Shimpū Tokkōtai (jap. 神風特攻隊) is the Japanese name for the Kamikaze special troops. Kamikaze (jap. 神風, literally: “God-wind”, “god speed”, “light wind”, “spirit-wind” or “divinity-wind”; common translation: “divine wind”) is a word of Japanese origin, which in English usually refers to the suicide attacks by military aviators from the Empire of Japan against Allied shipping, in the closing stages of the Pacific campaign of World War II, to destroy as many warships as possible.

Lt. General Wade’s Bridge at Aberfeldy in the Breadalbane region of Highland Perthshire (Breadalbane means “Highland Scotland” in Gaelic). Shot taken on Saturday 20th December 08 in the middle of our winter. Designed by William Adam, Scotland’s best architect. The total cost was £3,596 or, in today’s terms, over £1m. ”... a freestone bridge over the Tay, of five arches, nearly 400ft. in length, the middle arch 60 feet wide, the starlings of oak and the piers and landbreasts founded on piles shod with iron….” (House of Commons Journal, 7th February 1734). The bridge was first opened to traffic at the end of October 1733. Wade regarded it the greatest of his considerable achievements in road-making. In 9 years he had personally supervised the construction of over 250 miles of military roads in the Highlands – the first engineered roads in Britain since Roman times. lt is now the only one of Wade’s 35 major bridges to remain in use as a public highway. Built for 18th century wheeled carriages, it survives to the 21st century as a great memorial to a great roadbuilding engineer. Wade’s Bridge is a Category A listed structure of historic importance (HB Number 20861) under the care of Historic Scotland. The River Tay, Scotland longest river, meanders across Scotland from Loch Tay before flowing out to sea at the Firth of Tay. Many people believe that Peregrine Squadron were nothing more than a trumped up aerial display team, contributing little to the defense of the country. And this view is supported by their lack of appearance in any military historical accounts. But Peregrine Squadron had a long and unmatched covert mission record. A record that only the Prime Minister and a few select individuals from the secret service had any knowledge of. The image shows among others; a rifleman, a grenadier and a bio-weapons expert.

I thought this man was beautiful.. alone and full of stoic silence.. he exuded a sense of peace somehow for me.. I was squashed in a corner but squashed in Love and friendship.. I could not move too far to get too many shots while he was sworn in.. I should have bought a box to stand on and I am 5’9!! But I got a few good shots and was with fellow Americans who cheered and booed.. (when guess whos appreared.. B and C !!) and was full of the Spirit of our country … The United States of America with emphasis on the United part!! Enjoy friends…. and you were all with me.. I saw everyone’s comments on my Iphone!!! / You sure are a wonderful family!

83 year old pilot conducting some pre-flight checks in the de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk, while his wingman ensures the radio is set properly. These are the types of shot I just wished I would take more of. I am beginning to see the value of the human aspect of photography. Taken with Nikon D200, Nikkor 24-120mm lens, post-processed with ReDynaMix for slight HDR effect, Dodge and Burnt in CS3, and final Digital Lightroom edits.
