS deserve it…..I would vote best business of the year simply for this fact alone……....(sorry off track there) / I am therefore pleased that you guys have a monitoring system and that you police it, so that I can sleep well at night knowing that on my behalf, all goes well……... xxxxx hugs Jienn

I am no tree expert, but I believe this is a Banyan tree and it sits outside the Henry Flagler Mansion in Palm Beach, Florida. Mr Flagler was a famous American industrialist who profited from Oil and railroads and was coined one of America’s most wealthy Robber Barons of his time. But when he decided to escape to Florida and build his home, I suppose this tree was his way of bringing some peace to his conscience. But for me it is magnificent tree for some welcome shade from the hot summers here. LOL

I’ve heard the exact same story told in different towns by different nitwits, but it basically goes like this – a certain well-known homeless person in town is actually a millionaire either by a) all the money they make panhandling or b) is from a very wealthy family. Told by liars and believed by too many. Anyways… I love the original photograph – it came from a photographer on Flickr named Tony Alter/Tobyotter. If the code wasn’t a mile long and didn’t begin with a happy face emoticon (for some reason) I’d post it here, but give Tony a search on Flickr, he’s got some great pics. Painted in PS on a Wacom. And one other question – how come it’s called class warfare when you criticise the rich but it’s not class warfare when you make up stories about the poor? Just wondering. EDIT July 7: I need to add that Marty, a local homeless person in Kitchener and one who I heard this exact same urban myth spoken about, just passed away. He had cancer and was one of a couple of inspirations for me doing this image in the first place. His funeral was held at St. John’s Kitchen, and no, turns out he did not have millions of dollars stashed away.
