Ok, I tried to portray the moment where the Universal Migrator is born and divides itself in many Migrators. This is based on the second track of Ayreon’s conceptual album The Universal Migrator Part II: Flight of the Migrator, which is pure unadultered space opera/sci fi madness with keyboards, metal and all that stuff. Lyrics: Ayreon – Dawn of a Million Souls At the birth of time, the beginning of beginnings / One cosmic soul was created / A bringer of life, a universal migrator / Born to sow its seeds in all the galaxies Like a cell dividing, it spreads in all directions / Creating life among the stars / I’m struck with awe as I join the great migrator / Now it takes flight to the brightest star of all On a quest for life, through the sable skies / What a show! behold! / The dawn of a million souls On a bold crusade, in the realm of shade / What a show! behold! / The dawn of a million souls Through the glowing mist, like a fog of radiation / I can see the forming of new planets / I’ve been struck by thunder as I witness all the splendor / And I realize how small we really are Oh, I can see forever / On the wings of dreams I fly / Is this real or is it just a fantasy? / What awaits me now at the end of this ride?
Title inspired by the love shared between Mulder and Scully… I really miss my X-Files.
Why did our mothers throw our toys away? Why?!
A seemingly never-ending sunflower field overlooking the Black Hills in South Dakota. I think you could walk for hours and not ever reach the other end….
A difficult dichotomy. This image is about the search and struggle for identity of the individual, and of the Chinese Nation as a whole. Having (relatively recently) opened their doors to the world, and seemingly having embraced western notions of capitalism and individualism in an attempt to ‘modernise’, still maintain a staunch communist political idealism, with demanding expectations placed upon those living under it’s rule.

The rock is sacred to the local Anunga Aborigines / and they say this is the heart of Uluru / The beats of an ancestral heart… / The rock is sacred to the local Anunga Aborigines. Ayers Rock is the popular English designation (named after Sir Henry Ayers, a 19th century Australian governor). However, the rock’s official appellation is Uluru, the one given by the Anunga Aborigines. Uluru Waterhole / / The heart of Uluru / Carved out by water /
Carved out by water / The rock is sacred to the local Anunga Aborigines. / Water has shaped the valleys, potholes and pools of Uluru. Rainstorm after rainstorm over millions of years has sent water plummeting down the hard rock, wearing it away to form grooves, and chains of potholes and plunge pools. Uluru Waterhole / / The heart of Uluru / Carved out by water /
Another one of my recent images taken at Enniskillen Orchards. / With this image I tried to take a different approach by turning the focus to a small part of the scene rather than taking in the entire landscape through the row of peach trees. I added a very soft layer of sepia to the image to give it a warmer feel. / Hope you like it and thanks for looking!
A combination of 2 of my tee designs.

This is a baby red crab from Christmas Island, sitting on a rock at dawn. The crab had just emerged from the ocean where he/she hatched from his/her egg. The babies are less than 3mm wide and long, and are almost transparent. They leave the ocean en-masse and make their way into the jungle. Unfortunately the en-mass ocean departure only happens every 1-2 in 10 years, so instead of getting shots of millions of tiny red crabs, instead i took portrait pics of them with my 105mm macro lens. They were soooo tiny and had the exact same mannerisms as their larger red crab relations. They were some of the cutest creatures i have ever had the joy to see! The red crabs of Christmas Island are famous for their annual migration to the ocean to mate and spawn. Exactly one month later, the baby crabs emerge from the ocean. Many natural factors have to align for the migration to commence, such as the stage of the moon, recent rainfall, etc. The whole cycle is a miracle of nature. Taken with a Canon 5D Camera, 105mm Sigma lens, at f2.8, ISO 320, 1/1000th sec, handheld. As is. Featured in the following groups: A Photographers Craft, Minatures & Mammoths, & Image Writing.
Classic icon from the 70’s, we can make him better, we can rebuild him! Not with today’s economy you can’t! More like Six BILLION…anyway what little guy’s hero wasn’t Steve Austin on the 70’s. A true ACTION HERO!
This is a TtV image (Through the Viewfinder), using the alternative photographic technique of composing the image through a 60 year old twin reflex (argus 75) camera and taking the picture with a dslr camera. Cheers Jules / / My blog ramblings here…
LARGE VIEW RECOMMENDED 0.5 sec exposure, f13, 10mm Sigma, Canon EOS 450D. ND8 Grad filter. Without blowing my own trumpet and owing a lot to the light and location, this is by far, my most favourite image I have created. A little work in Photoshop, but not much, I hope you like it as much as I do. The Dorset and East Devon Coast World Heritage Site is England’s first natural World Heritage Site – it is known as The Jurassic Coast. It covers 95 miles of truly stunning coastline from East Devon to Dorset, with rocks recording 185 million years of the Earth’s history. World Heritage status was achieved because of the site’s unique insight into the Earth Sciences as it clearly depicts a geological ‘walk through time’ spanning the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
On your view screen now is the Globular Cluster Omega Centauri. This cluster of approximately 2 million stars and is located about 16,000 light years from Earth. / The cluster is held together by gravity and is in orbit about the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy. The cluster is visible as the 24th brightest star in the constellation of Centaurs. (The brightest stars in any constellation are given the Greek Letters in order of brightness.) Though the stars look crowded together they are still separated by large distances and will rarely collide. The stars that make up Globular Clusters are the oldest in the Universe. / This image was taken with a Nikon D300 attached to a 6” f7 telescope on an Equatorial Mount. The effective focal length is 1066mm. This image is made from 3×5 minute exposures combined in CS2.
One for my friends Jase and Beej. Enjoy! I’ve had to change this – the actual figure is 300 billion not 3 billion.
